CHARLOTTE POV

We exit the diner and head over to a group of trees nearby. I take off my clothes again and pass them to Scarlett, who puts them in her backpack while I shift. I shake out my fur once the shift is completed and move up to Scarlett. She kneels down and runs her fingers through my fur while she gives me a tight hug, which is like only a quarter of what it should be. Harmony and I try our sister connection.

“Scar?? Can you hear us?”

We pull back from Scarlett’s hug and look at her while we tilt our head to the side. She smiles weakly at us before saying,

“I’m sorry Harmony, but I can’t hear you. Without Ruth, I don’t have the ability to talk to you. Come on, sis, let's head back to the castle.”

Scarlett stands up and walks over to the motorbike that was missing from the garage. She gets on, starts it and then takes off in the direction of the castle. I jump into a jog and catch up to her. Even though I said to race, I keep my pace with her. Once we are back, we enter the
