CHAPTER 18

Niel

"Father, Mother." I called out softly as I sighted my parents seated and devouring their dinner.

Their eyes flew towards my direction and though I've been getting weird looks and whispers ever since I opened my door this was weirder. I cleared my throat and walked over to them. I took my seat on the far edge of the table and the maid who served food was shaking. The guards were suddenly tensed up one almost attacked me.

Helene was at the table as well eating as if I was not there.

"Helene." I said lowly, acknowledging her presence.

"Relax, he's not going to bite your head off." Helene said to the maid, referring to me.

The maid bowed and managed to serve me food. I began to eat quietly while my parents tried to act like everything was normal.

"What made you join us for dinner today?" Helene suddenly asked.

"I was hungry." I replied shortly.

"You haven't been hungry for three months?" She asked sarcastically.

"I didn't have the courage to face anyone yet." I confessed.
