Chapter 4 - Visiting Eva!

Eva's POV:

"How are you feeling, now?" As I opened my exhausted eyelids, a white colored room greeted me.

A middle-aged woman wearing blue uniform asked me.

Then I remembered that I was brought to a hospital, due to extreme chest pain.

"What happened to me? My heart?" I queried.

"We had to perform a ECG and Echocardiography. But we haven’t found anything wrong. Your heart is absolutely fine. Each chamber is well functioning, no blockage or nothing. Don't worry." She replied.

"Then why did I feel so much pain suddenly?"

"Physically you are completely fine. Even your pressure is also normal. So, it may be linked with psychological cause. But you have no abnormality in your heart, not even in your lungs. But still you should do an X-ray for your lungs, if you want to be 100% sure." She asserted.

I nodded.

"Have you experienced this ever before? Do you have sny history of high blood pressure or diabetes?" She questioned.

I shook my head.

"Any history of heart disease in the close family like mother or father?"

I shook my head, "No."

"Then, I can't say anything. You are fine, for now. You were given a sedative, leave after the effect wears off. Good luck." Smiling at me, she left my room.

I took a taxi my way home. The ride was quiet, and I didn’t know why but my heart filled with an unfamiliar sort of emptiness.

The two incidents- one from three days ago and the other from today, proved that I was alone, all by myself to fend for.

I was sick, alone and still I had nothing at my house to eat. Body was too weak to move a limb.

I ordered food from outside. Had my grandma been alive, she would really be angry at me. She hated ordering food from outside.

Her foods tasted heavenly. I ate the food as soon as the delivery appeared and headed to bed changing into a panty and a t-shirt.

But my luck was bad; I was roused from my sleep due to nightmare. I saw the same horrible things I saw yesterday.

Now it felt unbearable. I couldn’t wait and then sleep again. I needed fast relief and sleep. I took a sleeping pill and gulped it down with water.

The pill somehow forcefully lulled my vagrant nerves to sleep.

Theodore's POV:

"Alpha, may I enter?" I heard my beta William's voice.

"Yeah." I was checking on some files sitting inside my Alpha office room.

"Alpha, I have news from Black Sun pack. The alpha of that pack forcibly wants to occupy our wood land of the south. He even declared the land as his territory." He described.

Hot rage washed over me. My blood boiled in fury.

"How dare he! They are tired of their bloody lives!" A growl escaped my mouth.

"Alpha, their alpha even said whoever would try to stop them would directly call war against them." William said.

"Okay, then we must not delay. Inform all of our first line warriors, we are going to protect the land which belongs to us." I stated.

"Yes, alpha." Saying, he left the office.

The left side of my chest throbbed. I could feel my wolf hauling inside me. It was asking to break free. It was yearning to see our mate.

I chanted a spell and closed my eyes.

I chanted the spell again but nothing happened.

Why my spell didn’t work? It wasn’t the first time in my life. Whenever my wolf was upset with my being; my magic, witchcraft didn’t work.

I closed my eyes. My wolf wanted his mate, our mate.

But I preferred death than mating a fucking human. I couldn’t reject her, because if I rejected her, my wolf would never co-operate with me. I would lose my witchcraft as well that would morph me into the most pathetic alpha ever. And eventually I might have to step down from my position.

To secure my future with a worthy she-wolf, I needed to kill that pathetic excuse of a human mate. The mate who would only bring misfortune for me. As I didn’t mark her yet, I would be able to get past the painful phase of mate loss. I would be in physical pain for some days but I would be able to get it through.

I would be able to get another mate. Or If I didn’t get another mate, it would be okay as long as I got another she-wolf.

My antipathy for human being was too extreme to accept a human as mate.

My informer got all the information about that human girl within a day. I just got the name from Natasha and then gave it to my informer. I must say he was quite capable.

Two hours later,

I didn’t know why I was here, standing in front of that crafty human's house. My legs dragged me inside the building as I climbed through the stairs.

The building was old but it was clean. A too much clean for my expectation.

I stood before her apartment door and chanted a spell. The door got unlocked automatically before me. A smile stretched on my lips. It was one of the perks of my witchcraft.

I entered inside the dimly lit two-room apartment. It was not as shabby as it looked from outside.

And the apartment from inside was even cleaner and cozy with minimal furniture. I must say it gave a homey feeling.

There were photo frames attached to the wall. A smiling old lady and a little girl sitting on her lap. The old lady must be her grandmother. She died a few months ago according to the information I got about her.

Another photo caught my attention where the crafty human was sitting alone inside a garden wearing a hat and sundress. This photo was taken when she was a teenager, might be 14 or 15. Her white teeth were sparkling as she smiled widely. Beautiful.

I didn’t come here to admire this apartment or the crafty human.

I was here to take her life. I headed to her room and my breath literally stopped when my eyes fell on the exquisite beauty lying on the bed. So, fragile yet so lovely.

That crafty human, Evangeline, was she always this beautiful or my eyes were playing tricks on me tonight?

.....................................................................................................

A/N: What do you think? Would Theodore kill her tonight? Or something is going to happen?

Agree! I keep rearranging and editing it in my head as I’m reading it.

The writer should take basic grammer classes. Verb tense is often wrong. Some sentences make absolutely no sense. Have someone with a working knowledge of English proof read your work.
