After breakfast at Meme’s, I go straight home. My foster parents are not even back yet, so I use the key to get in and have the place to myself. I got started on the homework I'd neglected all weekend and I finished it within a few hours. When Maxine and Kevin finally show up, they convince me to accompany them to the mall. I walk between them with my arm looped through Maxine’s, trying to avoid anyone I know.
I’ve been successful so far, and even when we head to the restroom I still haven’t seen a soul I know. However, I’m in the stall tinkling when I hear some girls talking about how a snobby rich football player named Travis Baker from my school had gotten a girl at their school pregnant, and his parents paid for the girl to have an abortion so his girlfriend wouldn’t find out! What?! Well, guess what bitches? I’m the girlfriend and I just found out in the worst way.
I’ve hidden the relationship from Maxine and Kevin, so I act normal when I come out of the stall. I’m pretty sure the girls also have no idea I’m the girlfriend because they carry on talking with me standing there. I wash and dry my hands before texting Meme what I just heard in the bathroom! Her response isn’t one of surprise, but then again, she’s been telling me for weeks now to get rid of Travis.
Instead, she takes a more lucrative approach and texts me ***so u gonna ride the biker king like ur at the rodeo?***
***No!***
***for me? Let me live vicariously thru u plz***
***gross Meme***
***whatever! But let him take ur ass to school tomorrow and put Travis in his place. Then, when he gets bored waiting for u to give it up, u move on from it***
***don't think I’m getting out of him taking me to school anyway***
***lol! Probably not***
We go to a few more stores before heading home, and as I’m getting ready for bed my text alert goes off. It's not Travis… But Spin!
***How was ur day Loyalty?***
***I don’t want to talk about it and if u don’t stop calling me that I’m gonna stop responding***
***My baby girl had a bad day? Whose ass do I have to kick?***
I don’t know why this makes me laugh, but I smile as I type out ***don't worry about it, I leave for school at seven***
***I’ll be there***
I spent the rest of the evening reading, and fell asleep with my face in my book!

Despite it being late Autumn, the crew is out back grilling or hanging around the fire pit. I spent the day observing how the men of my crew treat their old ladies, the crew I inherited from my piece of shit excuse of a father. Most of the men respect me even though I’m younger, because I’m just as cruel as my dad was, if not more. In fact, some believe I’m a little too trigger-happy… But when you grow up a biker, you have that 'protect what’s mine' mentality ingrained in you at birth!
The men here who are tied up have a dominant sense of control over the woman they are tied to, which makes sense since their pledge is to provide for and protect. And our women who are tied up, they’re spoiled but at the same time take care of us… And not just their men, all of us!
I’m sitting down on a cut log that we use as a makeshift bench by the fire pit, when Brenda, who belongs to my second in command, sits next to me and leans into my arm. She’s fairly young, with a significant age gap between her and Dan. “What’s eating you Spin”?
I lifted a brow at her, “what makes you think something is wrong”?
“Really?”, she says, raising her brow back and bumping me with her shoulder. “How long have I been running with you? Do you think I wouldn’t notice a shift in my king? I’m insulted”!
I chuckle and say, “it’s nothing really”.
“I beg to differ! And I’m willing to wager it has something to do with a certain girl dotting pink hair that you snuck up in here like this isn’t your house”, she says. “That's all the ladies are talking about! So have you found our queen”?
I shook my head no at her, “it’s complicated”!
“When are relationships not complicated?”, she says.
“This is a little more so! I dunno what it is about her, I want her”, I admit.
“And she doesn’t want you back?”, she asks.
“Nope”, I told her! “And she’s got a tool for a boyfriend that her girlfriend can’t stand! Apparently, she doesn’t believe anyone. Oh, and then there is the age difference thing”!
“Spin shhh just stop”, Brenda says. “First of all, none of you guys are what a woman would consider relationship material. And like with D and I, I wasn’t into a man a decade older than me, but he wouldn’t give up and here I am. So, I feel you Spin”.
“She’s supposed to rule with me, but she’s not even legal”, I tell her.
“How old is she?”, she asks.
“Turning eighteen sometime next month”, I said.
“Well, that’s only four years younger than me, and the ladies respect me, so why not her if that’s who you choose?”, she says, like it’s no big deal. “You know us ladies are very welcoming, we take in everybody. Plus, seven years ain’t that big of a deal”!
“So what are you saying?” I asked.
“I’m saying you keep trying, and if need be, you bring me along to help you out”, she winks at me. “At first I couldn’t stand D, but now I dunno what I’d do without him”!
I take in everything Brenda has said and head back inside to text her…
***How was your day Loyalty?***
***I don’t want to talk about it and if u don’t stop calling me that I’m gonna stop responding*** Well, she is certainly in a mood. She get her period or something?!
***My baby girl had a bad day? Whose ass do I have to kick?***
***don't worry about it, I leave for school at seven*** So does that mean she wants me to give her a ride?!
***I’ll be there***
Again, she doesn’t respond back, so I set my alarm and lay there in bed until I passed out.
Hello fellow readers... the chapter was short for both characters so I published them together! This will not happen again until Chapter 9, so happy reading!
Loyalty sobs herself to sleep in Bo and Max’s hold and her unconscious body is then carried by Bo out of the warehouse, where she’s loaded into an ambulance and taken to the hospital to be examined. After she’s released, she’s taken to Nina’s house where she barricades herself in Jonny’s bedroom with Stephany for days! The day before Jonny’s funeral, she goes with Bo, Max, Rich, all three of his brothers, and his sister to get a tattoo. I don’t understand what possessed her to get such a thing, but she’s in mourning right now and I’m still feeling shitty that the one fucking guy I loved to hate was the one who saved my life. But still… The tattoo bothers me! Right in the center of Loyalty’s chest is a life-like replica of the back of Jonny’s left hand. In the middle, it reads Jonny Anthony Knight. It also lists his birthday as Sunrise September thirteenth, and the day he died as Sunset October fourteenth. That wouldn’t be so bad, but on the ring finger of the handprint, it says ‘Amor
Loyalty and Stephany spend one night with Jonny at his mother’s house before returning to her Brooklyn apartment. She calls me and pleads with me for space, and we agree that she’ll return to the lake house with our daughter on Saturday. Each day becomes more and more miserable without them, and by Friday I’m losing my fucking mind!Pardon my shock when Jonny calls me and I send it to voicemail the first three times before actually answering, “what”?“Amory is missing”, he practically whispers.“What the fuck did you just say?” I growled out.“Amory is missing”, he screamed into the phone. “I need you to get down here. The police want to have a word with you”!“Where’s my fucking daughter, Jonny?” I barked out frantically. He sighs, “she’s fine! She’s upstairs in the apartment. How long until you get here, Spin”?“An hour”, I told him before hanging up.I dial Gabe and he bolts down the stairs like a flash of lightning and we’re out the door in s
I wake up in the bed of my Brooklyn apartment wrapped in Jonny’s arms, and if we weren’t both completely naked I’d almost be inclined to believe that the last few months of my life were just some really bad dream. I called Spin last night and pleaded with him for space, and after promising to return to the lake house by Saturday, he reluctantly agreed. I feel sick, although I don’t admit this to Jonny. Instead, I emphasize that my feet hurt, my back hurts, my boobs hurt, my butt even hurts, and I’m just tired beyond exhaustion. He does what he can to comfort me, but I know the stress of my situation is starting to become daunting to all of us involved. I’m bored to death with Jonny’s constant babying of me and when I suggest going down to the club for our last night here in Brooklyn, he agrees yet straight up tries to dress me! Eventually, I got my way. However, I do swap the shoe suggestion for the shorter wedged heels he chose from the stilettos I originally picked.
I attend the date with Spin, only to end up in bed with him in some random room in the colonial. After knowing his history with women not sleeping in his bed, it leaves me feeling queasy that I even let it happen. It’s been three years, but I’ve come to terms with the fact that Spin just doesn’t do it for me anymore! I took Jonny back down to the lakeside hideout and confessed everything! At first, he was furious. I get it, we’ve been like fucking like rabbits with each other, so why would I even have allowed that to happen? I guess I was caught up in a moment and the alcohol sure didn’t help! “Mi Amor”, (my love) Jonny says as I lean against the hood of his car. “What is it”? I sighed before babbling out, “I did something last night that I shouldn’t have. I’m now sick to my stomach over it and I have to be truthful with you about it”. “Amory, what is it?”, he says calmly as he folds his arms over his chest. I can tell he already suspects what I’m going to s
I wake up still pissed off about Jonny’s contract and how fluidly both he and Loyalty move with each other. I try not to stress it and switch my focus to doing damage control. I have tonight all planned out, and like with the night of the Broadway show, I’m putting Loyalty’s preferences first! I leave for work without so much as a peep from anyone, even Jonny is surprisingly still upstairs in Loyalty’s private wing of the lake house. All these extra doors are starting to become a nuisance… Was it necessary to construct a hallway closure barricade in both houses?! She’s so peculiar about certain shit to the point it irks me! When I arrive back at the lake house, I head to the shower before I seek Loyalty out. She’s in the hammock with Stephany lying over her. Even though our daughter is only almost three, she covers most of Loyalty’s body. Another testament to just how small she is compared to everyone else around her, even her own child! Courtney joins Loyalty in
Loyalty, Jonny, and I traveled back to Brooklyn for one last week. They spend the week packing up their stuff to be taken to the lake house, while my anger at how close they’ve grown in the last month just seethes and festers within me. I haven’t been able to get more than a full-on-the-mouth kiss out of Loyalty and it aggravates me since she randomly breaks apart from Jonny’s hold whenever I enter a room they’re in together. By the time we make it to the courthouse for the DNA hearing, steam is coming out of my ears! It doesn’t help that Stephany throws a tantrum in the parking lot that results in Jonny carrying her like a China doll perched on his arm. I tried, Rich tried, even Loyalty tried, but Stephany refused to stop crying until Jonny took her into his arms. When the case is called before the judge, Loyalty is escorted to the plaintiff's desk with Rich and Jonny, who still has Stephany clinging to his neck. I stood alone at the defendant’s desk. I turned back a
