Chapter 55

Leilani-

I wasn’t sure how long I sat there holding him. All I knew was the sun was starting to go down and my right leg was falling asleep. It wasn’t that I minded though since I was going to do whatever I had to as long as it helped Eric.

“You didn’t have to come out here.” Eric spoke.

This had been the first time he had talked since I had arrived. He still sounded upset, although he seemed to have stopped crying. His voice was hoarse and cracked a bit, which was expected with how long he has been like this.

“I wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else.” I told him honestly.

Continuing to run my fingers through his hair, I didn’t feel the need to speak. If he wanted to tell me what was wrong, then I would listen, but I wasn’t going to pry. It was hard not to ask what had hurt him to this degree.
