ROMAN POV
" You're fire, get out of my office" I command nonchalantly as I scroll through my laptop. I have had enough of Vera, my drug merchant. She has become so incompetent this pass week that I feel she has to pay the price, despite her 5 years of good service. " Boss please I need this job. My son is hospitalized and ..." She says before I cut in " Not my business. You lost goods ward $100,000. You should be greatful that I let you live. You have a month to provide my drugs or you will pay with your life" I threaten " Please boss. I don't know where I could get such a large sum. Please give me another chance, I will make it up to you " She persist in her pointless persuade at convincing me to reconsider her case. Women are such pretenders, but I know too much to let her or any of them play with my intelligence. " Kelvin, throw her out" I command Kelvin, my delta who is standing next to me. " Right away Alpha" He answers before pulling her out. " Alpha please don't do this to me" She beseeches me, but I pay her no yields while she is still being dragged out. I then return to my work like nothing happened, only to be distracted by a familiar masculine voice. " You really shouldn't let go of a trusty worker like Vera" Mr Williams, my right hand man, personal adviser and uncle. " Uncle, I didn't see you there. Have you been there long?" I ask ignoring his former statement. " Vera has been an important part of this cindicate, you can't just go ahead and fire her over one tiny mistake" He informs as he takes a seat opposite to mine. " A mistake that cost me a hundred thousand dollars" I inform angrily " And she has earned you millions" He reminds. " You know, I don't tolerate incompetence. My number one rule is never make mistakes" I remind equally pissed " You are making a mistake. Roman no one is perfect" He lies " But you are wrong uncle. I am perfect" I inform looking him straight in the eyes " That's where you're wrong son. You're not" He informs " I don't have time for this drama. What do you want uncle. I am sure you didn't come all this way to play my conscience" I say nonchalantly " Oh yes, I almost forgot. One of the lorry carrying your goods got into a huge accident" He informs " What?. How much worth of drugs did I lose?. I hope that stupid driver didn't snitch on me to the police. Such incompetence all around me" I yell shuffling my laptop off my desk and stand infuriated. " Relax. I am talking about your legitimate business. You do remember own a shoe company, right?" He reminds, jogging my memory. " Why didn't you say so. I will take care of it. I hope the goods are still in good condition, or else that driver is going to rod in jail" I say with a sigh before retaining my seat. I then quickly lets out a breathe of relief, I didn't know I was holding till now. Don't get me wrong I love my shoe company, but not as much as I love this cindicate. " Heartless as ever. Shouldn't you be more concerned about the well being of your employees. Employees are what makes a business flourish" He informs " And my money is what keeps them fed" I remind nonchalantly " We agree to disagree on that son" He informs " Oh yes I almost forgot. Your daughter Claire wishes to spend some more time with her father" Claire is my 5 year old daughter with my choosen mate and, ex wife Sia. We were happily married for over 8 years, or so I thought ontill I caught her in bed with my cousin Kane. We go a divorce 4 years ago and since then I haven't laid eyes on her, she doesn't even bother to check up on our child. Guess it's true what they say, " You can't love who you don't love". I gave her everything and yet she couldn't bring herself to love me. She scattered my heart and for that reason I will never forgive her. I hate her, I hate her with everything in me. " But we see each other everyday" I remind nonplussed " It's not enough. She claims you never have dinner with her, and you mother. Is it because you're avoiding your mother or is it because of the absence of a woman?" He questions. Again with the wife issue does he ever stop. " I have told you already. I am not ready to get a new wife anytime soon, and about Flora, I don't consider her as my mother" I inform sincerely. In all honesty, I hate talking about that witch, Flora. She abandoned me when I was just a toddler for her lover and when he dumped her, she came running back. For what?. Forgiveness. What a joke. " Yes, especially since you have sex toys and maids everywhere" He says mockingly " Uncle, please don't talk about my sexuality. I will give my daughter more attention" I inform in a effort to end the conversation " What about your mom?" He questions " I have no mother" I inform simply with a neutral demeanor. ##########ROMAN POVI sit at my desk, staring blankly at the papers in front of me. My mind is elsewhere, still reeling from the events of the previous day. Sia's sudden return and her claims have left me shaken.Just as I'm starting to gather my thoughts, my assistant buzzes in. "Boss Roman, you have a visitor."I look up, expecting it to be a business associate or perhaps a client. But instead, I see Sia standing in the doorway, a look of determination etched on her face."Hi Roman, how is your day going?" Sia questions, walking towards me, her heels clicking on the floor. She then takes a seat opposite mine, crossing one leg over the other."Emma, excuse us," I command calmly, not wanting anyone to witness this uncomfortable encounter. My assistant silently obliges, leaving Sia and me alone."Sia," I say, my voice neutral. "What can I do for you?""Roman, we need to talk," she says, her voice firm.I raise an eyebrow, feeling a sense of unease. "I'm busy, Sia. Whatever it is, can't it wait?"
ROSE POVAs evening falls, I'm still trapped in the events of the day. Sia's return and her claims haunt me like a plague. I sit in front of my luxurious dressing table, staring blankly at my reflection. Roman's voice echoes from behind me, "Rose, sweetheart, I've been calling you."He gently pats my left shoulder as he takes a seat beside me. "Sorry, I was distracted," I lie, grabbing an alcohol swab from its pack. But he sees right through me."Really now?" he says with sarcasm, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "You do know that's an alcohol swab, not a wet napkin, right?" He adds, jolting me back to reality.I feel a flush rise to my cheeks. "Oh, that was an honest mistake. Thank you," I say, returning the swab.Roman's expression turns concerned. "What's really wrong, babe?" he asks, taking my hands in his.I try to brush it off. "Nothing, honey. Let's just go to bed. I'm tired." But Roman's not having it."No, we're not going anywhere until you tell me what's wrong," he insists
SIA POV I storm into my two-bedroom apartment, slamming the door behind me. I'm fuming, my anger boiling over like a pot left unattended on the stove. How dare Roman dismiss me like that? Me, the mother of his only child. How dare he choose that...that...thing over me?I throw my bag onto the couch, pacing back and forth across the room. I'm seething, my mind racing with thoughts of revenge. Roman thinks he can just cast me aside like yesterday's trash? He thinks he can replace me with that fat, disgusting woman?I stop pacing, my eyes narrowing as I think of Rose. She's not even pretty. What could she possibly offer Roman? Why is he so obsessed with her? Does she satisfy him better in bed than I do? For Pete's sake, that woman is barren. Roman's made a big mistake. He thinks he has won, but I'll show him. I'll show him what it means to cross Sia.Just then, I hear the door open behind me. I turn to see Kane walking in, a carefree look on his face. "Hi, beautiful. What's up?" he asks
ROSE POVIt's happening again - the thing I feared most. Someone better than me, with more rights than I, is fighting for the man I love. My heart sinks as I watch Sia sweep Claire into a tight hug, her eyes blazing with a possessiveness that makes my skin crawl. I'm paralyzed with fear, my limbs trembling as I realize that someone better than me, someone with more rights than I do, is fighting for the man I love.Claire looks up at me with a nonplussed expression, confusion and curiosity etched on her face. I can tell she has no idea who Sia really is. Roman's face darkens, his protective instincts on high alert, but before he can intervene, Sia's gaze meets mine. Malice sparks in her eyes, and I feel a chill run down my spine. This is the woman who abandoned her daughter and family for years, and now she's here trying to destroy our happiness. She rises to her feet, her eyes fixed on me with a venomous intensity. She hates me that much is clear."What are you doing here, Sia?" Ro
