SIMON’S POV

I woke up to a heavy weight on my shoulder.

My head was banging. “Fucking hell!”

I should have trusted that bad feeling in my guts and just kept my eyes closed, because when I woke up, I was face to face with a living nightmare.

I was naked in the bed with Bree.

“Ahhhhhhh!”

I jumped out of the bed so fast I did not even think, my body reacting before my mind could process anything. I landed on the ground with so much force that pain shot up my arm immediately.

“Ouch.”

I rubbed my elb

  • DEAR EX HUSBAND, YOU LOVED ME TOO LATE   YOUR LOVE IS POISON

SIMON’S POVThe television screen hanging in the corner of the bar was blurry.Or maybe that was just my vision.Fuck, at this point, I honestly could not tell the difference.“Another one,” I slurred, banging my empty glass against the counter hard enough that amber liquid from someone else’s drink splashed onto my sleeve. The bartender, a young guy with tattoos crawling up both arms, looked at me with the kind of exhausted expression that said he regretted showing up to work today.“Sir, I think you’ve had enough.”I barked out a laugh so loud that a couple sitting three stools away flinched.“Enough?” I repeated. “You think this is enough?”I pointed to the line of empty glasses in front of me.“This is not enough.”My tongue felt too heavy in my mouth, my thoughts swimming around like fish in a muddy pond.Anika was gone.I just wanted to drink until I disappear. “Another drink,” I demanded, sliding a wad of cash across the counter. “Keep them coming.”The bartender pushed the mo

  • DEAR EX HUSBAND, YOU LOVED ME TOO LATE   THE ANGEL SAID YES TO MY PRAYERS

LIAM’S POVAll the nervousness that I felt just completely vanished the second that I had Anika in my arms. The soft scent of her hair attacking all of my senses all at once. I let it, I wanted it to…. So damn much.It took so much from me to not reply to her texts all day.It felt like torture, stopping myself from reacting to every single vibration of my phone. But I wanted to surprise her.Today, I was going to propose to Anika again.I hope she would say yes.Not because she was forced to.Or because she had any guilt towards me, or that she felt like she owed me in any way.But I wanted her to say yes to me because she loved me… and because she wanted to start a life with me.I tightened my grip on her hand for a second, grounding myself in the fact that she was really here.Real.And so mine.I offered a hand to her.“Come on babe.”She slipped her hand into mine and allowed me to lead her towards the table.“Such a gentleman,” she said, teasing softly.I smirked. “Only for you.

  • DEAR EX HUSBAND, YOU LOVED ME TOO LATE   UM… SURPRISE?

ANIKA’S POVI was lounging in the living room, trying and failing to relax while watching Off Campus.I kept shifting on the couch, muttering to myself, “Okay Anika, breathe, he said he was working late.”Still, I had sent at least fifty messages to Liam, and not a single reply had come through. I frowned at my phone. This was unlike him.I mean he was the reason I was this restless in the first place.Ever since what happened, Liam had insisted on total rest.I had to stay at home, all day every day without working and honestly, I was losing my mind. And now, here I was, staring at my phone like it had personally offended meWas he busy, or just flat out ignoring me?And I hate to be a brat complaining about nothing, and I definitely trusted Liam, but…Damn, he was supposed to be obsessed with me, wasn’t he? Not replying is driving me crazy.I tossed my phone onto the couch and groaned into a pillow.“This is ridiculous,” I muttered to myself, flipping the TV channel again to someth

  • DEAR EX HUSBAND, YOU LOVED ME TOO LATE   I WILL MAKE YOU SUFFER

SIMON’S POVI could not stop the laugh that tore out of my lips.It was harsh and bitter, the kind of laugh that scraped at my throat like broken glass. My chest rose and fell violently as I stared at Bree.No matter how much I thought about it, I still could not understand how I had been this stupid. All because Bree told me a few lies, I went ahead and abandoned the only woman who had ever truly cared about me.The only woman who had loved me.Anika.I put her through hell.I doubted her.I insulted her.I chose her sister over her over and over again. And all for what?Because I cared too much about the woman standing in front of me now.The woman who had destroyed everything.“No,” I said, my voice low and deadly. “You did not have to do any of this, but you did it anyways.”My words hit her hard, accusation digging into her skin.Bree’s eyes widened with panic.“Simon, please,” she whispered, shaking her head. “Don’t do this. We are getting married. We have a life together.”I hi

  • DEAR EX HUSBAND, YOU LOVED ME TOO LATE   SIMON, YOU’RE BACK?

SIMON’S POVI had just come back from another stressful meeting with Liam’s team, where I had never been berated more in my life.I was the CEO of Smith Construction and Design but Liam treated me like I was less than a pesky moth trapped against a windowpane. Flick. Dismissed. Flick again. Insignificant. And as if that was not enough, I had to deal with Liam smiling at his phone every one too many seconds. That irritated me more than I wanted to admit.Because I knew who was on the other side of that phone.Anika.Liam was closer to Anika in a way that I had never been. With Liam, Anika had this sexy charm around her, the way she smiled at him all the time, the way she dropped soft kisses on the side of his neck like she had no fear of being seen, no hesitation no ounce of shame. She was unabashed with him.It was like she had become someone else entirely. When we used to be together, she was meek, boring, dressed like a god damn grandma most of the time.Cardigans. Plain shoes. Hair

  • DEAR EX HUSBAND, YOU LOVED ME TOO LATE   DO YOU BELIEVE HIM?

ANIKA’S POVI woke up with my throat parched.Everything hurt so badly. It felt like I had been run over by a truck and then dragged across broken glass for good measure. My head throbbed. My ribs ached. My face felt swollen.Even breathing seemed like a chore, and I was one of the biggest fans on Oxygen there was.I blinked rapidly, my eyes trying to catch up with my brain. The room was white. And then there was that god awful smell of antiseptic. Then the steady beep of a monitor reached my ears.Suddenly I remembered,The parking lot. Those men.Liam.I forced my eyes open wider. And there he was.Sitting right beside me.His elbows were braced on his knees, his face buried in his palms. His broad shoulders were slumped, and his legs were shaking so badly that the entire chair trembled beneath him.My heart clenched.I tried to speak, but my throat burned.“Li...Liam.”It came out as nothing more than a hoarse whisper. But it was enough. His head snapped up immediately.“Baby!”He
