THORNE'S POV

One of the people I didn't expect to see this morning when I woke up was Tank and it was kind of like hell trying to get rid of him, he just wouldn't let go.

I sat at the dining table, drinking coffee from my favorite mug, when he came to sit beside me. I immediately tensed— not because I hated the company, but because I hated the talking and teasing that always came with it.

"Did you sleep well?" He asked, first time Tank ever started a discussion with a greeting. Every other day I have lived, he only just sneaked in upon me, I never even always saw him coming.

"Yes," I muttered. "And you?" I asked, grabbing another mug and pouring some coffee into it for him.

A mistake I shouldn't have made— because, technically, it meant you're welcome. Besides, if I hadn't served it for him, knowing Tank well enough, he would have done it himself.

"Mine was pretty much amazing." He replied. I could have guessed his answer even in my sleep. Tank never saw anyth

LYRA'S POV And that was the last thing I wanted to happen, as much as I wanted to be with him, I had to consider his health which in this case was dangerously at stake. With a sharp intake of breath, I went over to Ryan's room just to check up on him and see how he was faring, to my surprise he was still asleep since before, having slept for more than six hours was quite unusual especially for an afternoon nap. I bet I couldn't call it a nap anymore. I closed the door to his room and made my way to my own. There were plenty of things I needed to take care of in the pack, but they would have to wait until tomorrow. Right now, I was too tired to make any more stops that didn’t lead straight to my bedroom… well, except for this one last stop. I noticed Elyan walking towards me in the distance. I waited impatiently at the doorway, I just hoped what he had to say wouldn't really take long. "Did you invite a guest?" That was his first question and he looked kind of

  • DESIRED BY MY LYCAN EX AND THE BETA   Chapter 79: 😔... HELP THORNE— MY THORNE

LYRA'S POV "So… how is he now?" I started. There was no difference on Thorne's features. He still remained the same pale version of himself as he was before Raphael came into the picture. I knew healing usually takes time, but couldn't there be an exemption in his case, something of a miracle, anything whatsoever as long as it brought him back. Raphael paused with a deep breath, "I don't know but, for one thing you must know that he isn't getting better yet." "Why do you think I must know that?" I asked, my mind had skipped the connotative meaning of his words. I was only worried about why he had used the verb must and not something much less concerning like should. I saw him blatantly bite his lower lip while Tank was off in the corner, apparently he wasn't paying attention to any of us while he crossed his fingers. "I'm just saying you've asked me the same question about a dozen times in just the few hours I've been here and I would like you to kno

LYRA'S POV I hissed! So loudly slamming my palm hard against the wall in frustration. "I need to have a talk with Selene and it's urgent." I said with a sigh. "And why is that? I'm sure there are plenty enough people to talk to in the Nightshade. Why exactly would you choose Selene?" I could definitely see her grinning while I head my palm in a tight fist. "It's about Ryan," I said. At least, if Duncan was on the other end of the call and could hear me, he would be able to put two and two together and realize what I meant. If he wasn’t, then this was a total lost cause for me. "I hate to say this Lyra but I don't care about Ryan. Find another healer for your son." She said and just before the line went off, I heard a crash in the background, probably to do with ceramics or stainless, I wasn't sure. I turned back to Tank slouching my shoulders in defeat. "I guess you were right about this one." I hated that he was right, not because I didn't wan

  • DESIRED BY MY LYCAN EX AND THE BETA   Chapter 77: 😏 **

LYRA'S POV I sat back on my bed holding my breath for no reason whatsoever, maybe it was the fear of losing Thorne or the uncertainty of how I might behave to Lira. Speaking of Lira, I never thought I would hate someone who shared my own name as much as I hated her now. I had no idea what to do, right now she was being locked up in the dungeon awaiting her fate which even I was yet to decide. I didn't even know what step to take next, should I be considerate? I wasn't even patient enough to hear what she had to say. Or should I just assume she was a traitor and just go on about the punishment thing? I took a deep breath; regardless, I had to figure out what to do about Thorne before worrying about her. I picked up my phone, which I had dropped a few minutes earlier when I tried calling Duncan, but he wouldn’t pick up. I entered the password for my phone, waiting for it to unlock, and when it did, I went to my contacts, searching for Duncan’s name, which I assumed would be at

LYRA'S POV "Is he getting any better?" I asked Mirabel moving my head an inch forward as she packed up her medical tools. "Obviously, he isn't Lyra. He is out cold and that's even worse than being hot." She said. My head fell as I palmed my face. "So there's nothing you can do?" I questioned. "I don't think I have enough experience to deal with something like this Lyra." She shook her head. "But you're the best doctor in this pack, if you can't heal him, who else would?" I asked her. "I don't know, Lyra, but whatever is going on with Thorne is out of the ordinary. It's not normal," she voiced the very thoughts I had in mind. Of course, I knew it wasn’t ordinary, but I had hoped. Was it a crime to hope? "Have you tried using your healing powers on him?" Mirabel asked me. "Yes, I have but it's not working and I think it only made him worse." I revealed to her. "What do you mean you think? He didn't look as worse as this when I came

  • DESIRED BY MY LYCAN EX AND THE BETA   Chapter 75: 🏃‍♀️ RUNNING FROM GUILT, STRAIGHT INTO DOOM

LIRA'S POV My heart was thumping, my legs were shaking and my kidneys were failing! Well, not exactly failing but right now I was begining to breathe at the same place with an ambulance siren or even with a much faster pace. "Hello ma'am, Is there something you would like to order?" A waitress approached me. "Uh, eh…" I stuttered. "W- water, I would just take water." I chuckled nervously while the girl stared at me with a suspicious look. "I would go get the water." She said and walked away slowly. I closed my eyes and tried desperately go catch my breath, I had every reason to have an heart attack right now but that just wouldn't be the best way to solve my problems. Tank had asked me to meet him here at the local restaurant just three hours after he showed up at my house this morning. I knew I shouldn't have picked that call this morning but what else could I do. I certainly couldn't hide from my guilt forever. One way or another, the tru
