My daughter.

Chapter Nine.

Anastasia's POV.

I helped him with his tie, and it was then our eyes met. We maintained eye contact for a little time. I'm awful when it comes to maintaining eye contact.

There is no way I would stop staring at him! I am not accepting defeat. His stares were beginning to get so intense. I just stood there and kept staring at him.

I am sure he could see how my eyes were filled with admiration. I wouldn't stop admiring his eyes, like I have always done for my daughter.

I blinked my eyes and looked down. He won, and I am going to challenge him another day. I don't know why I am terrible at maintaining eye contact.

Is it really that bad?

Is this some sort of staring competition? I can't believe he won instead. It wasn't my fault, though, his glare was so intense filled without any emotion.

"This looks good." I broke the silence, then we both walked out of the room, while I followed him like a bodyguard at his back.

He didn't even say, "Thank you."

"Why would he say thank you when he is paying you a huge sum of money for everything? That money alone is more than thank you." My brain reminded me.

I just rolled my eyes until we got to the dining room. As a personal assistant, I am not allowed to eat or sit with him. I was just supposed to stand there, and watch him eat, which I was currently doing.

"I saw the schedule you did yesterday." He couldn't complete his statement before I interrupted him.

"It's not appropriate for you to talk while eating." I said to him, wanting to avoid any sort of discussion now.

He then looked up at him.

"Does correcting me give you enough reason to interrupt me while I am talking?" He questioned me.

"No, sir, I don't just want you to have any problems while you are eating." I told him.

He heaved a deep sigh of relief, then stood up after a few bites. He didn't say anything afterward. I'm sure I must have hurt his pride. I didn't mean to, it is not my fault.

I drove him to his office, and we got there around 7:10. This man doesn't look like the CEO. Workers are supposed to be resuming by 7:30, but here he is coming more early than the workers. That is something I will never do.

If I were the CEO, I would make sure I came one hour after the workers' resumption time. That is what makes me unique and different from other workers.

This personal assistant Job could be so tiring. We got to his office, and I helped him with a lot of things. Another pile of documents was handed to me by Cassie to take care of.

I got a call from Susan, and I was still wondering if I should pick the call at his office.

"You can take the call." Tristan interrupted my thoughts about picking up the call or not.

I looked at him, squinting my face. I couldn't believe he was the one telling me to pick the call now. I looked at him one more time before picking up the call.

"Hello!" I said immediately, and Susan picked.

"Your daughter would like to speak with you." She said to me.

"Okay, give it to her." I told Susan.

"She is downstairs, I came to get my car. Since you didn't bring it home last night, and I don't think you were going to bring it home today again, I had to take a cab here to take it myself." Susan said to me

I stood up from my seat. As the chair dragged on the floor.

"Where are you going ?" Tristan queried.

"I am going to get you your coffee, and my daughter is waiting for me downstairs," I answered, and then he didn't say anything. I walked out of the room, then hurriedly went downstairs.

"Mommy, I waited for you last night for your arrival. You didn't come home. I woke up this morning, and you were not by my side. I really miss you." She said this to me, almost crying, immediately after I got downstairs.

"Oh my! Mommy is so sorry. I am so sorry, dear. I really apologize, it is the work I am doing. I have no choice, but to do it. We are going to spend more time during the weekend together." I promised her, then hugged her deeply.

I brought out my finger like a sign of a pinky promise.

"For real?" She asked in excitement, then brought out her pinky finger for a promise as well.

"Yes!" I assured her. I am not even sure if I am going to be less busy during the weekends. I just need to stop her from crying right now.

"Please take care of her for me. Thank you very much." I appreciated my friend's kind acts. I'm sure it must have been so stressful for Susan.

"Okay! That isn't a big deal." She assured me, and then I gave her car keys back to her.

I went to the kitchen where the coffee was being made, so I could ask what he was going to drink. The lady who was there yesterday, was the same lady I am currently staring at.

"I hope you aren't going to kill him like the way you almost did yesterday." The lady who was making the coffee said to me.

Wait, how did the information reach here? Who must have spread the news? I bet they all have ears and eyes all over this company. I wondered how many of them must have gossiped about me.

She should just make the coffee and then hand it over to me. I am not in for her shadings and discussion.

Then met Cassie at the entrance of the hallway. I didn't even notice her when I was going outside.

"Good morning!" I greeted her.

"Hey, how's your job so far? Tiring? Stressful? Good?" It's so obvious," she asked with a mocking voice. To be very honest, it has been tiring.

"Would you want a taste of it? You can come and stay in my position for the next 3 days, then you will tell me how it feels." I answered her.

"Good luck with your job." She replied me.

I called Susan, and I think I've already made up my mind. I think I've made my decision already.

"You can bring her to the work after you are done." I told Susan, then ended the call.

"Who is she?" Cassie asked.

"None of yours; I have to go now." I entered the office.

"I thought you said you weren't going to tell her to bring your child here, I am wondering what made you change your mind." He said this to me immediately I entered his office, and dropped the coffee on his table.

I have forgotten that his hearing ability is top-notch.

"You were eavesdropping on my conversation?" I queried him.

"Yes, I guess I don't have any choice." He answered.

"You do have a choice, you decided to just do it intentionally." I almost fired back, but I spoke with the coolest voice ever.

"Yes, you can put it that way. I eavesdropped because I wanted to." He answered me, while I just rolled my eyes.

"Miss SIA, I bet you know who you are talking to. I just want to remind you who is the boss here, because it seems like you are the boss here." Tristan complained.

"I'm sorry, I just can't control my anger issues." I apologized.

"You will have to learn how to do that, now that you are with me." He corrected.

I went back to my seat, then focused on my work for the day.

Later In The Day.

I heard a knock on the door. It should be Cassie knocking.

"Come in." Tristan gave her permission, and then she entered.

"Sir, some kids are outside with a lady claiming she wants to see Miss Anastasia." Cassie announced.

I bet that must have been my daughter.

"Uhm, I will go and attend to it." I stated.

"The report was made to me, so why would you want to go? I will go and attend to it myself." Tristan commanded her, then walked out.

He knew the child was my daughter, why does he want to go and see her first?
