~ William's POV ~

I practically sprinted out of the club, ignoring the booming music, and hailed the first available taxi. I had to make use of this golden opportunity while Dante was busy getting a fucking lap dance. That disloyal prick!

When the taxi pulled up, the mansion was eerily quiet. Only the usual, bored looking guards were posted outside, and a few low ranking Tigers who rarely ventured upstairs were milling about, drinking and chatting away. It was the perfect setting I needed to carry out my mission.

I hurried to my room first because I needed to move fast and clean. I grabbed my camera deactivation device, hoping the damn thing still worked. Thank goodness it still did.

“This is it,” I told myself, checking the device's battery level. I had to succeed this time because I might not get another opportunity like this, especially since that crazy Rocco was around now.

I put on my secure earpiece and dialed Emily who picked up immediately.

"The house is empty so I'm going i

  • Dangerous Game: The Devil's Secretary    Your fault!

The minutes I had to wait patiently had bled into hours, and the hours had become a slow, agonizing torture that was eating at my insides. I sat in a secluded corner of the waiting wing, my bulk form hunched over, elbows resting on my knees and hands clasped so tightly my knuckles were white as snow, if that was possible. I kept my eyes tightly shut, forcing the world out from my mind. The low hum of the hospital's ventilation, the distant squeak of rubber soles on linoleum, the muffled pages over the intercom or the different patients calling for a nurse…it was all noise I wanted to crush from my mind. It was distracting and annoyingly disgusting. The only thing I allowed to occupy the void of my mind was Liam.I pictured his face in my mind, not the bruised version I had seen earlier, but the way he looked when he was pouting over work or the way his eyes sparked when he was trying to outsmart me…which he usually never could anyway. The fear I felt was cold and sharp, it was like

  • Dangerous Game: The Devil's Secretary    If you truly loved me!

~ Dante's POV ~Before I could even process the movement of my body, I lunged forward, my fist connecting with Antonio’s jaw with a sickening crack. The force sent him flying, before his body slammed into the cold hard hospital floor. Blood bloomed instantly from his split lip, staining the tiles as his eyes widened in shock.I was on him in an instant, my shadow looming over his crumpled form and all I could see was red at this point. I reached down to hoist him up by his collar, ready to dismantle the stupid face of a man I had trusted all these years."Dante stop! You’re going to kill him!" Rocco’s voice broke through the haze as he grabbed my arm, trying to haul me back.I snarled, a sound more animal than human, and flung Rocco aside with a violent shove. "Fuck! Get off me!" I hissed as I turned to continue with this maddened craze I was about to unleash on this traitor.Marco stepped between us immediately, his massive frame like a wall, blocking me from my plan. "Boss please,

  • Dangerous Game: The Devil's Secretary    Lost!

From the very moment Liam walked into Dante’s life, everything I had painstakingly built for myself began to crumble little by little.I knew from the start that he was definitely trouble. He was too smooth, too curious, too loveable. I hate to admit it but he really was a likeable and cute person. But he was a cop, an enemy to people like us and I hated the way Dante dismissed my concerns even though they were valid. He was playing along, letting Liam sink his roots deep into our lives when they should have been cut off from the start.Dante had always had sexual partners in the past and I never worried about any of them, including Eve. She had her moments, but he never stuck to one person. Because of his condition, his taste was peculiar, leaning toward the transactional or the violently submissive type, but they were never attachments. They were just sex, earned, paid for or intimidated into silence, and then they were sent away. But with Liam, the change in Dante's eyes was unde

But I refused to be like them. I refused to be a robotic human. I approached Marco who was the only one I could talk to at least. "We should form an alliance," I insisted. "We can protect each other…it would be better than dying alone." I tried my possible best to convince him.Marco, though reluctant, finally agreed after days of pestering. And like my plan, we survived because we were protecting each other's backs, ensuring we both made it through the violence. We survived for a few more years, staving off the constant threat of death. Mr Giordano usually promoted the strongest survivors to the rank of what he called made men and they became part of the lowest of the gang structure, finally allowed to leave the arena and work properly and it was my dream to make it to that point. Maybe then I could finally be free.I was around fifteen or sixteen when a new batch of boys was recruited because most had died, and were brought to the long quarters and the games started all over again

  • Dangerous Game: The Devil's Secretary    Mercy

“Run!!”The only thing I heard was Marco screaming at me to run, his hand shooting out and pulling me along with him. I ran blindly, my energy fuelled by terror, and I barely knew the grounds so where the hell was I even going? How would I know where to hide? I guess I'll just figure it out. This mansion was normally so grand and imposing, but now it had instantly transformed into a large killing field. We scrambled through tunnels, vaulted over hedges, and ducked behind large ornamental fountains. We just …we just wanted to survive. I could see it in every young boys eyes. Soon, the five minutes were up in a flash and it was time for the hunt. Then came the first gunshot, a loud bang that was a single, definitive report. Someone had gotten a number vest and another someone had died. I remember Marco saying the vest can only be taken off a dead body. How cruel was this Giordano. He only brought me here to die. Then another loud gunshot erupted in the air, and another, quickly esca

  • Dangerous Game: The Devil's Secretary    The game!

"We're going to hell," Marco whispered, his voice chilling to the bones.Hell? What was he talking about? Before I could process what he was saying and ask more questions, a man's sharp voice cut through the air, barking commands at us.“Hurry up whimps. Move now, or you will be punished if you hold up the line.” He shouted at us.I quickly fell into line, and moved behind Marco. The crowd of boys shuffled quickly down a corridor until we spilled into a massive hall. It was clearly built for combat, with high ceilings, observation platforms, and heavy equipment lining the walls. I definitely couldn't tell that such a huge hall would be in this mansion. There were cameras and monitors everywhere and at the side weapons were lined. The boys were ordered to line up in a straight formation. I stood next to Marco, my confusion warring with a paralyzing sense of dread as my stomach was beginning to get upset. At the far end of the hall in a raised podium, there was a golden chair, adorned
