Drasa’s POV

Now I have realized that being an elite doesn’t give you the basic intelligence you need to communicate with people.

A soft gasp fled my lips as I took a step backward. My eyes raked over his moneyed jacket and jeans that clearly symbolized his status.

“You in?” His voice echoed in my skull, and I laughed out, inducing him to scowl a little bit.

Yes, good - that’s what I want from him.

“No, I’m out,” was all I declared before veering around to walk away, but he was quick enough to double-cross me before I could step further.

“Did you just walk out on me?” He seemed surprised like this was the first time someone had walked out on him.

“Yes, I’m walking out because I’m not in for your game.”

I left without looking back, feeling his eyes follow me.

How can he think he could use me like that? Yeah, I might be frantic to find a way to slide off from the elite, but I won’t be irrational enough to fall into his trap.

I strode into the class where the first lecture would take place, and immediately as I strode in, hums flared. I tried my best to dismiss all the vicious tales from each student, but they followed me anyway.

“Hey, weirdo,” Elara waved her hand toward me.

I knew better than to reply. I turned in another direction, trying hard to ignore her bullying, because clearly, she’s a tyrant and I’m not in for her petty game.

I found a seat near the window. The row was bare, but no one wanted to sit close. Either they wiggled their heads and strolled past, or sneered at me before sliding off.

I tried to ignore them, bringing out my books. It’s better to pay them no attention than to satisfy their ego.

“A stripper, are you ignoring me now?” Elara’s voice shook across the room, and murmurs erupted. I shifted in my seat, my eyes darting to every corner but Elara.

“Are you—”

“Silence, please,” Mrs. Lyra stepped in and cut Elara’s voice off.

I raised my head to see Elara breathing unevenly, her gaze sharp on my body.

I paid attention to everything Mrs. Lyra had to discuss, even though my heart still raced from what Cassian had said.

How could he think so low of me?

“Drasa.” Mrs. Lyra’s voice cut through my fog of thought. I had thought I’d stay focused, but my thoughts were just messy. “You seem lost. Having difficulty?” she questioned, and I shook my head immediately.

“No, I’m fine,” I quickly replied, even though all the piercing eyes in the room were now on me.

“You’re—”

Her voice went mute when sudden footsteps echoed, and my head snapped in the direction of the door. My eyes nearly bulged when Cassian strode in with a boy by his side. I swallowed the emptiness in my throat when his eyes landed directly on me.

“You are late, Cassian,” Mrs. Lyra muttered, but he barely nodded before striding forward.

I had hoped for the best, but the hope crumbled when Cassian walked to sit beside me. His friend attempted to sit, but the glare he sent him moved him to the next row.

I shifted uncomfortably, my hands gripping my notebook tighter.

“Interesting, isn’t it? Same department.” Cassian released a half-smile before directing his attention to the front.

My eyes scanned the whole class, and I could feel their anger burning into my body. I swallowed hard.

“This looks a bit difficult,” Cassian muttered before slamming his hand on the table, snatching a sudden gasp from the students, including me. My hand flew to my chest. Mrs. Lyra didn’t look any different.

“I hate having too many eyes on me. Can you all focus?” His voice carried an air of authority, and the atmosphere in the room shifted.

The class went silent for a while before Mrs. Lyra cleared her throat. “Focus, class.”

The class began, and I could barely grasp what she was saying. All my attention was on Cassian, his quickened breath, the way he jotted something down on his paper, his brows… everything about him just seemed too perfect, and I wondered how one person could be this handsome.

“I just said I don’t like too much attention,” his voice was low. He raised his head with a simple smile on his lips, and I choked on nothing.

He straightened, his eyes piercing mine. “You won’t be my girlfriend, and yet you won’t stop staring.”

I felt a sudden lump tighten in my throat. My body slowly rests on the table, writing what I didn’t even know in the notebook.

“Ignoring me now?” His voice blurred past me, but I refused to raise my head.

I heard his retreating breath.

Soon the class was over. I wasted no time before grabbing my bag, knowing fully well he’d question me if I tried to make him stand.

I jumped through the next set of chairs. His gasp filled my ears, but I refused to look back.

I darted out of the class, my heart racing fast. His cologne still filled my nostrils.

I tried to calm my body, but it kept racing no matter how hard I tried.

I thought the storm was over until a sudden shove pushed me, and I fell right on my face. My bag went its separate way.

I was forced to curse under my breath, my hair covering my face, and I wondered who the heck had done this.

I raised my body, dusting the dirt off my clothes before turning back. I was shocked to see Elara standing a few feet away with her arms folded, a big bubble between her lips.

What have I done to deserve this act from her?

A frustrated breath escaped my lips. I tried ignoring her, leaning down to retrieve my bag, but a sudden kick sent it sliding away. I raised my head to see another girl standing nearby, probably one of Elara’s errand girls. I turned around to see there were four in total. They all looked familiar, and perhaps I had come across them at the party.

“Please, I’m not in for this,” I said, looking straight into Elara’s eyes. She seemed amused, and for a minute, I thought she’d let it go, until a loud laugh echoed from her throat. Her errand girls followed.

I stared at them all. Perhaps they’d gone mad before they were admitted into this school?

  • Cursed To Love You   Chapter 30

Cassian's POVI hadn't planned on coming to this party at all. When Kai first mentioned it, I'd given him some noncommittal response about maybe showing up later if I felt like it.But then my phone buzzed with a message from Kai, and everything changed. The photo he'd sent made me stop dead in my tracks. It was Drasa, but not the Drasa I was used to seeing around campus. This version of her was transformed, her silver hair was intricately braided in a style that looked almost ethereal, and she was wearing something that actually showed off her body. She looked absolutely stunning. More than stunning."Fuck," I muttered under my breath, staring at the photo for longer than I probably should have. Before I even realized what I was doing, I was grabbing my swim shorts and heading out the door.I didn't even remember the drive to the party. One minute I was looking at Kai's message, and the next I was walking into the pool area, scanning the crowd for silver hair and that face that had

  • Cursed To Love You   Chapter 29

Drasa's POVThe pool party was in full swing now, with music pumping and people laughing as they splashed around in the crystal-clear water. Maya had been persistent about getting me to actually swim instead of just sitting on the edge like a wallflower."Come on, Drasa!" she called out, already waist-deep in the water. "You can't come to a pool party and not get in the pool. That's like going to a restaurant and not eating!"I was still feeling self-conscious about everything, my hair, my outfit, the earlier confrontation with Elara but Maya's enthusiasm was infectious. Reluctantly, I slipped into the water, the cool temperature immediately making me feel more relaxed than I had all evening."See? Isn't this better?" Maya grinned, splashing me playfully. Before I could answer, one of the servers approached the edge of the pool with a tray of colorful drinks. The glasses were tall and decorated with little umbrellas and fruit garnishes, clearly some kind of cocktail."Ladies?" the ser

  • Cursed To Love You   Chapter 28

Writer's POVElara's eyes lit up with recognition as she took in Amelia's nearly naked form. A slow, calculated smile spread across her face. "Amelia!" she exclaimed, her voice dripping with fake sweetness. "I didn't expect to see you here. You look... well, you certainly know how to make an entrance."Amelia tilted her head slightly, her expression unreadable as she looked Elara up and down with deliberate slowness. The crowd around them seemed to hold its collective breath, sensing something was about to happen."Thank you," Amelia replied smoothly. "I have to say, that's quite an outfit you're wearing. Very... fashionable."Elara practically glowed at what she interpreted as a compliment, her confidence surging. She did a little turn, showing off her designer bikini, clearly feeling like she was winning some kind of invisible competition."This old thing?" Elara said with false modesty, running her hands over the expensive fabric. "It's just a little something I picked up. Designe

  • Cursed To Love You   Chapter 27

Drasa's POVI looked up to see Kai holding the microphone, his eyes wide with what looked like genuine surprise as he took in my transformation. The spotlight from the stage area seemed to follow his gaze, illuminating me like I was some kind of exhibit on display. Maya's hand immediately found mine, her fingers warm and reassuring as they interlaced with my own. She could sense my growing panic, the way my breathing was becoming shallow and rapid. Without hesitation, she raised her voice loud enough for everyone in the immediate area to hear."Hey, Kai! Continue with the program and stop eating Drasa with your eyes!" she called out boldly, her tone carrying both authority and protectiveness. "Give the girl some space to breathe!"I felt a surge of gratitude toward Maya that was almost overwhelming. Here was someone who barely knew me, standing up for me in front of a crowd of people, refusing to let me be turned into some kind of spectacle. Her boldness in that moment made me feel l

  • Cursed To Love You   Chapter 26

Drasa's POVThe moment I agreed to go, panic set in. I stood still staring at my pathetic excuse for a wardrobe, suddenly regretting every life choice that had led me to this moment."Okay, what should I wear?" I asked, pulling open my tiny closet with all the enthusiasm of someone approaching their own execution.I grabbed the first things I saw, a pair of baggy cargo pants that were probably two sizes too big and an oversized hoodie that could double as a tent. They were comfortable, safe, and most importantly, they covered every part of my body.My roommate took one look at my outfit choice and burst into laughter."Oh my God, no!" she gasped between giggles. "You cannot, and I mean cannot…. wear that to a pool party. You look like you're about to go camping, not socialize with actual human beings."I felt my cheeks burn with embarrassment. "This is what I have," I mumbled, clutching the clothes to my chest like armor. "I don't really have party clothes.""That's not party clothes,

  • Cursed To Love You   Chapter 25

Drasa’s POV I dragged my exhausted ass back to the hostel after telling Cassian exactly where he could shove his party invitation. The audacity of that guy thinking he could just declare me his "girlfriend" after calling me a slut and expect me to play along like some kind of accessory."Fuck off, Cassian. I'm not following you anywhere," I'd snapped at him, and even when he got that stubborn look on his face the one that probably worked on other girls I made myself crystal clear. I wasn't interested in being anyone's fake girlfriend, especially not his.By the time I made it back to my dorm room, it was already evening and I felt like I'd been hit by a truck. Thankfully, my roommate wasn't there. I didn't have the energy for small talk or explanations about why I looked like death warmed over.I collapsed onto my bed, finally allowing myself to process the morning's chaos. Just as I was settling into the quiet, my phone started ringing."Hello?" I answered groggily."Drasa, it's Ame
