[Rue’s POV]

I plaster a smile on my face and toss my long blonde hair over my shoulder as I move toward my target, and when I reach him, I take a seat on the lounge chair beside him.

Making it seem like I was just getting there and just happened to choose this spot, I get comfortable, and when I look over, I find him watching.

“Hello,” I smile, enjoying the way his eyes travel along my body. “You don’t mind if I sit here, right?”

“Of course not,” the guy smiles, his green eyes that are surround

  • Daddy's Pet.   Show Interest

[Grant’s POV]I stare at my father as he watches me, his gaze darkening from the anger he is working to hold back, but even then, I don’t back down. For years, I was an obedient son. I did what was expected of me. I tried my damndest to get this mans approval, until I learned the truth. He wasn’t a man that would ever accept anyone unless they would do what it was that he wanted.Even now, that was exactly what he was doing with Rachel. He was using her as a pawn to try to get me beneath his thumb, but that wasn’t going to work.I would be damned if I ended up there or like any of the others that he managed to win over.“Grant,” the man in question says slowly. “How could you say such a thing about her? Do you know how that makes her look?”“Do you know how having her follow you around all the time makes her look?” I challenge. “Do you really think people aren’t talking?”I didn’t miss the murmurs in the crowd. I didn’t miss the stares and the looks of amusement because everyone was c

  • Daddy's Pet.   Assert Her Dominance

[Gianna’s POV]I watch Grant as he steps into his grandfather’s room and when he turns to give me a look of reassurance, I simply nod.Go on, I think, watching him. Go and see him.It is clear that he is worried. The way that he is acting is plenty enough proof of that, and I could only hope that things weren’t too bad and that whatever ailment he was dealing with would be cured soon.Once Grant disappears, I turn my gaze to the two who stand silently beside me and realize that I was now alone with my enemy.Dammit. I think as Rachel’s gaze slowly trails down my body, clearly sizing me up. Maybe I should have tried to go with Grant, but since I didn’t, I would have to play nice for now.“Rachel, was it?” I ask, deciding to break the silence first. “It’s good to see you again.”“Is it?” She asks, making it clear she has no intention of playing nice. “I’m afraid I can’t say the same…what was your name again?”“Gianna,” I smile. “My name is Gianna.”“Gianna,” she repeats, crossing her ar

  • Daddy's Pet.   Protect Him

[Grant’s POV]“Don’t be ridiculous,” grandfather huffs. “This is nothing that a bit of rest won’t cure.”Frowning, I take in the man in front of me as I try to keep my composure. I was more than aware that his stubbornness knew no bounds, how could I not? I inherited it myself.“Then let me call…”“I’ve already been examined by Rachel.” he snaps. “You know that she went to school to become a doctor and has even opened her own practice.”“Even then, I would like someone unrelated to examine you.”I don’t know why, but I don’t trust those who hover around grandfather, not when he was the thing standing between the family's inheritance and the position of CEO.There were more than a few people who would want him out of the way so that they can get their hands on power and my father, the man who was closest to him, was one of them.“I’ll call Noel,” I offer. “She will certainly come rushing home to examine and take care of you.”“Don’t bother her,” grandfather sighs. “She is too busy with

  • Daddy's Pet.   Disappoint Him

[Grant’s POV]My father’s voice echoes behind me as I move toward the large mansion in front of me and when we reach the front door, I shove it open.Once inside, I move straight to the large staircase in the middle of the front alcove while Gianna silently lets me lead her along. When we reach the stairs, we carefully take them one at a time and when we reach the second floor where the sleeping quarters are, I head to my grandfather’s room. However, as we reach, I suddenly stop moving and I’m left staring at the door in front of me.“Grant,” Gianna murmurs as I just stand there staring. “Aren’t you going to go in?”As she speaks, she gently grabs my hand that rests on her hip and she moves it, placing it at my side, making it clear that she feels it would be best that I go in alone.“It’s fine,” she tells me as I shift my gaze to hers. “I’m certain that he wants to see you.”“Maybe,” I chuckle. “But he isn’t exactly happy with me right now.”I was certain that father told him about m

  • Daddy's Pet.   Properly Introduce

[Gianna’s POV]I stare at Grant, waiting and watching while he finishes his conversation and only when he hangs up, do I give him a look of disbelief.“What?” He asks, though I know he knows. “Why are you looking at me like that?”“Why do you think?”How could he possibly decide everything with asking me? First with telling my mother and Anthony about us and now with this. Didn’t I have any say?“This was bound to happen anyway.” Grant tells me and even though I know he is right, I’m still not happy. “Don’t worry.”As he speaks, he pulls me against him and I feel my traitorous body wanting to relax.“Don’t think cuddling me will stop me from being angry.” I huff. “How could you do that without consulting me?”“Did you know you’re adorable when you’re angry?”Grant.I was coming to realize this was the way this man functioned and even though I know this is just how he is, I still can’t stop myself from being annoyed.“You could have waited a bit.” I sigh. “Why do you insist we reveal t

  • Daddy's Pet.   I'll Handle It

[Grant’s POV]I take Gianna in, noting the way her eyes sparkle with unshed tears, and I immediately go on alert.“Are you alright?” I ask, moving toward her and forgetting about my discussion with Anthony completely. “Hey, look at me.”As I speak, Gianna does her best to try to act like nothing is wrong, but it is easy to see.“It’s going to be alright,” I murmur, wiping a tear as it escapes. “Don’t worry.”“Mmmm.”It’s all she says before leaning into me and as she does, I can feel Anthony’s gaze burning into me.I’m not sure what it is that he is seeing in his mind that likes to make up it’s own scenarios, but honestly, I don’t care. All I care about right now is making sure that Gianna is calm and at peace for the sake of not only her, but for our unborn baby.“Come on,” I murmur, holding her close while I turn us toward the street. “Let’s go home and come back here another day.”“Grant,” Anthony calls as I make it clear that we are done here. “Be careful.”His voice is filled wit

  • Daddy's Pet.   Graduation

[Leo’s POV]I stand in place, disbelief rushing through me along with confusion and guilt because I’m certain that something I did must have pushed Rue to want to leave so suddenly. But what?I was certain that things were going fine. We were getting along. We were coping. We were even moving forwa

  • Daddy's Pet.   Seperate Ways

[Rue’s POV]I remain in place, watching as Leo sleeps peacefully, memorizing his face since I know that this will be the last time I see him for a while.Once I’ve gotten my fill, I turn and quietly head back up the stairs and into my room, where I start packing.“This is for the best,” I whisper a

  • Daddy's Pet.   Draw A Line

[Rue’s POV]I stare at Leo, taking in the satisfaction that appears in his dark eyes over me simply calling him by his name.Who knew that something that simple could make someone so happy when the world around them was still crashing and burning? I most certainly didn’t, but if I could bring him a

  • Daddy's Pet.   Be Her Comfort

[Leo’s POV]I watch silently as Rue quickly escapes the chaotic scene that is taking place. The urge to go after her hits me, but I stay in place.“Look what you did." Mykel grumbles, drawing my attention back to where he sits. “You chased her away.”“Me?” I huff, letting my gaze travel over him. “
