The meeting began: “Welcome to our annual conference for shapeshifters and magical beings. Ava's POV The castle seemed to have been built long ago by a king; the outside was covered in ivy and the inside was full of grand rooms and towering staircases. William led me through the castle then stopped in front of a door and knocked twice. After a few moments, the door was opened by a tall, pale man with piercing eyes. "William, my dear friend!" he exclaimed, leaning forward to hug him. He then turned his gaze to me. "And who might this be?” "Oh, forgive me," William clicked his tongue. William's POV “I’ve noticed Ava has felt out of place during many of our voyages,” Thomas told me with a worried expression. “Yes, I did notice that too,” I replied. “But I'm really trying my best to protect her and help her settle in.” I paused, then continued, “Even though she’s out of her element, she’s always eager to learn and try new things. I can tell she’s a natural explorer, and I really admire her courage and determination.” Thomas nodded. “True. Even when we went on the journey to that isolated island. It was a stunning place, with white sand beaches and crystal but we soon found out it was also home to a group of hostile natives. They didn't like visitors much.” I smiled. “Yeah, I could tell Ava was feeling nervous and scared, and I did my best to reassure her. She was still eager to explore though.” I added, “The natives were closing in on us, and it was clear that we needed to make a run for it.
