Chapter 5 A Proposal

POV Ayesha

He clears off a chair and puts it in front of his desk and gestures for me to sit.

I sat down and stared at him wide eyed excited to hear what this is about.

“I have a proposal for you, Ayesha. I need an heir. It’s been over 200 years with no luck. The closest was a girl who had a demon wolf. My father killed her when she was halfway through the pregnancy. Father is dead now, so he can’t hurt you.”

“I’m willing to pay off your father's debts and give you and your sisters a comfortable life in return. The moment your pregnancy is confirmed. I will give you the option of being my wife. I’m sure your father would prefer you to be married if we have a child together. After the birth, you can stay and raise the child or leave."

“Can I have time to think about it?” Stella is yelling yes in my head and dancing around.

“Yes, I will allow you to go home for up to three weeks to think about it. The car will pick you up in two days’ time. In the meantime, you will stay in my room with me.”

“Deal.”

“We have to discuss one more thing.”

Katherine comes in the room and stands in the corner. Thanatos gestures for her to come closer.

“Katherine, I understand you and Ayesha have not been getting along.”

Katherine nods

“Use your words.”

“Yes, Sir. I tried to whip her for breaking a vase while cleaning, and her wolf chased after me, hitting me with the whip.”

Thanatos smiles. “What’s the solution here? Do I need to replace you, Katherine, or can you find a way to get along with Ayesha?”

Katherine looks shocked by Thanatos's answer. She probably thought Thanatos would be angry I avoided punishment for breaking the vase.

“We will find a way to work it out, sir.”

“As long as Ayesha is not injured, as she is my future breeder, then I’ll leave it to you ladies to work out. You both are dismissed.” Thanatos raises a brow and watches us both leave.

The minute we’re out of Thanatos’ earshot. Katherine grabs my shirt and yells at me. “You'd better watch yourself, young lady. You got lucky this time. Thanatos is always going to take my side. Next time you won’t be so lucky.”

Stella slaps her across the face, and she lets go.

We hear a noise in the direction we came from and look. Thanatos is standing there with a smile on his face. We both look at each other and go our separate ways.

“Hello,” says the girl I was cleaning with earlier.

“Hey!”

“Everything okay after the meeting with the boss man? Katherine was certain he would let her punish you for chasing her with the whip.”

“I’m Ayesha. What is your name?”

“My name is Mya.”

“He let me off this one time.” I smile.

“That’s good news. I was worried. You seem like such a nice girl. Katherine loves picking on the nice girls.”

“I’ll be careful. I’ll stick to working in the garden for now.”

“Ew, working in the dirt with worms and bugs?”

“I love it, and so does my wolf.”

“Your wolf is weird.”

“What do you do for fun around here?”

“Um… sleep, eat candy, go for runs.”

“Do you want to go for a run tonight?”

“I’m not allowed. Boss man wants the forest cleared before we’re allowed to take our wolves for a run. A bunch of rogues attacked one of the staff members. Apparently, they came back with a silver arrow and survived.”

“Oh wow! Who was that?” I smile.

“Nobody's talking about it. It’s top secret or something. Everyone thinks it’s Logan; he’s immune to silver.”

“Really?”

“Ya apparently it’s his gift.”

Was kind of hoping he was a demon wolf too. I head for Thanatos’ room and have a shower. When I come out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel. I notice a dress laid out on the bed for me in my size with a pair of shoes.

I had just finished getting dressed when Thanatos comes in. “You will be accompanying me for an early dinner.” He says, then heads to the shower.

He leaves the bathroom door open. He strips in front of me and steps in the shower. Stella and I are sitting there drooling as we watch a Greek god strip in front of us, revealing his bare skin, huge muscles and incredibly sexy ass. The smell of wood fire fills the room, and Stella is fighting me to jump in the shower with him fully dressed.

He comes out with his hair wet and walks into the bedroom as I do my best to catch my breath. My heart is pounding, and I feel like I’m going to pass out. He walks into the walk-in closet and, almost like magic, he comes out fully clothed.

“I have a gift for you.” He smiles.

He has a small jewelry box in his hand. Stella thinks it’s an engagement ring and gets all excited. She’s purring in my head.

“I need you to close your eyes and turn around so you can’t see your surprise yet.”

“Okay,” I giggle

I feel him put his arms around me, and then he gently kisses my cheek. I feel tingling throughout my whole body from his kiss. It's orgasmic.

Suddenly, a searing pain shoots through my chest to the back of my neck. I collapse on the floor. I see Thanatos above me smiling. Then everything goes black.
