DESTINED

Kyle's pov

"Mum I told you I'm not marrying anytime soon, I'm not ready to settle not just now or soon" I say.

"But my son, remember your dad and I are getting old,I need a grandson plus you need someone to help you run the companies",mum says

I'm having a hard time to convince my mum that I'm not ready to settle not just yet,but mum being the convincing and tough mum she is, I know she isn't going to bulge till when I marry ,she's so determined to see me getting a girl and settling down.

"Mum I heard you but where do I find a girl to marry soon as you claiming,you know marriage is not just anything you jump into without taking cautions,it's a forever commitment ", I say to her

"I understand Kyle but you should try and make it soon I want to see my grandchildren before I die you know I'm becoming old", she chuckles

"Okay okay mum I heard that I'll note it in my to do list,if you don't mind I need to get going I have meeting to attend and there's a interview I'm holding today ,I need to recruit some more employees,my PA just got a maternity leave and there's some few posts I need to reshuffle",I say to her

"Okay don't forget what I told you its crucial,I also need to get going I have a scheduled appointment at the spa,drive safely son I love you",mum says

She leans in to peck me on the cheeks and I hug her in  return

"Bye mum",I say to her

I watch  mum heads  to her car,the driver opens the passenger's side and she slides in.

I'm having a hard time considering my mum's request ,my life is a mess when it comes to love and commitments . I'm a hit and run guy being the women's type ,I have numerous girls and ladies drooling over me on social media not to mention the numerous followers on my accounts , I'm not just any rich spoilt brat ,but I have worked my ass off to convince my dad that I'm ready to take over the family businesses and when he was finally convinced I promised to make him proud of me and I wanted nothing to destruct me,first thing is love. Ever since Chloe broke my heart back then in college I've never had the urge to date again. Chloe was my girlfriend back then in college ,she ceased being one when I caught her red handed having sex with my best friend, Kevin. I trusted Kevin and Chloe and I never thought they would do such an awful thing to me.

Anyways ever since that incident I ceased dating and having these commitment issues,I only have the friends with benefits things which is  just good to me and I'm comfortable with that.

I'm well known in my town ,I have a body to die for,something that ladies love. That is an advantage to me because I can just get any girl I want,invite her over in my apartment,have sex with her and then dump her that is  my routine.

This issue marriage is giving me a hard time,this is not the first time my mum shows  up in my apartment to remind me that I need to get a girl and settle down,and it's not like I'm that old but this is ?Mrs Parker for you,I am  carrying the family's name,  that's her reminder always

   Sometimes I wish I was like my younger sister Shillah ,she has no pressure from my parents though she is still in her Senior year in high school. She has a smooth life unlike mine,but then I  remind myself that she's still young,naive and daddy's girl unlike me.

With the thoughts still ringing in my head,I slide  into the driver's seat as I head to work. I still have a lot of things to catch up putting in mind about my mum's request.

I switch on the music system of the car and connect my phone as I search for my favorite song in my play list, Drake ft Travis Scott's, "sicko mode" song comes through the speakers,I raise the volume to 50 and hum  softly along it as I drive to work. I am  so engrossed in the song that I don't see pothole just in front of my car ,just as I drive to avoid hitting it,I find myself hitting on to another pothole which is full of dirty water just at the other side of the road,and that's when it dwells on I have just ruined her clothes,I splashed dirty water on the lady walking by the roadside,she madly screams at me calling me names. As  the car swivels I try to put it in a halt,in my mind I'm planning to go apologize to her ,it's not like I'm the apologetic type but I meet the surprise of my life,the lady has the guts.

"You psychopath,son of a bitch,how dare you splash dirty water on my favorite pair of pants", she screams at me.

It's not how she speaks with much vigour that gets my attention,as I park my car on the other side of the road and come out to her help,I watch her with much intensity. She has a round face,with a fine chocolate skin,her hair is well tied up in a pony tail,her hips are protruding and well shaped as seen form her pair of pants,her petite waist is just something else,I am mesmerized by her beauty,busy staring at her that I don't even realize that  she is still  shouting at me."sorry  wasn't concentrating ,I'm sorry mum I ruined your clothes,"I said

"Keep the sorry to yourself,I'm late for an interview and you just chose this as the perfect time to ruin my day and to set the record clear I'm not an old woman for you to call me mum", she sneers." And by the way it's not good to stare at strangers,that's creepy" with that she's gone

I watch as she sways her hips and crosses the road to reach the other end and she gets into the bus.

I slide back into my car and drive off on the busy road to avoid getting stuck in a traffic jam.
