I watched as Nathan ordered his subjects to get me the finest game they have and entertain me. This would have been pleasant and I would've appreciated it if Ryan was still alive, I had only agreed to the pact because I had no choice but now that Ryan was dead, the pact is now annuled.

I ate to my satisfaction as I cared less while Kent; my beta also helped himself. Nathan tried to indulge me in a small talk and I obliged though my true intentions were still hidden.

"How long will it take Helene to get down here?" I asked impatiently. Ive been waiting for almost an hour now.

"She'll be here soon." Nathan said reassuringly, I looked at his face and he looked older than his age. That's exactly what grieve does to one.

"Where is your wife?" I asked, my eyes scanning the empty seat beside him.

Nathan chuckled softly.

"She's in her chambers." He said calmly, I raised an eyebrow and shifted uncomfortably on the chair I sat.
