"This is wrong. She’s my sister now. I’m supposed to kill every feeling I have for her," I muttered. I’ve always had feelings for her ever since we were in grade school. But I didn’t know how to tell her, so I bullied her instead. I followed her to college because I couldn’t stay away from her. I knew she’d never agree to go out with me. Hearing the news about her mom and my dad getting married was like a dagger to my chest. At first, I thought it would be a good thing if she became my sister, maybe my feelings for her would disappear. But they didn’t. .................... After a terrible heartbreak, Abigail found comfort in her stepbrother. That’s when she realized he had been harboring feelings for her all along and she felt the same. But such love is forbidden.

My name is Abigail Jones, I'm 21 years old. I have brown eyes and plump lips. Here I am sitting in church with a forced smile on my face as I watch my mom getting married to someone who is not my dad. Don't get me wrong, I am happy for her but the problem is the man she is getting married to has a son and he has been a pain in my ass since grade school. Derick and I have been enemies since grade school, I still remember how he'd bully me. When we got into college, I was so happy that I'd never get to see him again but to my greatest surprise he followed me there and now he is following me to my new dad's house. "You may now kiss the bride." The voice of the priest pulled me out of my thoughts. I watched as my step dad and mom kissed, I turned to my step brother Derick, who was already staring at me with a smirk on his face, he said 'Welcome to family dear sister.' I feel like puking right now. "Congratulations Mom and Samuel," I congratulated my mom and stepdad. "Thank you, honey, thank you for everything, sweetheart." Mom hugged me, I know she was grateful to me because I didn't stop her from marrying the man of her dreams after my dad abandoned her for someone else. "Thank you, Abby." Samuel smiled, and I smiled back at him. The wedding was finally over, I could go back home and lock myself in my room, and to think mom would be going for her honeymoon with Samuel, I can't be left alone with this jerk. "Abby, snap out of your thoughts." I heard Samuel say, I blinked back twice. "I'm sorry." I quickly apologized. "It's okay honey, I know all this is still new to you. Luckily Derick is handling it well, I know I have to give you time to get acquainted with your new life." This is one of the reasons why I love Samuel for my mom, he knows how to make me feel relaxed, he never rushes me to do something and he has never forced me to do something I don't like. "Derick and Abby, your dad and I will be going for our honeymoon, you two will have to live together all by yourself for two weeks, please try to get along, do not kill each other." Although it sounded like a joke, Mom was genuinely worried. "I'll try, " I mumbled. "I can't promise, she is annoying." Derick, I couldn't help but roll my eyes at him. Derick and I waved our parents goodbye as their car drove off, I suddenly missed my mom. "So little sister. ..." The sarcasm in his voice was getting on my nerves. "Let's go home." Home, is it my home? "There's no need for that, I'll be going to Ruth's, I'll be there until Mom comes back." I don't want to stay with him, I'm going to lose my mind if I do that. "That can't happen, Your mother put me in charge of you, you can't go to Ruth's unless I say so. So come on little Abigail, get in the car, I'll drive you home." Before I could argue with him, he had already entered the car, I had no choice but to join him. Why will Mom put him in charge of me anyway? I'm 21, I'm old enough to take care of myself, I don't need him. The journey back home was silent, I am grateful for that because I don't want to hear his annoying voice. "There's food in the fridge, I hope you know how to use the microwave. Do not enter my room, stay out of my side." Derick said I went upstairs. "That was the plan, I don't want to see your annoying face anyways!" I yelled so he'd catch what I said. I went to my room and changed into something free. I wore an oversized shirt, tied my chestnut brown hair into a loose ponytail, and went to the kitchen to make myself something to eat. I was craving for anything special, I only wanted instant noodles. "Why does she like doing this? She knows I'm short but she keeps putting the box on the top shelf." He groans in frustration. I stood on my tippy toes to reach the box of instant noodles on the top shelf but I still couldn't reach it. All of a sudden, a shadow hovered over me, and a pack of instant noodles was placed on my head. I turned to face the person who helped and it was none other than Derick, he placed his left hand on the kitchen slab next to me and the other hand on the cupboard, he lowered himself down so he could gaze into my eyes. He said, "I told you there's food in the fridge, are you doing this on purpose?" He asked, staring down at me like dice. "What are you talking about? First of all, move." I pushed him, "Secondly, I don't feel like having what's in the fridge. And thirdly, why are you being weird? You think helping me with a pack of instant noodles would make me forgive you for torturing me throughout grade school and college?" He laughed and scoffed, "Who said I was trying to make you forgive me? I wasn't apologizing little Abby, get out of my sight." He pushed me out of the way, opened the fridge, grabbed a bottle of water, and left. Derick's POV I entered my room and shut the door, opened the bottle of water, and gulped down the entire bottle of water. My mind recalled what I had seen earlier. Abby stood on her toes to reach the top shelf, she looked so sexy in what she was wearing. I could see her thigh, the thought of it made my dick twitch. "This is wrong, she is my sister now. I am supposed to kill every feeling I have for her." I muttered. I've always had feelings for her, since when we were in grade school but I didn't know how to tell her so I bullied her instead. I followed her to college because I couldn't stay away from her, I knew she'd never agree to go out with me. Hearing the news about her mom and my dad getting married was like a dagger in my chest. But then I thought it'd be a good thing because if she became my sister, my feelings for her would automatically disappear but they didn't. I don't know why I can't tell her about my feelings for her, every time I try my words just get stuck in my throat like a lump. I've been stalking her on social media, it's the only place I can look at her without being scared. I know I should have led her go to Ruth's but that means I'd be able to keep an eye on her. She is weak, clumsy, and very vulnerable. She may act tough, especially with me, but I know that she can't protect herself. I got a notification from I*, that she had posted the wedding pics on her i***a. I zoomed in on her pics to get a clear view of her face, and in the process of doing that, I mistakenly liked her post. "Why are you stalking me?" A message from her popped. "Stalking you? You must be delusional. I only liked the post because I am in it. Why did you post a pic with me in it?" I quickly changed the topic hoping she forgets about the previous one. "It's none of your business, stop being annoying, and don't like any of my posts again." And just like that, our conversation ended. "What would happen when she starts seeing someone?" This question has been ringing in my head nonstop. I know she is seeing someone but I also know they aren't official yet, what'd happen when they became official?"Abby," I heard him calling my name but I ignored him, I wanted to be alone. I don't need my big brother, all I need is me and this cold floor."Abigail if you don't open this door right now I'm going to break it." He threatened, with a sigh I stood up and opened the door for him."What do you want Derick, leave me alone." My eyes stinked."I don't want you to be alone." He pushed himself inside my room and shut the door, took hold of my hand, and took me to my bed. "Sit down." He ordered I did as I was told."I know what you are going to say, 'told you so.." I rolled my eyes."No, I'm not going to say that although I want to. But I'm not because it's also my fault for not telling you what I saw.""What do you mean Derick? What did you see?" I looked him dead in the eye waiting for him to explain himself."The other day I saw him in a restaurant with a different lady, and no it wasn't Ruth. I wanted to tell you about it but I didn't want to be the bearer of bad news and I didn't want
Abby's POVDerick has been acting strange lately, I feel like he has something to tell me but he is holding back, sometimes I catch him staring at me with a look that makes my heart drop."Here is your cake." The cashier said, I'm at a cake store, today's Alex's birthday, I'm so excited, this is the first time I'll be celebrating his birthday with him. And guess what, it's Saturday so I don't have work, I plan on spending the weekend in his place. We've been dating for a month now and we've never spent quality time together, we've never been intimate with him, it's my fault because I've always been busy. I want to make it up to him."I collected my cake and paid for it," humming to a tune that has been stuck in my head for a long time.Max opened the car door for me, I thanked him and went in. He'll be taking me to Alex's, Derick said I shouldn't go there by Public transportation. On her way to his home, I thought about the things we'd do together, I couldn't help but blush. When we a
This movie is crazy, just thirty minutes into it and I've cried my eyes out, I want to stop watching but I can't. My eyes are glued to the screen, I just can't stop watching. The movie finally came to an end, my eyes were completely red and swollen. "Why did you decide to watch such a movie?" Ruth was in the same condition as me. "Because I heard people talking about it, I wanted to see if it was a nice movie. Now I know." She stood up and went to the kitchen, she came back a few seconds later with two glasses of water. We watched a lot of movies, and we laughed and cried, it's moments like this that I cherish the most when I'm with her. "It's getting late, I think I should start heading home." "Awww but I still want you here," she pouted, I giggled, she looked cute. "I don't want to leave either but I have to." I pulled out my phone and texted Derick. "I still have like thirty minutes or more before my ride gets here, let's make the most of it." We used that thirty minutes to
I tensed up when I heard what she said, 'Am I being obvious?' I asked myself but got no reply. "But don't worry, we both know that you can never have feelings for me, after all, we are siblings." She disengaged from the hug and kissed my cheeks. She pulled away and pointed at the coffee mug, "Don't drink too much coffee." She said and left. I breathed out the air I didn't know I was holding, I sighed and returned to my seat, I picked up the coffee mug and had a taste of what she made. The coffee she brewed was strong and dark, I liked it. Weeks passed by quickly, Abby was busy with her job, and I saw less for her at home, I know it's supposed to make me happy but it doesn't, my feelings for her are still the same. The little time I get to see her, she's always on her phone talking to that douchbag. Abby's POV I wasn't wrong when I gave Alex a second chance, he has been the best boyfriend ever, and he has always been so supportive of me. My job is tiring and demanding, I barely
"Take them to my office," I instructed the driver. "Look, Derick is back." I heard Abby's voice from the living room, I could hear my parents' voices. "Good evening Mom and Dad," my stepmom opened her hands for a hug, I couldn't resist it, I needed it. I hugged her, I went as far as laying down next to her and putting my head on her thigh while she ran her hands through my hair. "How was work today?" She asked. "Tiring." I gave a short reply, my eyes landed on Abby, she was staring at me with a smile on her face. "You brought work back home." Abby pointed out the obvious. "Yeah, thanks I didn't realize," I muttered trying to sound sarcastic she stuck out her tongue, and it made me laugh. "I have loads of paperwork, I decided to bring some back home to kill time with..... Dad, Mom said you fell ill, how are you feeling now?" I decided to change the topic. "I'm feeling much better," Dad replied. I hummed. "Dinner is served," I heard the voice of the maid I forgot we had, mom ha
