The child born of the forbidden affair between a Superior werewolf and a diva dominants the other creatures and restores harmony and coexistence.
View MoreFuming in rage at losing my cub I had just given birth after a fierce fight with traitor omegas. With mixed emotions I seeked a diva to analiate, it was a full moon in the woods with bristle leaves of spring all scattered on the ground.
I gripped a diva in sight with my claws against its neck. I pressed on tightly, losing all my humanity from the pain. Ruthlessly, I plunged the claws of both hands and tore the creature apart.
I could see life exist in its body as I drew the head of its body.
I am Hernia, an alpha female werewolf born with the temper of a bull lock. Fine and graced with emotional tentacles, it's not visible but I was born with a high sense to dictate emotional signals, that was how I hunted.
Other wolves hunt with a sense of smell and tensed hearing ability.
This trait has always been in the family, a rare breed with superior instincts than other wolves.
Some call us superior alphas but this gift sure had a weakness, as much as we sensed emotions at high frequency we didn't have the ability to control those emotions, sometimes emotions overwhelmed us and we became vulnerable.
We were quite few lest as our species was haunted by a group of omegas, we called them old werewolves. Their species existed way before we began to evolve.
They were discovered to be haunted after half of our population was discovered to be going missing.
In fear some scattered and went into hiding.
But as they say together we stand strong and divided we fall. Those who scattered fell to their deaths.
My family formed a clan with the few wolves we had left of our species.
We stayed together traveling for greener pastures from places to places as we tried to survive.
Soon times evolved, that was when we discovered that other creatures existed like humans.
Humans had a surge of complex emotions, we settled in by blending in and soon began to study the humans.
Soon after we discovered that among the humans there were creatures that had no emotions, the humans would call them psychopaths.
To the humans they felt no emotions but to us they had the ability to help us control being overwhelmed by emotions.
We called them Divas.
We began to study Divas, we created a ritual called ‘Amend’ where each cub before being born was assigned a diva.
The mother wolf consumes the placenta of the diva when it is being born and the diva automatically becomes subject to her cub.
The diva gets drawn to the cub after it has been born.
Older divas of the parent werewolves groom the younger diva.
We found survival by coexisting in the same vein blending in with the humans.
There was just one rule, never fall in love with your diva or bear offspring for it.
We considered them vile ruthless creatures and together with our ability one doesn't know what will become of an offspring from both species.
In no time, we soon dominated the population as we were no longer endangered species.
My father Edwin Amber made sure to keep our people together. He was seen as the chief of the clan making our family royalty.
One fine afternoon, I walked out of my room caught by the noise of the commotion outside.
An argument had broken out between my father and his diva.
“ This is good news, we need to venture into the distant land and find them, this is the only chance we could have, any delay could cost us loss" my father said to his diva looking desperate and convinced.
“It is rash, we could be ambushed.
I can't let you be bait" he replied.
I leaned in further from where I stood hoping to know the root to the bone of contention.
“I have made up my mind Paul" that was his diva’s name.
My father entered his chambers after the argument and shut the door.
I wasn't the only one in confusion, people around noticed the flare between the two and I noticed the uneasy atmosphere.
I could feel the surge of complex emotions, my father was filled with hope, fear, anxiety, determination and some other emotions I couldn't dictate yet. But the strong sense of love engulfed all these emotions.
Paul gave signatures of fear and urge to protect.
The two had always been a pair since their awakening, so I heard.
I rushed to Paul's side trying to find out what happened, “ what made two love birds create a scene?
Is this one of your couples squabbles?"
He seemed to have not known I was referring to him, “ big uncle" . I finally called his attention where he stood searching for scrolls.
“Sweet chilly, it is nothing to worry your little head about, shouldn't you be at practice at this time?
What a lazy chilly” he said jokingly with a smile on his face, calling me by a pet name.
His facial expression finally settled my worry and I dismissed all my thoughts.
I decided to trust his words rather than his emotions.
" You two should get a room” I said jokingly walking away towards the practice grounds to meet up with my diva.
Practice was about team work, my diva and I, unlike my father and his diva, were like two weathers under one cloud, nobody gave way for the other.
~two hours from incidence~
I strolled down to the grounds hoping to meet my diva but I found no one at the grounds.
I searched each camp but it looked deserted.
I found a note on the floor, it had probably been swept there by the breeze.
I wasn't so good with letters so it took me a while to pick up the message. It said to go home and return when instruction is passed.
Feeling disappointed I groaned and shuffled my body to head back home.
On my way home I shuffled my legs on the ground and soon the thought of the argument resurfaced in my mind.
“ What could have brought the argument?
Did they discover something I didn't know about?" I snapped out of it while observing that the road was rather lonely. I should have met some students on my way.
I became uneasy but couldn't sense anything, not even a sound.
I decided to reroute taking a shortcut in the woods, getting closer I felt an emotion as that of a predator waiting for its prey.
I watched. Having no diva, I was at a vulnerable spot..I rushed back to the camp to grab a weapon, A sword was laying in our master’s chambers.
The danger seemed to have followed me to the camp, soon everywhere grew unusually foggy
I stood alert, having no sight I could only sense. So I felt an emotion of fear overwhelmed me…I was being projected with fear.
Whomever was my opponent knew I had no diva and so used the weakest of the emotions to ambush me
I struggled to avoid being overwhelmed but soon I lost control and began trembling.
A force came from behind but my sense of motion switched in…before the hit could close in I grabbed the opponent by the wrist with my
little claws and subdued him to the ground using my weight as leverage. I pinned him on the ground despite his struggles.
The sun had already gone down on us, clouds formed slowly in the sky looking like it would rain." My baby, Hernia Amber” she called out to me by my name. Watching her cry caused my heart to ache. The way her lips trembled when she spoke my name and the gut-punch of familiarity I felt, sent a jolt of electricity through me.I turned to my dad, he stood with his eyes widened and shivering like he had seen a ghost. His face that was once filled with fire of fury was now gray like a stone carving.“My child, it's me. It's your mother" she sobbed uncontrollably while trying to speak.I signaled the guard to stand down.I was only a few meters away, her lovely cedar scent filled the air. Her shadow followed behind her. She looked different, she didn't have the white garment on. She was draped in expensive high official heavy slick. Her hair was packed in a bun with a jewel piece. Her face bore the elegant tragic lines of someone who survived a lifetime of noble intrigue.I looked in her e
Every instinct in my body screamed at me to confront him.I met him standing arms crossed, facing the low fence.“Why do you enjoy keeping things away from me dad?" I angrily questioned my father as he stood outside staring into thin air,my voice hard as ice.“Hernia! I will not tolerate that tone" he revolted like a wave, his eyes shot at my friend who stood behind in awe of the clash out.“Then talk to me, talk to us dad. I'm your daughter yet I don't even know you dad" I began crashing out not minding my tone.He stood by the fence, his eyes scanning four of us as if scanning casualties on a battlefield. His sharp gaze bore into me with evident contempt“Two months," he whispered, the quietness of his voice more terrifying than a shout.“Two months of silence and searching for you and your friends. While you chased a ghost that didn't want to be found" I blinked occasionally scanning through my conscience. I watched my dad and couldn't recognize the man who I had forced into an ou
“Sir Crisent Herpens!" the king yelled angrily with every vein in his body standing out from increased blood circulation. That unholy name quickly rings a bell, king of the old werewolves, divider of our clan we finally meet eye to eye. I settled into the chair more reserved than ever without fear. For a long time I have heard tales about Lord Crisent. A man greatly feared that commanded all the old werewolves packs. Oppressors of humans and wolves. I turned to the king, he restrained himself greatly suppressing his anger and humiliation. His hands were clenched into his fist, a clear sign of fuming rage. The king was only a puppet, a veneer of authority he wielded as he please.I turned back to Lord Crisent as I read the room. The man’s gaze still mixed with cold rage and animal instinct. His werewolf eyes glowing with dangerous intensity “Careful what you wish for little girl" the masculine growl released from his voice.I remained poised, settled into the chair and let out a mocki
“Dad, I have to go. I will meet you all at Kael's place” I restrained him, pulling him away from the guard who was almost running out of breath.Dad's shoulders relaxed as he stepped away from the guard with eyes darting between me and the guard and his temper still sparring within.Dad grabbed my hand gently still with a flushed face “Don't delay to come to me, understood?" his tone filled with heartfelt concerns." Yes father” I replied with a heavy breath gently pulling away from his grip.…I walked into the king's personal study room. The room has a welcoming scent of old scrolls and heavily burned beeswax oil. The chaos of outside walls halted as the doors were shut by a servant that led me in.The floor was graced with an enormous furry carpet that spread across the room. My feet danced in the softness and relaxation the carpet had to offer.I looked at the wall and was astonished by the painting frames of war and nature. I was so distracted by the aesthetics that I didn't not
“We need to head to the ‘Monk tower’ for answers," the blind boy suggested with a lowered gaze.I could see the flames in his cloudy eyes and he wore an expression burning with terror. What have we done? I thought to myself as I stared into his eyes.“Where is this place you talk about and how does
“I don't know about you guys but I think he gave each of us a message" Constance gave her opinion.Monks came in, pointing us to our quarters.I pulled Sammy back as she was about to leave no, when others were no longer in the premises I inquired “What do you make of all these?" “Seven flames, you
I got to know the city we were in from the little information. It sure was a big city ruled by a king and his ministers handled different sectors and affairs of the state. It wasn't like back home, dad was the leader of our clan and nobody had to pay taxes or be oppressed. Everyone was treated equa
I quickly pulled the second pole and aimed for the guard whom was about attacking Philip but missed. The fire pole struck off the blade he wielded. It was long that Kelvin sat up and started mubblig loudly. This time his chants were working. Each guard fell to the ground and soon there was calm.I
