Chapter 8: Rise of Night Walkers II

Percy

"Black silky hair placed in a high ponytail, red lipstick, black leather pencil dress, Lady Kay's black gloss pumps rung through the corridors as a signal to the gates of our hell opening. She was a gorgeous woman in her early thirties who doted on Blake and me."

"Before she took over, the orphanage was once a loving home by the original House Mother, Lady Blossom. But soon after, turned into our living hell. We were Lady Kay's most prized assets."

"According to her, Blake was very cunning and luring, which made him very appealing. In addition, I had a playful innocence that made me desirable to be a teenager."

"She was a true devil that wore Prada. We were there when the devil walked into our lives with fiery greetings. We witness that same fire smother innocent children, our friends. House Mother was no mother but a monster." Blake's face was contemned. "Lady Kay resented her mother for paying more attention to the orphanage children than her. That neglect turned Lady Kay vile. She despised orphans and preyed on young boys. Percy and I were her favorites. She groomed us for her own personal desires. The things she did to us no child should ever have to face. From when we were thirteen until we were saved, she tainted our young bodies and burned our innocence."

"Percy, be good to mother and please me."

"Mmm, Blake, just like that."

"You two are going to be mothers' perfect little playthings."

"She always kept us close by like her most prized possession. She treated us better than the others. Unlike the others, we were never exploited for money until..."

"What can I do for you, sir?" Mother asked, greeting the man.

The man threw a bag at her feet. "I hope this is enough for two of your finest."

She opened the bag and gasped at the amount of money in it. "Any preference." She smirked.

He smirked back. "Surprise me." He looked around until his eyes landed on me. "Actually, hold that thought. I think I found the one."

Mother smiled. "Who?"

"Him," he said, pointing at me. Blake stood in front of me protectively, which amused the man. "I would like him also. He seems antagonistic."

Mother cleared her throat. "Actually, these two are off-limits. Perhaps I could find some other-"

The man cut her off. "It's either those two or no deal."

She looked at us sadly. This was the first time she seemed so vulnerable in front of us. Perhaps she loved us in her own sick way, but her love for money was more significant.

"Okay, I will prepare them and deliver them to you personally." She said reluctantly.

He grimly smiled. "Good, I plan to be thoroughly entertained."

Mother couldn't even make eye contact with us. "Are you really going to do this to us?" Blake questioned; he was always the forward one of us two.

She ignored his question, still not making eye contact. "Whatever he asks you to do, do it, understand?"

"Look at me!" he yelled.

She paused her movements, slowly looking into our eyes. "It was bound to happen someday."

I wrapped my arms around her waist, burying my face in the crevice of her neck. "Mommy, are you really going to sell us off? Will you let that man touch what is yours?"

"I-"

Blake kissed her from the neck up to her lips. "Is money more important than your most prized possessions?"

"No, of course not. Maybe I can convince him to change his mind." She made hastened steps out the door.

"Hurry back. I'm aching for your touch." Blake cooed.

When the door was shut, I looked over to Blake and smirked, "We have finally reached a dead end. Now it's time for us to build a new road."

He chuckled menacingly. "Indeed, Percy, indeed."

Percy put his arm around Malakai's shoulders. "Lucky for us, we didn't need to build a new road. Instead, one was presented to us. Before we knew it, the building was up in chaos."

The door suddenly slammed open, revealing some guys' with their faces covered, dressed in all black.

One of them removed their mask. "Don't be afraid. We are here to help."

"Who are you?" Blake backed himself and me away from the unknown people.

"Me? I'm just a guy, and these are my people."

"What are you doing here?" Blake asked again.

"Doing what the authorities fell to do, Blake, protect its youth. My people and I are part of a mighty organization, and when we caught a whiff of what was happening here, we couldn't sit idle. Now here we are. Impressed?"

Impressed was an understatement. "Significantly. What's your name?"

"Malakai. Yours?"

"Malakai was only a year older than us but already had great power. So it was an easy decision for us to choose to follow him."

"By the time the police and news reporters arrived at the scene, all that was left were those criminals, including Lady Kay, lying unconscious in front of the orphanage."

Heath extended his hand to Livia. "Just like what the Originals did for us, we offered a better life to all those who wanted it. We gave them a family and a home where they could feel safe. Now we want to do the same for you, Livia."

After hearing their story, Livia couldn't help but feel her soul erupt with life again. But the moment was interrupted by Asa's phone ringing.

"Hello," he answered.

"Bring her to us." and then the call ended.

Confused by the sudden request, Asa glanced at his phone in bewilderment.

"Who was that?" Malakai asked.

Still perplexed, "Master J. He wants to meet Livia."

"So soon," Malakai said, astounded, before eyeing Livia.

She looked back and forth between the eight of them. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?"

Malakai fondly eyed Livia. "You are quite the oddity, huh? You managed to catch the attention of the Originals on your first day as a citizen."
