Katie's Pov

The sound of the drapes pulling backwards and the ray of sunshine that peeked through the windows to rest on my face, reminded me I was still alive. And my baby girl was gone.

I rubbed my eyes with the back of my palm as rolled to the other side. Josiah wasn't there. I picked up my phone and looked at the time. I sighed, he must have left for work already.

I dragged myself out of bed to the bathroom to get ready. I would be riding with Ma and Suri to the airport to catch their flight back home. Ma was not strong enough to travel yet but she insisted she had to be here. She tried to be strong for me during Sunshine’s funeral but I could see it. She was hurt.

Suri on the other hand was simply devastated. She cried until her eyes were swollen and wouldn't eat for the first few days. She had always wanted a little sister and just when she had adjusted perfectly into her big sister role, the universe took it away from her.
