Chapter 3 - My 18th Birthday

Teresa’s POV

I’m surprised I’m not woken up early as it’s the usual for my Momma on our birthdays. I let out a long breath as I pulled my eye cover off my face and slowly opened my eyes.  My brows furrow as I realize that it’s still dark out and I turn my head to the clock and roll my eyes at myself, “4:30am, what am I doing awake.”  I yawn and roll to my side and close my eyes, but it’s no use, I’m wide awake and ready to roll.  I throw the covers from my body and jump out of bed and head for the ensuite, “I’m going to look like shit at my own party, I’ll need loads of make up to cover up the bags under my eyes,” I shake my head looking at myself in the mirror, I don’t know why my body is acting this way, it’s got its own mind and wants nothing more than to train and I hate training.

Lately I’ve spent my Saturday mornings watching the Gamma’s training the warriors and I have to admit that I’m only interested in one of the males and he pays me no attention, as if I don’t exist.  It’s more than appealing when he is hot and sweaty, his skin glistens in the sun when he removes his shirts.  I’m 18 today and if I find he is my mate, goddess help him, I’ll tear his clothes off in front of the entire pack and take him right there.  I’ve watched all the fated couples around me for years, but watching how Alpha Christov treats my sister is beyond sexy, he is always touching her, and he is to die for gorgeous, she’s very lucky.

I stand in my closet and look for something to wear, there’s so much to choose from, I giggle and pull out a short, light green dress that hugs my curves and shows off my long legs, I pair it with matching heels and french-braid my long black hair, that hangs just above my ass.  I look like my mother, thank the goddess, I watched Abi fight with all those curls, and I love my sleek black hair, if I want to curl it I can, but I don’t deal with frizzy hair.

I sit at my vanity and am just finishing my make up when the door swings open and Brooklyn comes flying inside, “happy birthday sissy,” she screams as she looks at the empty bed.  Momma chuckles at her as she turns her to face me on the other side of the room and I smile at her as she runs towards me with her arms stretched out. 

I hug her to me as I kiss her cheek, “thank you sunshine.”

Momma comes over to me with a puzzled look, “happy birthday princess,” and kisses my forehead, “you’re up early, the surprise is on us,” she looks at Brooklyn as she takes my lip gloss and applies it to her pouty pink lips.

I shrug, “I guess I’m excited Momma,” I wiggle my brows, “I might find my mate tonight,” I smile.

Dad’s voice echo’s in my room, “not again my heart won’t take another of my daughters leaving me,” he smiles, “happy birthday princess.”  I watch the look he gives to Momma, and I can’t figure out why it makes me uneasy.

Momma looks at me and smiles, “today no school for you, I have a day planned for just the two of us and then a well-deserved nap for you so your well rested for your party.”

I blink at her, “really Momma, just the two of us, no Abi, no Auntie’s or Nonna’s just you and me,” I can’t help the overwhelming feeling of joy within me as she just wants me alone with her today.

She cups my face with her hands, “you are my princess, and I love you so much Teresa and yes, I want to be selfish today and have you all to myself,” she kisses my forehead.

I blink fast so no tears fall as they fill my eyes when Dad’s speaks, “except for lunch, I am allowed to crash your lunch,” he looks at me with so much love, “you’re my princess too you know, I had something to do with it,” he extends his hand to me and I take it quickly as he pulls me into his chest and hugs me tightly and I feel his lips kiss the top of my head.

I want to stay right here in this moment forever, when I hear footsteps coming into my room and I know this is all coming to an abrupt end when I hear Tyler and Lynx clearing their throats and that’s when they all start singing, “Happy Birthday.”

We all head for the kitchen and Dad gets the door for me to enter and to my surprise, Abigail is standing their holding my nephew Alexander, with Christov standing behind her and my brother’s Jackson and Richard sit at the island and I squeal in excitement and head for my nephew first, he’s is the most adorable baby I’ve ever seen and again I am sang to so off key that I can’t help but cover his little ears.  We all eat breakfast, and I listen to Jackson and Richard as they talk about how going to the university is an entirely different world.  Jackson seems more excited about it than Richard and Dad scoff at Jackson when he starts talking about the thousands of girls he had dated in the last year.

The sun is just rising when Abi and Christov leave and head to the main pack house of our pack and I help Momma get the others off to school.  We spend the day at the Spa and a quick shopping trip, well quick for me anyway and I’m surprised at what my own Momma has purchased for me as far as undergarments, well I am 18 now.

I wake from my nap and it’s already late and I know I need to be at the party before the guests, but for some reason Momma isn’t rushing me.  I look at my green satin dress, that she bought me 2 weeks ago and put on the sexy undergarments she bought me today,  to say I feel like a goddess is an understatement as I put on the dress.  I get my heels on and walk downstairs, Daddy and Momma are waiting there with smiles on their faces, Momma’s beams at me but Daddy’s doesn’t reach his eyes, but his sparkle at me as he takes me in, “princess you look beautiful.”

We enter the back entrance of the community building, I smile as Daddy opens the door and I step inside, and the room is filled with my guests.  I walk out and before I can see everyone that is in attendance a loud growl is heard and the word “MINE,” echo’s off the walls and my body stiffens in its spot.
