A TRIPLE CORD
Monday the 19th of March 2021, a fearless trio, Peter, Layo and I Fetty stormed the Urban Planning Centre in town. The Urban Planning Centre handles building and construction matters in the state. The office allocates space to prospective land owners and ensures all building activities are in accordance with it's laid down rules. Peter, Layo and I left the Urban Planning Centre feeling hopeful. We didn't just establish an element of doubt in the office, we brought the General manager's senses to the realization that there is a conspiracy. I woke up the next morning as earlier as I could. My mother, Tami and Kiki were sleeping. I woke up before the alarm I set on my cell phone had rung. It was few minutes past 5:am. Was I a bit too early? I had thought on my way to Peter’s room. I shunned the voice in my head who was begging me to take a U turn back to our room. I knocked on Peter’s door not being sure of whether he would respond or not. He might still be asleep I thought. I knocked for the third time telling myself it was the last time I would knock if I did not get a response. “Who is there?” I heard him say. “It is I Fetty.” I quickly replied. "I have an idea. " began Mr. Chinedu. "We are all ears sir. " I replied paying keen attention to him. "We will enter the streets of London, sought for all property owners who had received the demolition notice, then we will meet with them. " he paused to pick a phone call then continued after mumbling some words via the phone. "We shall know who gave them the notice, who they have been speaking to and what measures did their supposed saviours make them take. " he said. I smiled and said "They will lead us to the perpetrators. " "Exactly. " replied Mr. Chinedu. He then turned to Peter and said "Do you think maybe your dad can help us out? " "No" I screamed before Peter could say a word. All of them suddenly looked at me in a strange manner. I knew I had to explain the reason for my disagreement. "Sir, " I began. "Since we promised to keep this entire endeavor a secret task, shouldn't it be left so? " I said. "Well Fetty you are right but my father is no strange man. "
DAWN THE CABAL OF JUSTICE
I woke up the next morning sooner than usual. I always possessed this habit of waking up early when I had a task ahead and this demolition task is one task I find very fundamental. Today at noon, Mr. Chinedu will come down to London and we shall start our dear quest. I did my regular chores and as usual, everyone in my family went to his place of designation. Tami and Kiki had left for school around few minutes past 7 am. My mother left for the bar at exactly 10am. Today, my evening or perhaps night shift will commence. My mother shall return home around 5pm while I shall take over and close the bar at 10pm. I had taken my bath already, had breakfast then resolved to making lunch. I had thought that Mr. Chinedu might arrive late evening and I might stay all day waiting without preparing lunch therefore I felt I should make lunch and keep before he calls us. CHAPTER 40: A NEW CHAPTER My mother has always told me of how important it was for me to move on no matter the odds. When my father left for Libya half a decade ago, she said we must move on.
