LOGINAlpha Theon Blackwood, a 25-year-old Alpha of the Blackwood Pack, rules with an iron fist, valuing power above all, shaped by a painful past that he overcame through his first kill, earning him respect. His life takes an unexpected turn when he is forced to shelter and protect relatives, including a 20-year-old human girl named Leah, revealed through his older brother's secrets. Leah, who has just lost her parents, is now responsible for raising her three werewolf siblings as a human, facing new dangers and forced to trust the werewolf pack led by the forceful Alpha Blackwood. Despite werewolves not typically keeping secrets, Leah discovers the Blackwood Pack is full of deadly secrets.
View MoreAs a child, I once saw a stone avalanche in the mountains at the edge of our territory.
The Beta of my pack told me then that all this strength, all this force came from the movement of a tiny rock. He said that just one stone is sometimes enough to wake up the force so unstoppable that the only thing you can do later is to observe the changes you cannot do anything about.
Years later, I will think about it again when suddenly I will come face to face with once again a very powerful force against which I will be completely helpless.
But now I am unbothered by it, now the thing that matters the most is my pride.
My strength is what makes me proud; my fighting skills are what makes me proud. The territory of the Blackwood pack is something that makes me proud. My pack is what makes me proud. For the last seven years, since I became an Alpha at the age of 20, I have made it one of the strongest packs in this country. We are feared, respected, prosperous, admired, and I'm proud, and I'm proud of what I have achieved.
Right now, I'm sitting in my office with my Beta, Third, and Head Warriors; we are discussing the probability of expanding the territories and recent hunters' movements.
My older brother is sitting in the corner and patiently listening to our discussion from time to time giving his advice. I value his advice, and I value how great support he gives me.
He could have been an Alpha himself, but when he was 20, and I was 16, he and our father stopped talking with each other, and his wolf became visibly weaker. I have never known what happened between them, but at some point, Hayden decided to give up his claim to Alpha's title, and our father chose to put all his hopes in me, and even though he was rough and strict,
I'm so proud I'm his son.
I am also happy that becoming the Alpha didn't cost me my brother. That he accepted my rule and supports me every day.
Suddenly I hear a painful howl, and Hayden falls to the floor, clutching his chest and crying painfully. Immediately we are all next to him, trying to help, but he shivers and keeps sobbing.
"Rose," he finally says, looking at one of our pack's omegas who is in charge of all the housework in the packhouse. She immediately grabs his hands and looks at him, frightened.
"My mate is dead," he says slowly, as tears keep coming down his face.
"Your daughter is dead, Rose," he whispers before he passes out.
"What the hell," I yell," since when Hayden had a mate!!!"
At that moment, I'm still unaware of the fact that the first stone has started to move, and soon it will be destined to move more rocks which will soon become an avalanche that will change my life forever.
Leah POV It's been ten days now.10 days till Theon and our pack warriors will leave to fight the common enemy of the werewolf's world. The funny thing is, I think our pack warriors. I wonder, since when I started to think about this place as my home, since when I started to feel connected with people living here, since when I started to worry about the future of children who are growing up here?Since all our allies and their warriors went home to make the final preparation, we live under the illusion of peace and quiet.Kyle's wounds get healed, unfortunately, only those physical ones. He still spends most of his time in his room, still sad, still hurt. Even though we are most of the time together, and I can see that he is slightly better, I become painfully aware that something in him is broken, something he may never be able to mend back together.I still don't know what he thinks about gaining two older brothers so unexpectedly. Both Hayden and Theon are extremely busy lately bu
Theon POVI wake up in the morning engulfed with the most delightful scent.I take a look at Leah sleeping soundly in my arms, and I can't stop a warm feeling in my chest even though my heart is still heavy; the events of yesterday keep hunting me. I put my nose into her hair, inhaling, feeling as if she was the only light in the darkness that surrounds me.I think about what she did for me yesterday after my breakdown. No one has held me for many years, no one has comforted me for many years, and no one has been so close to me for many years.Yesterday, after I stopped sobbing in her arms, she made me get up and helped me clean myself from all the blood and sweat, or should I say she cleaned me herself. I was so numb. There was no will to do anything in me. I just allowed her to do whatever she wanted. Her touch was very soothing, gentle, and full of care. I think I have never been handled with such care in my whole life, as if I was important, as if I was worth being taken care of.
Leah POV When other Alphas entered the room, I could literally feel the tension building up.I don't care how, but I want this to end with suffering; I want them to be punished painfully.Theon sits behind his desk; Tony is on his right as I stand on his left side. I'm close enough so both he and Byron could smell me all the time. Ryan with Hank is sitting in front of the desk opposite Mikkeli; well, Ryan sits while Hank is standing behind his chair.Four other Alphas are also present. Two of them are Theon’s friends: Alpha Damon and Alpha Natasha. The other two are, of course, Alphas, who used to spend so much time with Alpha Ryan. Well, I guess they're all here to make sure that Ryan and Theon won't kill each other.I don't like the way Ryan is looking at us, almost offended, as if his being here was humiliating. He should feel humiliated after what his warriors have done. Hank avoids looking at Theon; he seems to be tired and embarrassed. And Theon, well, his eyes keep shifting be
Leah POV During the next few days, I have been trying not to think too much about what Jake had toldme. He was right about one thing, though; it will be all or nothing. If I stay here, I will be Theon’s Luna. If he decides that he doesn't want to mark me, I will leave, and there will be no "between".I will have all of Theon, or I will have none of him; that much is certain.I also have been thinking about what Jake said about Hayden, about his supposed feelings towards me. Hayden is my friend, it took me a while to accept him as such, and I'm scared that something like unrequired feelings may destroy it. Plus, he's my brother's father, and we have to raise my siblings together whether we like it or not, so the situation between us should be clear and not complicated."Leah, can you bring this to the garden shed?" Rose's voice makes me get focused on the present moment. It's evening, the warriors have already finished their dinner, and most are probably already in their quarters. Ha
