Chapter 19 - Meeting of Truth

Alpha Abigail’s POV

Christov and I sat in the loveseat and Momma and Daddy sit on the couch waiting for Nonna, I left the door open so she could walk right in as we all sit and chat about how big Alexander is getting.  He is playing in the corner with some building blocks by himself and now I wish I had gotten Dimitri or Teresa to take him with them.  I soft knock hits the door, and I turn, and Dimitri is standing there, “I’ll be happy to take little man in with the rest of us and start the movie, if you want me to.”

I smile at him, “Thanks Dimi that would be great,” Christov stands and scoops up Alex to give him to Dimitri when Momma stops him.

“Dimitri you were speaking with Brooklyn out in the garden, is she okay?”  She shifts uncomfortably.

He nods, “yes, she was fine,” he smiles at Alex as Christov hands him over to him and turns and leaves as Nonna walks in and shuts the door behind him.

She sits on the chair and takes a deep breath and looks at us all, “I’m sorry and I should have told you this when she was born, but we thought,” she looks at Momma, “we thought that it would pass her, that my mother would live much longer and wouldn’t move to our sweet Brooklyn. 

Dad uncrosses his legs and leans forward, “Rose, what passed to Brooklyn from Nonna?”

She holds up her hand, “let me start from the beginning, it will be easier for you to understand and answer many questions you will have.  She looks at me then at Momma, “the DeLuca bloodline and the wolves that we have, we are blessed by the moon goddess, with gifts, it has been this way forever as far as I know, this is why we present our little ones on the first full moon after their birth so they receive our goddess’ blessing and to ensure that this one wolf will be dormant.”  She fidgets with her fingers, “My mother, she was not blessed because her mother didn’t believe in it, she thought the DeLuca’s were crazy.”  She shakes her head, “my momma died when she was a toddler when she fell into a stream, she was only gone a minute, but it was long enough for her wolf spirit to leave and the Crimson wolf to be passed to her and it was.” 

Christov mind links me, “Dimitri said your Bisnonna was scary, the first time he met her.”

I arched a brow to him, then look at Nonna, “Nonna, what are you saying, that Bisnonna passed this Crimson wolf to someone?”

She nodded, “not just to someone, to Brooklyn.”

I smiled at her, “Brooklyn has Bisnonna’s wolf, that’s pretty cool actually.”

She shakes her head, “No, no it’s not, you don’t understand, your Bisnonna,” she sucked in a large breath,  “she killed her own parents,” her eyes filled with tears as she looked at Momma, “her wolf did it to stay at the Midnight pack, she knew that Vincent was her mate, she stayed there to watch him, to make sure no one got him, to ensure he would behave,” her tears spilled out of her eyes.  She waved her hand, “My Momma was devastated by what happened, she didn’t remember doing any of it, but the family covered it up and kept her at Midnight, Vincent was scared of her until he marked her, then the wolf calmed down, but she was still powerful.”  She looked at Momma, “Charlie, I’m so sorry but we need to keep her close and watch her, if her wolf finds her mate, she might not tell Brook, she may cause havoc if he isn’t loyal to her.”

Christov shakes his head, “so you are saying that this wolf will know her mate and not tell her human?”

She nods, “yes, she won’t tell her, she’s a crazy wolf, she will stalk him, manipulate her mate, she could also cause harm to him or anyone else that might get close to him, if she perceives it as a threat to her bond.  She’s so young, it could take years for her to find her mate and that’s not good either, she will shift early, since she is already talking to Brooklyn, and pushing through.”

I look at Momma as I asked Nonna, “What do you mean pushing through?”

Momma looks at me, then at Daddy, “she’s pushing through already, her eyes yesterday at your house, her canines during Teresa’s party, Sofia told me.”

Dad leans back, “her ears last week, when Ava was here, she seen it.”

Nonna sighs, “if she is pushing through her mate is here, so we need to find out who he is and make sure that we keep them both safe and all the rest of us, until she is old enough to be marked.”

Christov raises his hand, “let’s ask her,” he shrugs looking at Momma, “Luna Charlie, you talked to Boris when I met you, can’t you talk to Crimson, tell her to behave and be a good girl and just wait for her mate.”

I watch Momma, she shakes her head, “No, she won’t speak with me, I know she’s there and I talk to her, but she doesn’t’ answer.”  She holds Daddy’s hand tightly as she looks at me, “we all need to be careful around her, but if she starts shifting, one of us needs to be around her, to hold her and call Brooklyn back the surface.”

Christov looks at us, “she knows who her mate is, she won’t tell us, and she is dangerous to Brooklyn and all of us, until she can be marked, and she is only like 10.”  He shakes his head, “this is going to be a long 8 years.”

I nudge Christov with my arm, “she’s 16, she’s just small, like Momma.”

Nonna shakes her head,” she will shift early, and Brooklyn might be able to scent him and will know and hopefully tell us.”

Dad looks at Momma and I can tell they are mind linking with each other, she shakes her head and then pouts at him, when a knock hits the door and we all turn to see Brooklyn walking in, her eyes are glowing red and she smirks at Momma and growls as her ears grow and Daddy moves quickly picking her up and running out of the room with all of us right behind him.
