Katie's Pov
My eyes opened to a completely white room. This was not the farmhouse Max held me in, I thought as I looked around. Then It dawned on me, I was in a hospital.There was an empty chair just beside my bed which meant someone had been sitting there. I was still trying to understand what was going on when someone walked into the room.“You're up bunny”, hearing his voice brought tears to my eyes. He finally came for me.“You're here”, I whispered as he came close to me.“How did I end up here?”, I looked around fearing Max was around somewhere.“You don't remember?”, he asked as he sat on the chair beside me.“I don't think so”, I shook my head as I tried to remember.“I came for you. Katie's Pov It's been three days since Josiah rescued me from the hell house Max held me hostage in. . It's been three days since I woke up in the hospital and today I was finally going home. I was so excited, grinning from ear to ear as the plugs and tubes were pulled out of me. “You ready?”, Josiah leaned on the door frame and looked at me with warm eyes. “You bet”, I displayed the top half of my teeth as I smiled widely.He chuckled lightly as he walked towards me. He held my hand and helped me to my feet. “I can walk by myself you know”, I mumbled when he started leading me out the door.“Of course”, he let go of my hand and we shared a short laugh.We ran into the doctor on our way out and he congratulated me on my full recovery. As we made our way out of the building, memories of all the moments we shared in the hospital flashed through my thoughts. It really has been one hell of a roller-coaster.

The cry of my newborn filled the room as Josiah handed her to me with the sweetest smile on his face. I could not control my tears as they rolled down both sides of my face. “It's a girl”, he said to me with a shaky voice. I looked up at him and my eyes widened.
