“Hailey, NO!” I hear Jace screaming, and the Giant launching an attack, not showing any level of mercy. But I didn’t back up. I knew two things.

First, I can’t let my team lose, not because I chose to be weak. I had to fight this off. Because, second, I knew giants are slow.

Before the giant’s fists could reach me, something changed in me. My body temperature rose, my skin was burning like fire, my eyes went broad and my nails left my skin like bullets coming out of the tips of my fingers.

I howled as I shapeshifted into a wolf the second I jumped off the cabinet. I landed on all of my feet in a perfect manner and opened my eyes, staring at Victoria right in front of me.
