It was nearly six o’clock at night when Eric woke up. By the time we got everything ready to go, it was just after seven. Eric explained we were taking his car, while a couple of warriors were taking another vehicle.

I didn’t know much about vehicles, but I had never seen one like the one we were sitting in now. Eric seemed to buzz with excitement when the car started. Faster than expected, we drove out of the garage the car had been parked in.

Now I understood the excitement Eric was exhibiting, I was beginning to feel it as well. When he had thrown it into gear and took off, I hadn’t prepared for the power the car had. It had been enough to press me against the seat.

It was exhilarating and made my heart race with delight. He didn’t let up until we were past the gate and on the highway. When he slowed down to a legal speed, I almost wanted to tell him to go faster.
