Unknown pov

The walls are not always what they seem.

A wall built from an aged log can seem innocent to bystanders as they glance at the small cabin in the woods, thinking it’s just someone’s safe haven.

In reality, that small log cabin can be hiding secrets beyond imagination and someone’s wildest nightmares.

The same as walls covered with fresh paint and beautiful wallpaper - they’re beautiful from the outside, but underneath, they’re covered in mold and rotten blood.

That’s exactly why I

  • Cursed by the Alphas   77. Not scared of her father.

Alister pov“No one touches her tonight.” I say to the rest of the men with me.Hayes turns on me so fast I almost laugh. The look on his face is priceless and paired with how he’s still holding his side as if Lenox broke everything that could be broken just makes the whole scene better.“Repeat that, freak. I dare you,” he growls.“No one touches her tonight,” I repeat, slower, like I’m talking to a preschooler. “Not you, your brother, the snake and not me. Ophelia made it clear we must stay outside and that’s exactly what we’ll do until she tells us otherwise.”Tate snorts out a laugh and drags a hand down his face. “She said stay outside because she doesn’t want us. That’s the whole point, genius. We should drop this shit and leave. If she ever changes her mind, she knows where to find us.”Hayes’s head snaps toward him. “We’re not leaving.”“We are if she doesn’t want us here,” Tate says with a casual shrug. “Look around, brother. This is her party, her family and her mute freak s

  • Cursed by the Alphas   76. It’s genetic.

Ophelia povWithout waiting for another answer I don’t want to hear, I walk straight past the guests and head toward the table where the birthday cake is waiting for me. Some pieces are already missing - so much for waiting for the birthday girl to get her slice first. “You can’t exactly avoid this,” my wolf mutters, “the Goddess-”“If the Goddess wanted a speech from me, she should’ve sent less men my way,” I cut her off. When I approach the table, I want to cry, scream and laugh at the same time. The cake is giant, at least twice my size and the amount of frosting covering it is just downright ridiculous. Quickly, I grab a plate, cut a slice that would make mom hiss about manners, and shove the first bite in my mouth before anyone tries to stop me.“You’re stalling,” the wolf grumbles. I roll my eyes, even if she can’t see the attitude. “No, I’m eating. Very good cake, tastes like diabetes and upcoming migraine, ten out of ten, would totally suggest to my enemies.”“You can’t esc

  • Cursed by the Alphas   75. Ophelia can.

Ophelia povI’m so confused, I don’t know what to think anymore. All of them start speaking over each other, the only person who remains silent, just holding my hand, is the serpent. Alister, Hayes and Tate are too busy screaming at each other to notice the growing panic in me. Whatever I expected of my coming of age ceremony, it wasn’t this. “Stop!” I suddenly scream and silence them all. My chest is heaving with heavy breaths and my face feels so hot, my skin might as well melt off. I take a few seconds to gather myself before I speak, “I need you all to calm down.” Alister actually has the decency to look ashamed even as he flashes me a small, barely there smile and mutters, “sorry, baby, won’t happen again. Promise.” The next moment, he walks back to me and wraps an arm around my waist, pulling me a little closer while the serpent still holds my hand, looking equally as entertained as bored. “Okay, here’s how it’s going to work,” I start, forcing my voice to remain steady,

  • Cursed by the Alphas   74. After what you did.

Hayes povThis can’t be happening. Fuck me, I already had a feeling that Ophelia was my mate. Scratch that, I knew, deep in my fucked-up soul, that she was the moment I first caught a whiff of her scent and realized I couldn’t get enough of it. But now, there are three more fuckers I have to compete with and one of them is my brother? How is that fair? Not to mention that mute freak is no longer mute, very clearly, and he’s obviously her favorite. “Hold up,” I hear myself saying long before I realize I’ve opened my mouth. My voice sounds strained, laced with agony of the pain that tears through me with every movement I make. Tate looks no better than I do - that fucker Lenox really did a goddamn number on us. I swear, he has far more strength than he makes it seem. “How the hell is this supposed to work?” I ask once everyone’s eyes turn to me. I must look pretty darn pathetic with my hand pressed against my ribs, favoring my right side and all, but honestly, I don’t give a shit.

  • Cursed by the Alphas   73. Foaming around the mouth.

Lord Cylus povMagnificent. Ophelia Vincent is like no other woman I’ve laid my eyes upon. Don’t get me wrong, I knew it long before I had a chance to see her in person - the rumors fly, even in places as dark and forgotten as the underworld. But now, as I set aside the burning desire to add a piece to my collection and focus on her presence rather than the rarity of her bloodline, I realize I’ve won more than I bargained for. And, as fate would have it, I didn’t have to spend a single dime. Of course, there are some details I’d rather not think about, one of them being the fact that she has four fated mates, including me. Then, there’s the fact that the rest three are all Alphas, which quite frankly, pardon my language - sucks. I suppose I could try to ease the irritation by making it clear that the man holding her isn’t a born Alpha by blood, but he still holds the title and if anything, based on what all of them give out, he’s the most possessive of them all. “I said back off

  • Cursed by the Alphas   72. This is hell.

Ophelia pov“Okay, this is totally not good,” I whisper to my wolf, even though nobody but her can hear me, “four is a little too much, isn’t it? Alister is okay, I’ve known him all my life, I can trust him. The underworld creature? Okay, fine, I can live with him. But the Graves twins? The Goddess has a sense of humor, that’s clearly a fact. Not cool.” The crowd around me is completely silent and that, somehow, is far worse than if any of them decided to scream, gasp, curse or even gossip. Even my dad is quiet and shutting him up usually is harder than anything. “Maybe this isn’t as bad as you think?” My wolf tries. “Maybe having four mates is a good thing? A blessing from the Goddess? We’d have four men following our every whim?” I let out a chuckle, but it sounded weak and bitter, nowhere near amusement. “Our whims? Love, you’re looking at four men, three of them are Alphas and one is some fucked-up Lord from the underworld. You really think men like that would serve us rather
