Nathanial's perspective:

"Mira, what is this?" Moving to look closely at Cassie's eyes. The way the colour is completely gone, her body limp and lifeless. "Truth spell" she states as if it's obvious. "You said.." she scoffs, "I know what I said, but the laws of nature seem to be going out the window right now. Between Greta speeding along a fucking pregnancy and inducing a fuck fest for you, your brother and your mate and some higher witch than Greta clearly being involved. Someone had to make a big call, so I did" her voice angry and frustrated as she watches Cassie closely. Taking a deep breathe, I feel her power filling the room; her eyes changing as she she whispers under her breath, before her eyes glow, her voice strong as she says strongly, "Suscito" the Latin sounding especially creepy with the anger underlying her movements. Cassie's head moves sharply, her head moving as her blank eyes face Mira directly.

"When did Greta ask for your help with Nathanial?" Greta repeats, th

  • Conflicted - Twist of Fate.    An enemy returns.

Tristan's perspective: Mira doesn't even have a chance to respond to me; a loud bang echoes in the night, a blinding light follows, my eyes feel like their burning as Croxus burries his head in the dirt, trying to protect us. 'MIRA?' I yell through the link, 'Tristan stay..' her voice cuts off. 'Mira?!' I try again, knowing it's useless. They have her. They have everyone. 'What do we do Croxus?' An intense fear filling me as I try to think of any way to get through this. 'Connor we need backup, prepare the elite wolves to attack' I try to link, feeling something wrong instantly. 'Conn..' 'We're blocked' Croxus growls. 'We can't..' "Alpha Tristan" a voice I'd never thought I'd here again comes from in front of me. "Or should I say king" he scoffs, Croxus acts quickly, pushing to attack, but instead we are lifting from the ground, stuck in some kind of force field as we move through the sky. Dropped heavily in the middle of the opening. "So this is the so called king?" I woman

  • Conflicted - Twist of Fate.    Bringing life into the world.

Armina's perspective: It hurts. I knew it was going too. You'd think seeming we feel every single bone in our body break slowly during our first shift that this would be easy. Instead when the contractions come, I'm almost breaking Nathanial's hand as my body screams in agony. It isn't just the physical pain. I know Tristan is out fighting right now. I knew the moment he didn't rush to my side when Nathanial linked him. It's taking all of my will power not to reach out to him, it isn't in my nature to be left at home while the fighting happens. The only thing stopping me is knowing that I would be bringing more stress on my body and right now my body needs to focus on the bigger task at hand. Bringing my beautiful son and daughter into this world. "You are doing amazing baby" Nathanial keeps his voice calm; I meet his blue eyes as the pain slowly fades. "I'm sorry about your hand" I breathe, knowing it must be throbbing by now. He laughs softly, "I'll take the broken hand; you bring

  • Conflicted - Twist of Fate.    Show Time.

Nathanial's perspective: I'm holding onto Armina as she sleeps, her body taking random deep breaths as she rests. I can't help but wonder if she's having bad dreams, she feels tense even when she's meant to be peacefully resting. I hate seeing the way her expression keeps changing, like she's stressed even in her sleep. "I'm here" I repeat for what feels like the hundredth time. Hoping my voice brings her some kind of peace. Her body suddenly jerks, her eyes opening wide. "Armina?" I question, concerned. "Nathanial something is wrong" her hand reaching for her stomach. "AHHH" she screams, her body shaking. "I need Dr Green" her voice filled with pain. I link her straight away, telling her to hurry. Armina leans back, her breathing coming in pants. "Armina, baby; talk to me what's happening?" wishing Tristan was here. His always been better under pressure. "I think the babies are coming" she manages to say in between pants. 'Tristan, Armina needs you' I send to him privately, the re

  • Conflicted - Twist of Fate.    Heading into battle - Who will survive?

Tristan's perspective: I was going to go alone. When I left Mira's house, a memory was trying to be heard. Something odd about the location on the map. I pull it out, staring at the small burn. 'Just move already' Cole growls, ready to rip apart anyone found near the spot. Wait. Back of the pack grounds, pushing the border. Fuck. The burn site. The memory of the story coming fresh to my mind. 'We need to meet, now' I link Aiden, Mira, Layla & Shayne. I feel bad leaving Nathanial out of the loop but I know he'd fight to come. For once it wasn't his safety I was thinking about. It's Armina's and our pups. I need someone who I trust, someone strong to stay by her side. To make sure no one makes it past us and gets to her. The responses come quick, all of us moving to the lower level of the pack house. I'm tense as I throw the map down. Pointing to the burn mark, "There is an old cave on the border" I push my finger down near the burn, watching the confused expressions in the room.

  • Conflicted - Twist of Fate.    The protector - Now protected.

Mira: Never in my life have I felt the kind of loyalty and protectiveness from any individual. Whether it be a witch or a wolf. I've heard the whispers, felt the warnings from my ancestors about the darkness that lives in his soul. It couldn't be further from the truth.Seeing the love from Armina towards both Nathanial and Tristan had rocked my view of them. I had started to really admire Armina, feeling the kindness and softness from her heart whenever I was around her. I had felt the same from Tristan several times; but I always tried to deny it. Not wanting to believe that I had helped Sarah work against someone who really didn't deserve it. When I entered his memories, none of his actions had anything to do with his own needs. Even while being beaten badly, he still never worried about his own death, or cared about his own pain. All he saw was Nathanial. I know his fear of betrayal, how could he not after being raised by the monster who was meant to protect him. I felt the way

  • Conflicted - Twist of Fate.    Dark memories.

I wasn't normally one to mess with the dead. I had always held the belief that once a wolf had passed, the moon goddess decided their path. Whether or not she welcomed them into the grove, or let their souls pass into the dark realm. The day the first attack came after the summit, we had burried the enemies in a large grave, no markers; no honour of their memories. Luckily I was there when Ethan was dumped, dropped on top of his bastard son to side, near the large tree on the field. Cole is still filled with rage, giving us the strength to dig him up quickly. Not thinking of the depravity of my actions, I rip his hand from his decaying body, holding it in our teeth as Cole sprints towards Mira's house. When we turn, I realise I'm walking with a dead hand into the house of someone who has only just began to trust me. 'Probably a little dark' I mumble to Cole, not letting it stop me. "Mira?" I call out, "Come in" she calls, "Um, I feel like I should warn you" I start explaining as I
