Chapter 6

Niel

I paused abruptly, my entire body shook and I dreaded blinking. It were like my hands went number as I couldn't feel or sense any movements. The warm blood which stained my arms was suddenly replaced by a cold numb feeling, my throat became dry and parched almost immediately.

'No.' I muttered.

It couldn't be what I was thinking, I refused to look down at what I was carrying. My brother was in my arms and I'd save him but who was I fooling? The link was suddenly faint and before I could get a grasp of it, it suddenly cut off. My eyes widened in shock, and there it was; what I dreaded the most.

"Who's there?" I heard a guard yell.

I sniffed, it was the guard who was on patrol, my hands were shaking so I stood deeply rooted at a spot, the guard approached me and froze as he saw what had happened.

"The alpha!" He said, evidently horrified and then ran towards the pack.

I could hear his resounding voice.

"Tragedy has befallen us!" He announced.

Yet I didn't move an inch, I was scare
