Chapter 5

"Have you gone crazy!? Why would I want to marry you? I barely even know you and you don't know me either, I even hate you!"

"Ouch." Jason pretended to be hurt by her last statement. "Look, I get it that we don't know each other very well, but I at least know somethings about you, as for the hate part, you'll come around eventually."

Amelia shook her head. "I knew it, you're nothing but a jerk." She made to leave but Jason held her hand.

"If you agree to marry me I'll take care of your mother's hospital bills, I'll pay for her surgery and clear all your debts, it's a contract marriage, we'll get divorced eventually and you'll be paid really well for it too." Jason hurriedly said.

Amelia slowly turned to face him. "What did you just say?" She asked, to be sure she heard him correctly.

"You heard me right Amelia, I'm willing to pay for your mother's medical bills until she's okay, all you have to do is agree to my condition and be my contract wife."

"I...I can't do that, I don't want to get into a contract marriage with you, you're a jerk!" She refused, but deep down she was asking herself if refusing was the right thing to do.

"Really Amelia? Are you sure about that? Why don't you think about this very well and see if you really want to reject my offer."

Amelia looked at him for a while, then she looked away.

"The choice is yours Amelia." Jason let go of her hand.

Amelia weighed her options, she did make a promise to her mother that she's going to do everything possible to make sure she gets better, and now this man was offering to help her make that come true, he was giving her a choice to save her mother's life and she can't just throw it away. She knew he was her only hope even though she hates him so bad.

Her boss words suddenly rang in her ears.

"Never miss an opportunity when you get one."

She closed her eyes tightly, heaved a deep breath and then agreed to be his contract wife.

Jason smiled in satisfaction. "You made a wise decision Amelia, you'll have to come with me to my office and sign the contract documents."

"W...what? So fast?" She asked in surprise.

"Trust me, I have no time to waste, so let's get this done immediately." He replied, then he told his driver to take them to his company.

"Hold on.'' Amelia yelled and the driver instantly stopped, she then turned to Jason. ''What about my mother, I...I can't just leave."

"Your mother will be fine Amelia, and I'm sure the nurses there aren't sleeping on duty, they'll take good care of her until you get back." He replied, then he asked his driver to drive and warned him not to stop for any reason this time.

"Yes Sir." His driver replied and drove off.

Soon they arrived at Jason's company and Amelia's jaw dropped in shock at the sight of the building in front of her.

"T...This is all yours?" She asked, not taking her eyes off the building.

Jason scoffed. "Of course, this is just one of them. I'm Jason Finn, one of the wealthiest billionaire in the city, this shouldn't come as a surprise to you." He bragged.

Amelia turned to look at him. "Right, brag about your wealth all you want." She scoffed. "Jerk!" She whispered.

A guard already rushed to open his door.

"Let's go." Jason said to her, he got out of the car first and Amelia followed suit.

When they got inside, Amelia was even more stunned, she's never been to any company like this before, the place was huge!. She was so lost staring at the company and wasn't focused on where she was going to. Jason suddenly stopped walking and she bumped into him.

"Ouch!" Amelia hissed in pain as she rubbed her forehead.

Jason turned to look at her. "Pay attention to where you're going to Amelia." He scolded.

Amelia frowned. "Yeah right, like it's my fault I ran into you." She replied sarcastically. "Had you not stop walking then—"

"Please." Jason cut her off. "Can you just stop talking for once, you've got a really sharp tongue and I hate it.'' He said in annoyance.

"You're crazy!" Amelia retorted.

Jason sighed, he knew it was pointless trying to argue with someone like her.

"Let's go." He led her to his private elevator which will take him directly to his office floor.

When they arrived at his office, Jason instantly went to business, he took out the contract documents which he already had prepared before hand, then he gave it to Amelia to sign.

"Well I can't just sign it without reading it, I don't trust you." She stated.

Jason scoffed. "Suit yourself." He replied then went to take a seat, Amelia also followed suit and took a seat.

She began going through the documents and that's when she realized that she's just seeing his name for the first time, she doesn't even know his name and she's about to get married to him.

"Good one Amelia, good one." She mentally scolded herself.

Her eyes caught sight of something and she gasp in shock, then she looked at him. "We're going to be married for three years!?"

"I'm not so sure about that, it might actually be less, once I get what I want, we can both go our separate ways."

"And what is it you want?" She didn't hesitate to ask.

Jason looked at her for a while before answering her question. "My inheritance.''

"Huh?"

"My parents are about willing everything that belongs to me to an orphanage home, the only way for me to stop them is to agree to their condition and get married, that's the only way I can secure my inheritance and that's the only reason I'm doing this."

"So you're willing to get married to anyone just to secure your inheritance? And why me? Don't you have a girlfriend or a fiance?"

"No I don't, I want nothing to do with love or marriage, and as for the question why you? You're the perfect person for this job, that's why I chose you, you can also think of it as my little way of helping you, you do need the help after all."

Amelia hated the fact that he was right. "Can I get a pen?" She asked.

Jason grabbed a pen, but before giving it to her he wanted to make something clear to her.

''Before you sign the documents and become my wife, there are three rules you must follow, Miss. Morgan.'' He drawled and she folded her arms.

''I can follow any rule as long as it doesn't intrude on my privacy.'' Amelia replied and he scoffed.

''Rule number one, drop that attitude. I will not tolerate you being all sassy with me. Rule number two, you are to put on an act in front of my parents, but don't get too touchy with me. And the last but most important rule is this, NEVER FALL IN LOVE WITH ME!'' He spelled it out, his eyes locked with hers.

''Sure, I will abide by your rules, Mr. Finn. The last thing I'd do in my life is fall in love with you, so the rules are easy-peasy.'' She shrugged.

Jason gave her his pen, after staring at him for a while, she signed the contract and gave it to him, he also signed it.

"The first stage is done, next we're going to go have our names registered officially as husband and wife."

"Ewwe." Amelia made an irritated face. "You don't have to say it like that."

"Hey, it's not like I want to get married to you anyways so don't think you're the only one who feels irritated by this."

Jason then stood up from his chair. "Let's get going."

"Hold on." Amelia stood up. "My mother's hospital bills, you did say you were going to pay them if I sign the contract." She reminded him.

"Of course.'' He fetched his phone from his pocket and called Mike.

Mike answered the call immediately.

"Hello Mike."

"Yes Jason."

"I'll need you to visit the hospital Amelia's mother is being treated and clear all their bills, also pay for her mother's surgery and make sure they commence treatment immediately, see to it that she's given proper care and attention, if anything arises, call me immediately."

"Okay Jason, I'm on it." Mike replied and Jason hung up.

"Shall we?"

Amelia let out a breath of relief, her legs gave out and she dropped to the chair. This whole thing felt like one big dream to her, one moment she was at the walking on the streets and the next she's getting married to someone she barely even know.

She felt so relieved that her mother's hospital bills has been cleared and her surgery has also been taken care of, but at the same time worried about how her life changed in just a few minutes. She wondered what her mother would think when she wakes up and realizes her daughter is married to the wealthiest Billionaire in the city.

"Get up Amelia, there's no time to waste, and I do hope you know that we'll have to live together from now on since we're married."

"What!?" Amelia stood up. "I don't want to live with you!" She protested.

"And do you think I want to live with you too?" Jason snapped. "You have no choice Amelia, in order for this marriage to look real, we'll have to act like a real couple and you moving in with me is part of that act." He stated.

Amelia really didn't like this part of the contract, but she has no other option than to agree.

"Fine, as you wish."
