I played with Ava all day long, with the hopes of forgetting that I was not okay with the fact that my husband was having an 'almost work' lunch with another woman. The daughter of another company. She was definitely more prettier, and more eloquent cos she must have gone to one of the best schools in the country, or even abroad.

I ran my fingers through Ava's fur, she had been on my lap, watching TV with me. I was not actually fully concentrating on what was on, I had been taking glances at the parking lot through the window, hoping I would get a sight of his car driving in. That did not happen. I gave up on waiting, already filled with anger as to why he had been taking so long. Handing Ava to Jane, I walked up to my room to take an afternoon nap, hoping that he would be home by the time I wake up.

My eyes opened two hours later, wondering how I was able to sleep that long, I was happy I did, I woke up, eraded of the anger I had gone to bed with
