Pay the Price.

The apprehension was growing as the trembling of the earth grew louder.

“W-what do we do now, Jace?” I whispered to him. Before he could say or react, we catch a glimpse of the giant.

It was....giant. He had two horns on each top side of his head. His eyes were big, his skin was dark brown, and his mouth was like a rogue wolf. I could see those big fangs coming out.

The fangs weren’t the big issue here. The giant was. Even the small finger of its foot can kill us. The giant still didn’t know that we were here, so it’s a good sign.

It turned around and walked right to us, taking the jar away, through which we were hiding. But it still didn’t see us.

“Jace?” I call him. “Look, it’s braids. See that one on the left side? There’s a cloth that’s covering something.” Jace stared at the giant’s braids and figured, that is what we are looking for.

“It’s the key! It’s tied to the giant’s braid!”

“We found it,” I smile as I glanced at Jace, who was already melting in mine. “Good work, Hailey,”
