Sabrina’s POV

The sun filtered through the sheer curtains in a soft, golden haze, painting streaks of warm light across the sheets tangled around our bodies.

I blinked slowly, savoring the delicious ache that still hummed through me from the night before.

Michal’s arm was draped across my waist, his bare chest rising and falling behind me. His breath stirred the loose strands of my hair as he pulled me closer.

Instinctively curling his body around mine like he was trying to shield me from even the morning itself.

I smiled sleepily, running my fingers gently over the back of his hand. Every inch of me felt cherished—worshipped, even. Last night hadn’t just been romantic.

It had been… everything. A reminder of the love that never dulled. A spark that never faded.

“You’re staring at me again,” Michal mumbled against my neck, his voice still heavy with sleep.

“I like what I see,” I teased softly.

He groaned and shifted, his hand sliding up to rest just under my ribs, f

Sabrina POV “UNCLE LUCA!” A blur of curls and pink barreled into the hallway like a tornado. Aubree—my sunshine, my miracle, my daughter—flung herself at Luca before he had time to brace. He caught her awkwardly, wide-eyed, and stared at her like he couldn’t believe she was real. “You came!” she grinned, hugging his neck. “Daddy said maybe, but I didn’t think you would!” Luca’s arms wrapped around her with a kind of reverent slowness. “You’ve gotten so big.” “Duh! I’m TEN now,” she announced proudly. “And I missed you, even if Mommy says you moved away for a while.” My cheeks burned. Luca glanced at me over her head, a flicker of amusement behind the guilt in his eyes. “I missed you too, sunshine,” he murmured. She pulled back, hands on his shoulders. “Are you staying this time?” He hesitated, then looked at me. I nodded. “If he wants to.” By the time Sebastian appeared in the hallway, his expression unreadable, the tension was already palpable. Carter and

Sabrina’s POV The last of the streamers had fallen. The confetti had stopped dancing midair. And somewhere in the living room, a cluster of half-eaten cupcakes sat forgotten on a paper plate while “Happy Birthday” gift bags were piled high near the stairs. Aubree’s tenth birthday party had been a dream. But now—blessed silence. I sank into the sofa with a sigh, kicking off my heels. My dress was crumpled from chasing kids and dancing with twins. Carter and Able—who insisted they were Aubree’s “personal mafia bodyguards.” Sebastian had beamed at that one. Aubree was upstairs, passed out mid-sentence while reading one of her new fantasy books. Michal had tucked her in, kissed her forehead, and lingered longer than usual by her door. When he came back downstairs, something about the way he looked at me made my stomach flip. That quiet intensity. That unreadable smirk. “What?” I asked, already suspicious. He held out a single finger. “Don’t move.” I blinked. “W

Michal’s POV There are moments in life where the world just… pauses. For me, this was one of them. I stood at the edge of the backyard, just under the pergola strung with fairy lights, watching our daughter twirl through a swirl of pink and gold balloons like she was made of sunshine and stardust. Aubree. My girl. Ten years old today. The love I had for her was not something that fit into words. It wasn’t soft or pretty. It was fire and steel. A constant hum beneath my skin. A relentless ache to protect, to shield, to never let the world so much as touch her without my permission. I scanned the yard again. Men were posted on the outer perimeter—dressed casually, but alert. My men. Eyes sharp. Earpieces discreetly. I didn’t care if this was a child’s birthday party—we were who we were. And I refused to let anything or anyone threaten my family ever again. Especially not today. “Hey, tough guy.” Sabrina’s voice cut through the mental checklist I was running in my h

SABRINA’S POV The backyard had been transformed. Rows of pastel-colored balloons swayed in the warm breeze, tied to every chair, every post, every available corner. White tables with rose gold runners sat in perfect lines beneath the trellis, each place set with glass plates, cloth napkins folded like tiny dresses. Cupcake towers that sparkled in the sun. The air smelled like vanilla cake, cotton candy, and lilac. A pink-and-gold bounce house dominated the far end of the lawn, filled with screaming laughter, tulle skirts, and glitter face paint. Music played low under the noise of squealing children, and somewhere near the gift table, one of the twins was arguing about cupcake strategy like it was a military mission. It was perfect. Absolutely chaotic. And perfect. Because today.. My daughter turned ten. Aubree. My whole world. She darted between tables in her custom birthday dress—layers of soft pink tulle trimmed with tiny sewn-in pearls. Her curls bounced w

Shelly’s POV It was quiet again. Aubree was napping. The baby monitor crackled softly in the corner, Sabrina’s laugh echoed faintly from the hallway where she and Michal had gone to steal a few minutes of peace. Afternoon sun warmed the polished floor, casting long golden shadows over the couches and armchairs in the sitting room. I sat curled on the velvet sofa, a soft throw blanket draped across my lap, both hands resting on the gentle curve of my belly. It was still small—just a whisper of roundness beneath my sweater—but enough to be real. Enough that I felt it, every day, like a promise blooming just beneath the surface. Our baby. Ours. I still couldn’t say it without tearing up.I shifted slightly, adjusting the plush pillow behind my back. “You’re going to be dramatic like me,” I whispered down at my stomach. “I can feel it already.” I still hadn’t fully wrapped my head around it. One heartbeat had been enough to steal my breath, but when Dr. Gray had smiled
