After five years.

“Sorry, but you can’t get in,” the security guard said.

“Who do you think you are? This is my family’s empire. Who are you to stop me?” Rosa asked arrogantly, making the security guard frown.

“I am sorry, Miss Sawyer, but the president is currently busy, and he has instructed not to allow anyone into his office. If you have to see him, wait for him over there,” the security guard said as he pointed at a sofa in the corridor, making Rosa’s face darken.

She wondered why, even when that bitch had vanished, Travis refused to marry her. She even had his child, but he didn’t treat her any better. Only when she used the child would she get a chance to see him, but she was tired of it. She was the mother of his heir. Why then didn’t anyone give her the respect she deserved? Just thinking of all these made her angry.

“Why is Marcus?” She took her phone and called someone.

“Madam, Marcus is currently in school,” the person on the other side said nervously.

“What! Shouldn’t he be homeschooled? Why is he in school? What if he is bullied? He is the Parker's heir and shouldn’t study with the other kids for goodness sake!” she shouted, making the guards look at her and shake their heads.

They wondered where their madam went, as she was kind and caring to all, unlike this one, who was so bossy and thought that she was at the highest peak of the pyramid. Didn’t she understand that other people were on top of her?

“The boss said that he shouldn’t be spoiled and should learn how to get along with others,” the other person on the other side said when she had been told.

“Dammit!” Rosa cursed as she understood what Travis was trying to do.

Most of the time, she came and wasn’t allowed to get in. She would send someone to fetch Marcus and use him to get in, but now! She couldn’t go to school and start commanding them as they all looked down on her. Everyone does, as they call her a homewrecker who ruined her own sister’s family. But to her, Elaine was the one who took the man she loved; she was the homewrecker. She couldn’t understand why, even after Elaine left, she still had to leave under her shadow.

“What are you doing here? Do you think that this is a marketplace place you can make noise as you feel like?” Travis asked as he walked towards her with a cold face, and Rosa trembled.

She really feared Travis, especially when she recalled what Travis had done to her when the reporters were outside five years ago. All always felt that if she didn’t say that she was pregnant, she would have been killed and her body disposed of. Right now, she really wanted to be with him, but didn’t dare get close to him.

“This isn’t the Sawyers Group, where you are spoiled and can behave however you want. This place doesn’t belong to your family. The earlier you understand that the better. Don’t come here to disturb my people while they are working!” Travis said coldly before passing her as if he didn’t know that she was there for him.

Seeing this, Rosa gritted her teeth as she thought that if it weren’t for Travis's powerful background, she would never follow him like that with that kind of ill and cold temper. However, she really didn’t have any other choice as Travis was the richest in the city, and she couldn’t look for a man whose background was lower than his.

“But Travis, Marcus, he was….” Rosa started saying hurriedly when she saw him walking to his office, but Travis's personal assistant placed a tablet in her hands. When she looked at the screen, she saw her son running and laughing with the other kids of his age.

“Miss Sawyer, the Marcus is fine as you can see, so kindly leave and let the boss do his work. Every minute you waste on him, he loses millions, so I advise you to be careful with what you do!” the assistant said, making Rosa’s face turn pale.

She now understood why Marcus was taken to school. As he lived with her at the Sawyers' mansion, she could do whatever she wanted and even use Marcus, but now it seemed that Travis was monitoring every one of Marcus’ moves in school.

“Why are you doing this to me! I am his mother!” she asked loudly, making everyone misunderstand and look at Travis with a frown and disapproving gaze on their faces, making Travis halt his steps.

“Who refused that you are his mother? But do you think of the kid? All you think is how you can use him, use him to get in here, use him to see me, use him to force me to have dinner with you. Let the kid breathe for goodness' sake! He needs to be out there with kids of his age and not all of this propaganda you are trying to create! Rosa, don’t provoke me or think I don’t know what you did that night. Try disturbing me when I am working and you will regret it!” Travis said coldly, and the last sentence to her ears so that only she could hear him before turning around and leaving.

Rosa’s face turned white, especially when she thought of Travis's last words, but she didn’t believe it, as how could he be silent and let her always get what she wanted? She believed that it was only a matter of time before she got him under her thumb. She looked at Travis’ office, which was shut, and a cold glint appeared on her face before turning to leave, as she was fed up with how everyone was looking at her.

“Are you sure that you are fine going back there?” a soft, worried voice asked.“Mom, you heard what Dad said on the phone. If I don’t go, who knows what will happen to that company? You built it with your own hands, and I don’t understand why you left it for him to manage it despite of knowing that he has poor management and financial skills,” Elaine answered, making her mother stare at her.“That’s your father you are talking about. Speaking of him with total respect,” her mother reprimanded her, making Elaine roll her eyes.“Whatever. He has never treated me well. He treats that girl better than he treats me, his own daughter. Someone can mistake that Rosa is his biological daughter, and I am the daughter whom my mother brought when she married that family,” Elaine said, causing her mother to sigh as she didn’t know what else to say, as her daughter already hated her father so much.“You know that he is forcing you to go there as he wants you to hand over the shares in your hands.

Seeing the headlines, Elaine sneered as she had not thought that Rosa would let go of such an opportunity. Seeing there were signs of Travis spending the night with another woman, how could her sister let go of such a good opportunity to show off and get the resources she had always wanted? However, she knew that this must have had something to do with Travis, who didn’t want her to know that he was cheating on her; sadly, she already knew.“Elaine?” Travis called when he got home, but all he was met with was silence. He walked to their room and saw that all her clothes were gone, causing his eyes to turn cold. He went to the surveillance room to watch what had happened the previous night. Seeing him making meals and decorating the house for his birthday, his expression softened, but then he saw that all that had changed when she talked with someone on a call.He watched her waiting for him before seeing her started to cry when she received something on her phone. He halted the video

“What if it is a misunderstanding? You know how that sister of yours is,” the man said.“Brother, I want to go home,” Elaine said as she cried.“Home? Which home? You know that if you go back to Mr Sawyer’s mansion, he will just blame you for not being able to keep your husband and will support Rosa. Don’t forget that they might even force you to divorce your man. Are you ready to divorce him?” he asked, and Elaine kept quiet, making him sigh.“Sweetie. You and Travis grew up here together, I understand that. But don’t you think that you have given up so much for him? When mom and Mr Sawyer divorced, you chose not to follow mom cause you didn’t want to be away from Travis, and were afraid that the marriage alliance between those two families might fall into your step-sister’s hands, but let me ask you, have you been happy? Has that man made you happy or even managed to make you smile since Rosa and her mother joined the Sawyers’ family?” he asked, and tears flowed down Elaine’s cheek

Elaine Parker had a smile on her face as she lit up the candles in the dining room. Today was her husband, Travis Parker's, birthday, and she wanted them to celebrate together. Just them alone without having friends and family around. She knew that Travis had been so busy in the last couple of months that he didn’t get time to even go back home, thus she hoped that this day, she could use it to force him to have a good rest.“When will you be back from work?” she texted him upon seeing that it was quite late and he wasn’t here yet.She had spoken to him in the morning and told him that she had a surprise for him in the evening, so she would be waiting for him. The man had promised to arrive early, but it was already past nine o’clock, yet he wasn’t present.Elaine took a deep breath, as this wasn’t the first time such a thing had happened, and was even ready to wait for him to come back. However, deep down, she was disappointed and tried her best not to think too much about all the ti
