We walked in silence, taking the back way to her house. I knocked on her door, waiting patiently. Isaac still had a firm hold on my waist, and I had given up trying to struggle out of it.

Blair was the only one who could logic this for me. Isaac being my mate made the whole mood flip flopping make sense, but I couldn’t rid the feeling of being violated twenty-three years ago. I didn’t know much about bonds, as I had always been told I wouldn’t have a mate. Sure, I knew they kicked in as soon as you locked eyes with your mate - no matter the age - but I had never spent much time thinking about what would happen if you were a child when you found them. Blair had done extensive research on bonds in different species, so she would have an answer.
