Not wanting to discuss it in front of Kate, we waited until she left. From the look Tate was giving me, I was pretty sure he was on the same page that I was. The moment Kate walked away, I ushered Tate and Leilani into the room with Brook and our mother.

“What do you think?” I asked Tate, as my eyes wandered to my mother who was still crying, as she had been before I left.
