Mia's POV

Ava and I walked along the beach. It was a beautiful day, with a clear blue sky and a warm sun shining down on us. Despite that, my mind was still preoccupied with the events of the past few hours.

I couldn't help but think about William's ex-girlfriend. “How can someone be so cruel? Why would she target me, a complete stranger, when she could have just as easily gone after William? Or better yet, not attack anyone at all?”

I knew that I couldn't let my guard down, especially with the potential threat at hand. But at the same time, I didn't want to live in fear. I wanted to enjoy my time with William and Ava, without always looking over my shoulder.

"Why are you thinking about all this?" Ava asked, breaking my thoughts. "You should be relaxing."

I chuckled. "Sorry, I was just lost in thought."

Ava shook her head. "You need to learn to live in the moment. The past is in the past, it's the present that matters."

I nodded, taking her words to heart. Ava was right.
