By the time my team arrived, it was already late. I was in the Alpha's room throughout the day and I lost track of time. Lia had doused off after the hearty breakfast she had and she never left me alone.

There was a massive improvement in the Alpha's movements by the time we left his room.

Frost was already outside his door waiting for us.

"I have something to show you." He said when he saw us outside the room.

He led us to the large dining hall that sat close to the kitchen.

I stopped and shot

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 276: The Weight of Silence

Frost's POVThere was a particular kind of quiet that Rya carried with her lately. It wasn't the good kind, or the kind that came with the stillness of mind at rest. It was the kind that pressed against the air around her, as though there was something she was tightly holding on to for long. I noticed it in the mornings. She was fond of sitting alone, reserved from the world, with her eyes gazing out the window as though she was lost in her thoughts, her fingers loosely wrapped around a tea cup that had long gone cold. I told myself it was exhaustion. The past few weeks hadn't been kind. Between the summit's aftermath, the shifting pack alliances, and other things that kept unraveling itself, it would have been stranger if she weren't reserved. And so I gave her the time she deserved. I gave her the space, the silence, and the time she needed. But the mate bond spoke different. It was... faint between us, like a lit candle that struggled in the winds. There wasn't even a spark b

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 275: The Last Shard

Rya's POVA lot had changed since after the summit. And of all the things which were significantly different, that which stood out most was Sera. At first, I had wondered if my words must have pushed her so hard to make such a difficult choice. And when the deed was done, and her father had rejected her, I was struck with this... sense of guilt. I blamed myself. Perhaps I shouldn't have compelled her to go so far in challenging her father. But along the line, she was... brighter than usual. She was happy, and free. She willingly followed behind me, and was more than eager to learn from me. And I was more than glad to see that she found a sense of purpose once again. And this had gone on for days.*It was another random morning. The air was clean, the sky was bright, the weather was fair, and hopefully, the day was going to be better. I had finished up with the little lingering tasks left for me, and so I had the rest of the day to myself, to rest and if there be a reason, merry with

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 274: The Princess Without A Kingdom

Frost's POV"I hear my father wants me back," Sera spoke out in a sober tone. Rya and I had searched for her throughout the pack house, and found her standing at the balcony, staring into the sky like one who contemplated life. Certainly she had heard of the Lycan's visit, and she was drowning in the thoughts of it. She spoke those words immediately she heard our footsteps. "It's true that he came. But we're not going to let him take you like that. Not that easily," Rya answered softly."Then you don't know my father," she retorted, heaving a heavy sigh as she turned to where we stood. "Well, knowing him so well, and with the way I heard you sent his men away, you just gave him a valid reason for war, something to prove the supremacy he always preaches.""Then we'll be ready for him," I cut in sharply. I had the same thoughts as well. But why continue to let the stories of his past victories threaten other standing packs? Wasn't anyone curious enough to put his brutality to the tes

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 273: The Sacred Groove Standoff

Frost's POVThe day of the summit had finally arrived. I was... in all of my feelings, nervous yet highly optimistic. I had put in my all into this convergence, my mind, my body, and every ounce of my passion. Gathering this much personalities, both the great and small was no small feat. I felt... proud of myself. The future was bright, dependent on this very day. It was set to be determined by the people who needed their voices to be heard. The disparities and rough edges between the clans would be ironed out. And we would return to the times when each person was the other's keeper, willing to take up arms in unity over a general threat. The summit was meant to hold in the Scared Grove. It was a scared ground, as old as our history. It was a neutral ground where violence had been forbidden, and had stuck that way for years. I was still standing in the Sacred Groove when I looked to the side and sighted my mother. Rya had found a way to bring her here, to the summit, just as she assu

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 272: Enemies Of Unity

Frost's POV"Why don't you come with us?" I asked my mother as I threw my little bag over my shoulders. "You know it would be good for you to actually return home, and be in a place where you don't have to feel lonely... or secluded from the world"I halted in my steps when the thought had suddenly crossed my mind. But she stood still, with her countenance that already spoke all the answers I needed to hear."Three decades here, and this..." she heaved as she looked around, feeling somewhat impressed in herself, "this has suddenly become my home. Have I ever felt lonely? Yes. But that was a long time ago."I didn't need to press further to know that she wasn't willing to come along with me. I had spent the last few days with her, bonding, learning about my powers, trying to relive the times and moments I had lost with her. It was golden, each moment was remarkable. As much as I wished it were forever, responsibility still lingered and beckoned even louder. "But before you go," her

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 271: Born Of Wolf And Witch

Frost's POVI was seated in the living room with my mother. We sat across the room, just in the awe of each other. Neither one of us could take our eyes off the other. But my mother, her tears had streamed down her cheeks like a waterfall, soaking her dress. And she still had more tears to cry. "Frost..." she whispered my name, still in disbelief. She stretched her hands out, and without hesitation I reached for her. I dropped on my knees as I peered into her eyes. She caressed my cheeks, with a faint smile that radiated so beautifully on her face. "I have prayed for decades to see you again... to feel you, my son," she said. There was a crack to her voice, but it didn't matter so much at that moment. "Why..." I stuttered, hesitating in my words for a brief moment before I continued, "Why did you leave? All these years..."I squeezed her hands in mine as I asked her. She looked away. She was... broken. I saw the pain she must have buried for years glinting in her eyes. She sniff

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 157: At The Alpha's Command

Rya's POVI led the troops from the front. I was fully clad in a dark armour—interlocking steel plates which had been molded perfectly to my form. On the breastplate of the armour guarding my chest was a little opening for the Moonstone. It glowed brightly as I drew out my sword from the scabbard.

Lily's POVIt happened that fate decided to smile at me that stormy evening. I was still behind bars, locked up in the darkness and the faint smell of sweat and urine. Rya's POVI was alone in the throne room. The weather was fair, the skies were bright, the morning sun shone its beautiful rays on the landscape, and the winds blew against me softly. Frost's POV I couldn't sleep through the night. I laid there in the silence and darkness, peering at the ceiling, breathing shakily while my mind drifted into the thoughts of Rya. Nothing was hurting more than her absence. And it grew worse when there wasn't a word from her, and possibly not a wo
