MasukSeeing the headlines, Elaine sneered as she had not thought that Rosa would let go of such an opportunity. Seeing there were signs of Travis spending the night with another woman, how could her sister let go of such a good opportunity to show off and get the resources she had always wanted? However, she knew that this must have had something to do with Travis, who didn’t want her to know that he was cheating on her; sadly, she already knew.
“Elaine?” Travis called when he got home, but all he was met with was silence.
He walked to their room and saw that all her clothes were gone, causing his eyes to turn cold. He went to the surveillance room to watch what had happened the previous night. Seeing him making meals and decorating the house for his birthday, his expression softened, but then he saw that all that had changed when she talked with someone on a call.
He watched her waiting for him before seeing her started to cry when she received something on her phone. He halted the video and zoomed it, but it wasn’t clear. He saw her leaving with a man, and he found it unbelievable.
Taking his phone, wanting to call his secretary, he saw a deleted call log. His phone was designed so that if someone deleted anything, he would still see it. When he saw whose call and the time, he froze as he started to understand what had happened. He even suspected that whatever Elaine had received was from Rosa, but sadly, he didn’t have any evidence proving that. He clenched the phone in his hands before walking out of the room, convinced that Elaine would come back as she loved him so much.
“Mr Parker,” someone called him as he was descending the stairs, startling him, and he looked at the intruder coldly.
“And you are?” he asked coldly.
“My name is Evan Lee. Mrs Elaine Parker’s lawyer. I am here to send you the divorce agreement. Please go through it very quickly and sign them. My client doesn’t want anything from you, which makes things easier,” the man said, shocking Travis, and he stared at the brown envelope that he was being handed before he took a step back.
“No! I won’t sign it. Where is she?” he asked coldly and loudly as he looked at the envelope in disgust.
“Mr Parker, if I were you, I would sign the agreement. My client doesn’t want anything to do with you, so kindly please don’t search for her. In the future, when you see her, don’t even think of going near her,” the lawyer said sharply, making Travis stare at the man.
He could tell that he was no ordinary man, but he wondered how Elaine could afford such a lawyer when she didn’t even leave with any of the cards he had given him. Also, the Sawyers wouldn’t even allow her to divorce him. However, he then fell silent as he remembered that Rosa was that family’s favorite, thus they might still be looking forward to his divorcing his wife, their less favored daughter, to marry his favorite daughter. Thinking of all these, he sneered.
“Go tell the Sawyers that if I divorce Elaine, then all the cooperation will be terminated. Also, they should never think that Rosa will become my wife. She is a home-wrecker!” Travis said, and the man scoffed.
“You are wrong, Mr Parker, I wasn’t sent by that family. I am even hearing of them from you? If you know what’s good for you, then sign the divorce agreement, and then send it to me. I think you can find out about me,” the lawyer said before taking Travis's hand by force and placing the envelope in his hands.
Travis' eyes darkened when he saw that and admitted that the man must not have been sent by the Sawyers, as they wouldn’t have the guts to treat him that way. However, he was so curious to know who that man was, as he really had guts and was so strong. He didn’t want to brag, but he was one of the strongest in the city, but couldn’t say that when it came to other cities or even most, the capital, where all phoenixes and dragons.
The man gave him one good look and sneered, “You were never good enough for her. We all don’t get why she chose you when she had better options, but its okay now. You cheated remember that, you don’t deserve her or her love,” the man said before turning around leaving a pale Travis.
From the man’s words, he understood that Elaine had already known what had happened at night. His eyes turned cold as he couldn’t believe that he had let that family bully her, and he had promised that he would always be at her side. His eyes became watery, but he was too stubborn to shed tears. He took the divorce agreement and went through it, then sighed before returning it to the envelope.
He went and placed it in his safe to keep it safe, as to him, that was the only thing that Elaine had left to him, and he wasn’t going to sign it no matter what.
“Did you investigate what happened yesterday?” he asked his secretary, who had called him.
“Sir, I have looked at it, but there isn’t anything. It seems that Miss Sawyer did something when she got to the room,” the secretary said apologetically, but to Travis, it was an excuse.
If they all looked for excuses about what happened the previous night, then who would bring his wife back?
“That’s just an excuse, go pack and go to Africa for the ongoing project. Ask Isaac to come back as soon as possible,” he said, then hung up his call as he didn’t want to hear him anymore.
The man on the other side paled when he heard that, but he understood why. He had worked with Travis for a long time and knew how he treasured his wife, so how could he believe that that had happened? He thought of something and shamelessly called once more, even risking his punishment being added.
“What do you want? Haven’t I made myself clear?” Travis asked coldly immediately he picked up the call.
“Sorry, boss. But I have a suggestion on that matter,” the secretary said nervously, but Travis remained silent, making the guy sigh in relief as taking it as a go-ahead.
“Sir, hasn’t Miss Sawyer always portrayed herself as innocent? If something really happened yesterday and she lost her virginity, there would have been blood, but did you say any blood upon waking up?” the secretary asked, stunning Travis, who had not thought of any of that.
“Sir, I guess your silence means no. Then that could prove that either nothing happened yesterday or she isn’t as innocent as she portrays,” the secretary.
“That woman schemed against me, and you think that she is innocent? Of course she isn’t, but how does that matter?” Travis asked coldly.
“Sir, what if we take her to be tested to determine whether something happened yesterday or if your fluids are in her? Won’t that answer our question whether you really cheated or not? That way, won’t you have evidence to give the madam?” the secretary asked. Even though Travis didn’t tell him anything, he knew that there might be a storm in that house.
“Are you sure that you are fine going back there?” a soft, worried voice asked.“Mom, you heard what Dad said on the phone. If I don’t go, who knows what will happen to that company? You built it with your own hands, and I don’t understand why you left it for him to manage it despite of knowing that he has poor management and financial skills,” Elaine answered, making her mother stare at her.“That’s your father you are talking about. Speaking of him with total respect,” her mother reprimanded her, making Elaine roll her eyes.“Whatever. He has never treated me well. He treats that girl better than he treats me, his own daughter. Someone can mistake that Rosa is his biological daughter, and I am the daughter whom my mother brought when she married that family,” Elaine said, causing her mother to sigh as she didn’t know what else to say, as her daughter already hated her father so much.“You know that he is forcing you to go there as he wants you to hand over the shares in your hands.
Mrs Parker turned in the direction the woman was looking and was frozen. The little girl looked exactly like Elaine when she was a little girl.“Why does she look familiar?” the other woman said as she also stared at the woman. As someone who had been trained since she was small, Princess felt some gazes on her, making her turn to their direction. When she saw them, she didn’t know why she felt close to the woman at the front.Because they had been talking with Angela, discussing a design they had just seen, Angela noticed when she went silent, and her gaze focused on one side. She turned to see what she was looking at, and when she saw Mrs Parkers, she was frozen. The woman could never have been lied to. She panicked as she knew that from the way the woman was staring at Princess, she already knew who her mother was.“Princess, if the woman asks you who your parents are. Tell her that your mother’s name is Cate,” Angela said in a murmur, making Princess frown and turn to her.“Auntie
