Chapter Nine.
Anastasia's POV.
I helped him with his tie, and it was then our eyes met. We maintained eye contact for a little time. I'm awful when it comes to maintaining eye contact.
There is no way I would stop staring at him! I am not accepting defeat. His stares were beginning to get so intense. I just stood there and kept staring at him.
I am sure he could see how my eyes were filled with admiration. I wouldn't stop admiring his eyes, like I have always done for my daughter.
I blinked my eyes and looked down. He won, and I am going to challenge him another day. I don't know why I am terrible at maintaining eye contact.
Is it really that bad?
Is this some sort of staring competition? I can't believe he won instead. It wasn't my fault, though, his glare was so intense filled without any emotion.
"This looks good." I broke the silence, then we both walked out of the room, while I followed him like a bodyguard at his back.
He didn't even say, "Thank you."
"Why would he say thank you when he is paying you a huge sum of money for everything? That money alone is more than thank you." My brain reminded me.
I just rolled my eyes until we got to the dining room. As a personal assistant, I am not allowed to eat or sit with him. I was just supposed to stand there, and watch him eat, which I was currently doing.
"I saw the schedule you did yesterday." He couldn't complete his statement before I interrupted him.
"It's not appropriate for you to talk while eating." I said to him, wanting to avoid any sort of discussion now.
He then looked up at him.
"Does correcting me give you enough reason to interrupt me while I am talking?" He questioned me.
"No, sir, I don't just want you to have any problems while you are eating." I told him.
He heaved a deep sigh of relief, then stood up after a few bites. He didn't say anything afterward. I'm sure I must have hurt his pride. I didn't mean to, it is not my fault.
I drove him to his office, and we got there around 7:10. This man doesn't look like the CEO. Workers are supposed to be resuming by 7:30, but here he is coming more early than the workers. That is something I will never do.
If I were the CEO, I would make sure I came one hour after the workers' resumption time. That is what makes me unique and different from other workers.
This personal assistant Job could be so tiring. We got to his office, and I helped him with a lot of things. Another pile of documents was handed to me by Cassie to take care of.
I got a call from Susan, and I was still wondering if I should pick the call at his office.
"You can take the call." Tristan interrupted my thoughts about picking up the call or not.
I looked at him, squinting my face. I couldn't believe he was the one telling me to pick the call now. I looked at him one more time before picking up the call.
"Hello!" I said immediately, and Susan picked.
"Your daughter would like to speak with you." She said to me.
"Okay, give it to her." I told Susan.
"She is downstairs, I came to get my car. Since you didn't bring it home last night, and I don't think you were going to bring it home today again, I had to take a cab here to take it myself." Susan said to me
I stood up from my seat. As the chair dragged on the floor.
"Where are you going ?" Tristan queried.
"I am going to get you your coffee, and my daughter is waiting for me downstairs," I answered, and then he didn't say anything. I walked out of the room, then hurriedly went downstairs.
"Mommy, I waited for you last night for your arrival. You didn't come home. I woke up this morning, and you were not by my side. I really miss you." She said this to me, almost crying, immediately after I got downstairs.
"Oh my! Mommy is so sorry. I am so sorry, dear. I really apologize, it is the work I am doing. I have no choice, but to do it. We are going to spend more time during the weekend together." I promised her, then hugged her deeply.
I brought out my finger like a sign of a pinky promise.
"For real?" She asked in excitement, then brought out her pinky finger for a promise as well.
"Yes!" I assured her. I am not even sure if I am going to be less busy during the weekends. I just need to stop her from crying right now.
"Please take care of her for me. Thank you very much." I appreciated my friend's kind acts. I'm sure it must have been so stressful for Susan.
"Okay! That isn't a big deal." She assured me, and then I gave her car keys back to her.
I went to the kitchen where the coffee was being made, so I could ask what he was going to drink. The lady who was there yesterday, was the same lady I am currently staring at.
"I hope you aren't going to kill him like the way you almost did yesterday." The lady who was making the coffee said to me.
Wait, how did the information reach here? Who must have spread the news? I bet they all have ears and eyes all over this company. I wondered how many of them must have gossiped about me.
She should just make the coffee and then hand it over to me. I am not in for her shadings and discussion.
Then met Cassie at the entrance of the hallway. I didn't even notice her when I was going outside.
"Good morning!" I greeted her.
"Hey, how's your job so far? Tiring? Stressful? Good?" It's so obvious," she asked with a mocking voice. To be very honest, it has been tiring.
"Would you want a taste of it? You can come and stay in my position for the next 3 days, then you will tell me how it feels." I answered her.
"Good luck with your job." She replied me.
I called Susan, and I think I've already made up my mind. I think I've made my decision already.
"You can bring her to the work after you are done." I told Susan, then ended the call.
"Who is she?" Cassie asked.
"None of yours; I have to go now." I entered the office.
"I thought you said you weren't going to tell her to bring your child here, I am wondering what made you change your mind." He said this to me immediately I entered his office, and dropped the coffee on his table.
I have forgotten that his hearing ability is top-notch.
"You were eavesdropping on my conversation?" I queried him.
"Yes, I guess I don't have any choice." He answered.
"You do have a choice, you decided to just do it intentionally." I almost fired back, but I spoke with the coolest voice ever.
"Yes, you can put it that way. I eavesdropped because I wanted to." He answered me, while I just rolled my eyes.
"Miss SIA, I bet you know who you are talking to. I just want to remind you who is the boss here, because it seems like you are the boss here." Tristan complained.
"I'm sorry, I just can't control my anger issues." I apologized.
"You will have to learn how to do that, now that you are with me." He corrected.
I went back to my seat, then focused on my work for the day.
****
Later In The Day.
I heard a knock on the door. It should be Cassie knocking.
"Come in." Tristan gave her permission, and then she entered.
"Sir, some kids are outside with a lady claiming she wants to see Miss Anastasia." Cassie announced.
I bet that must have been my daughter.
"Uhm, I will go and attend to it." I stated.
"The report was made to me, so why would you want to go? I will go and attend to it myself." Tristan commanded her, then walked out.
He knew the child was my daughter, why does he want to go and see her first?

Chapter 10. Anastasia's POV. I waited in the office as Tristan commanded me to. He told me not to leave my office. "Why would you want to bring a child into the office? Do you know what the world might say?" I heard Penelope's voice as she followed Tristan into the office after a few minutes. I saw Tristan holding my kid's wrist. "Mummy!" Ashley removed her hands from his grasp, and she ran towards where I was giving a very huge hug. "I really miss you, momma." Ashley gave me a huge hug while I was sitting. I noticed the two friends had stopped arguing. It turned out they were staring at me. "You see? Why do you always like this whenever you are around her? I have always been the one protecting your reputation ! This is how you repay me?" Penelope shouted at Tristan. How is he whenever he's with me? Does she even know what she is saying at all? "This is not about repaying, and who told you she was staying in my office?" "This is my business, not yours. I also hate it whenev
Chapter 11. Tristan's POV. "What the hell is going on?" I shouted. "Can all of you excuse me for a moment?" I told them, calming my nerves down, then slowly sitting back on my seat. "Tristan! This is an important matter!" Penelope told me. I know how important that can be. Killing rampage? "I need all of you to get out, including the police." I instructed them. "Sir, we need to speak with the person we are here for assaulting one of the workers in this place. " The police stated. "Except from you, Anastasia." I stated before she could walk out. Why is Penelope looking at me that way? If there are several problems, it will be right to take one and attend to it first. Anastasia looked so scared, does she think I'm going to bite her? I don't understand this reaction of hers. Where did her confidence run to? "What's with the Police case?" I looked at her disgustingly, asking her the question. "If you know you want to start asking me questions, I would rather follow the Policeme
Chapter 12. Anastasia's POV. "You have been released from here. Thanks to the accuser who changed her mind." The policeman informed me after I spent a few hours in jail. "Thank you very much." I told him, then walked out of the Station. My mind went to my daughter immediately. My phone isn't with me, and I wondered what made me forget the phone in Ashley's hand. "I was waiting for them to release you, they did already." The lady whom I stabbed with a knife walked up to me, jolting me from my thoughts. "Seems like you really want another stab!" I threatened her. "Then no one would be able to save you this time around, no amount of money will make me change my mind." She stated. What does she mean by that? I looked at her in a confused way. "Someone paid me a very huge amount of money, so I will take back my statement. For me to accept that offer, you should know the money should really be a big one." She explained further. I guess she must have noticed how confused I was. "Do
Chapter Thirteen Anastasia's Point Of View. "Thank you very much for yesterday." I brought down my pride, and then I needed to thank him for watching over my daughter. "Stabbing someone with a fork? What are you really?" He chuckled. That will be the first time I have seen him almost laugh, ever since I have been working with him. It just turned out that he was laughing at me. Foolish me! I made up my mind to respect him as my boss already, and I hope I don't break up what I have promised myself. I didn't reply to him, then helped him with his suit. "Why are you not answering me? Is your mouth too heavy?" He asked furiously. Why is he getting pissed off again? I thought he said I should respect him? "I'm sorry if I didn't reply you. I felt that doesn't need a response, I'm trying my very best to be very respectful towards you." I answered him, and he faked a smile. "How did you get off the prison last night? I thought you were going to spend a year there. Or probably six mont
Chapter Fourteen. Anastasia's POV. Tristan looked at me and then at my father, and immediately my father said it. "Uhm, it's nothing much. We are kind of related, so I just want to see her for a few minutes." My father told him. I was already expecting him to deny me, especially in front of Tristan. He wouldn't want to spoil his reputation in front of the person he adores so much, he must've seen me as a daughter to run away after getting pregnant. More like a slut. "You can go listen to whatever he wants to tell you. I don't care about the type of relationship you two have." Tristan said this to me, then walked away, leaving me at the door entrance. He entered the lift right in front of me. I walked back to the office and closed the door, leaving my father and me in the room. I crossed my hands, waiting for him to start talking bullshit. "Woah! I thought I warned you that I didn't want to see you around this place anymore. What are you still doing here?" My father queried me, w
Chapter 15. Anastasia's POV. I waited patiently for him to answer my question. "Why would I want to stop you from communicating with your father? Should I even call him your father?" He asked me while he focused back with whatever he was doing on the computer that was in his front. I couldn't figure out why I was finding it so hard for me to believe him. "What else were you expecting him to say?" I asked myself while I focused on whatever I was doing. "Don't call him my father, he isn't worth that title." I answered his question after a few minutes, then continued what I was doing. "Seems you two had a fight, that's good." He said scoffing. Good? "What's good exactly?" I asked him "The fact that you showed him you are not weak, you poured a glass of water on him. I feel like you should have done something worse." He said with an evil smirk. I don't have anything to say anything, to be honest. I just don't know what to say. Tomorrow is Saturday, I will have little time to
Chapter 16. Anastasia's POV. She looked around with her hands on her chin, trying to give me an answer to my question. "The least thing he could do is to fire you. Then, before he figures out, you can have the opportunity to start working at Ezra's company." She answered me. Yeah, I understood what she was trying to say. I don't know why I am scared at the same time, even after knowing the least thing he could do was to fire me. Why do I have this feeling that he could something more than that? Oh, no! I should stop being delusional. "How has been your boss?" She asked.me. "He is cool, very cold-hearted, and sometimes he might get to show how much he pitied me, which I really hated." I explained to her while she just chuckled. "Mummy! Please, can you buy this for me? I really love it." She pointed at a gown. "Sure, anything for my baby." I told her with a wide smile on my face. I made sure the cloth fitted her perfectly, and it did. "Is there any other thing you want? I would
