Theodore's POV:

The corpses of the guards were lying on the forest scattered.

Each one of them was died from a sudden attack. But looking at their bodies, I didn’t find many injuries.

Some faint bruises but they didn’t look serious enough to cause internal hemorrhage or fracture.

I sat on the ground near the dead body of a young guard. I stretched my hand and touched his forehead. This man didn’t look like he was dead long ago.

Closing my eyes, I tried to search if his memory was still there or little fragments were left. It was gone the time his soul departed his body. Trying to find the memory of a dead person and looking into it, it was highly discouraged in witchcraft. Because many people used it to perform destructive black magic.

I didn’t find anything. I examined a few more bodies but found nothing. All of their brains were empty.
