Dangerous Game: The Devil's Secretary

Dangerous Game: The Devil's Secretary

William hated the mafia more than anything. Haunted by the brutal death of his sister, the young officer accepts a dangerous mission to infiltrate the notorious Tiger Fangs gang and steal a file that could bring the entire mafia empire crashing down. He disguised himself as the secretary to the gang’s ruthless leader, Dante Gordiano. But nothing prepares William for Dante himself. He was mesmerising, ruthless, and far too captivating. William had imagined an ugly beast for such a reputation as Dante’s. Every stolen glance, every heated exchange chips away at William’s resolve. The deeper he goes, the more he risks losing not just his mission… but his heart also. Yet Dante has his own game to play as he lures William into the little stage he has prepared. Enemies close in from every side with traitors hiding in plain sight and allies with knives behind their backs. Lies and deceit weave the chains tighter and William finds himself trapped in a deadly dance of power, passion, and betrayal. In a world where love is a weapon and trust is a luxury, William must decide. Was Dante his ruin, or the only one who could save him?

Chapter: I'm F**ked!!!
The hallway behind the main stage of Elysium was like a museum of hanging costumes, flickering neon, and the frantic energy of people who lived for the night. My heart was hammering against my ribs, a rhythmic, violent thud that felt like a drumbeat of war. It was a sensation I didn't recognize…not the cold adrenaline of a hit, but a frantic, heat-filled pulse that made my vision blur at the edges.I was acting on pure impulse and I didn't think, I just moved with my heart and not my brain. The guards at the backstage entrance stepped aside as I approached. They knew better than to put a hand on a Giordano, especially when I looked like I was ready to bite someone’s throat out. I pushed through the throng of stagehands and backup dancers, my eyes scanning the corridor for a flash of red.“Where is she?” I grumbled impatiently. Then I saw Madam Rita trying to herd a group of girls in glittery feathers toward a side lounge. She stiffened when she saw me, her professional mask slipping f

Chapter: That tiny spark of attraction!
I have spent my entire life building a cage made of scar tissue and broken bones, and I call it a personality. To the world, I am Rocco Giordano, the blunt instrument, the brother who doesn't negotiate, the one who enjoys the wet thud of a fist against ribs. I wear my brutality like a suit of armor because if I didn't, people might see the shivering boy still hiding in the shadows of my mind. I fear looking weak because in our world, the weak are harvested. But more than that, I fear the silence of a house where my brothers no longer breathe. That’s why seeing Dante lately makes my blood boil.Dante used to be made of stone and ice. Now? He’s grown soft. I’ve watched him hover over Liam, that little stray he picked up, like a man possessed. At first, I thought Liam was just a toy, a momentary distraction to dull the edge of the chronic pain in Dante's head. But then came the fallout with Antonio. And I find out that Liam wasn't just a stray, but a spy, a tiny cop with a badge and a mi

Chapter: Become the monster!
Father started handling business as we watched the performance. He sat at a velvet draped table in the center of the VIP section, his presence drawing every nervous eye in the room. I stood at his right, my legs aching, but my mind still stuck in that dark cell where Dante laid broken, wondering how I could help him.A man was brought forward, he was a regular who had gambled away money that didn't belong to him. He was shaking, his sweat mixing with the cheap cologne of the club."Please, Don Giordano," the man sobbed, his hands clasped as if in prayer. "Just one more week. My daughter, she’s sick and I just need a little more time to raise the money. I promise that…"My father didn't even look up from his drink as he flicked a speck of ash from his cigar. "You are bankrupt in every sense and I know for a fact that even if you sell your life, you can't raise what you owe."“Please Don…I …I will pay you back. I just need a little more…”The loud bang ended the conversation before the

Chapter: Monster that eats his children!
The screaming in this household every now and then was not the worst part of living here. Not the blood also, we were used to blood. It was the sound of our own voice that had slowly been silenced due to years of pain. On one of the days, as usual a kid was dragged into the house. He was a six-year-old boy whose world had just been incinerated right before his eyes. His name was Lorenzo, the last of us, and the final mistake our father had dragged home. He’d been pulled through the front doors by his hair, his small shoes scuffing against the marble, howling for a mother who was currently bleeding to death on a sidewalk somewhere across the city.I stood in the gallery with the other brothers, my hands tucked behind my back, my face a mask of stone. Inside, I was vibrating. I wanted to reach out, to tell him to be quiet, because silence was the only armor we had. But to show pity was to sign your own death warrant."He’s way too loud," our father remarked, dusting off his lapel as if

Chapter: Carry his burden!
~ Rocco's POV ~Fear isn’t an emotion for a Giordano, it’s a vital organ we needed to survive this God forsaken hell hole. It’s the very thing that keeps your heart beating when the world wants it to stop. For me, fear began with the scent of damp wool and the sound of my mother’s shallow breathing. I don’t remember her face clearly, just the way she used to hide me in the floorboards of our cramped, crumbling apartment whenever a black car rolled down the street. We lived in wreckage of a house and for five years, I thought we were hiding from monsters in the dark. Maybe we really were hiding from a monster….a very scary one at that.I didn't realize how evil and scary this monster was until the day the door was kicked off its hinges and that was when I saw the beast. My father didn't physically look like a monster. He looked like an angel carved from winter with a god like face that could keep you staring forever, and those eyes, as pretty as they were, they held only the wickednes

Chapter: Tough!
"It’s really going to be a bloodbath," I muttered. "I hope your Angel has insurance, because Rocco doesn't just get angry, he levels buildings. If he finds out he was lusting after a man, he’ll burn this club to the ground just to wash the memory from his brain."Eve just leaned back, blowing a perfectly circular ring of blue smoke toward the ceiling. She let out a melodic laugh. "Oh, hush, Dante. Angel is fine. I didn't find him in a finishing school I found him in a cage fight in the docks. He’s not some fragile little doll you can break by shouting. I’m actually more worried about the structural integrity of Rocco’s ego."I chuckled, though the sound was dry. The thought of someone actually standing up to Rocco was a novelty. "I guess we’ll see if his silk gymnastics translates to a fistfight."The room fell into a temporary dull sound, the muffled bass of the club throbbing beneath our feet like a dying heart. Eve shifted closer, her silk robe rustling. The playful glint in her ey

Chapter: Happily Ever After!
~ Logan’s POV ~My heart was practically tap dancing in my chest. It was today. Today was the day. My wedding day. My wedding with Gavin. A silly, goofy grin felt permanently plastered to my face, and every time I looked in the mirror, it just widened.Peter had been surprisingly invested. I still remember his dramatic sigh when I first mentioned needing a suit, only for him to drag me to some ridiculously expensive boutique three weeks ago to get suits. "Darling you need to look royal," he complained as he picked up fabrics. In the end, he chose a dark blue suit that actually made me look… well, royal. He said going for white was too basic. And this morning, he was here earlier, buzzing around my hotel room like an over caffeinated hummingbird."Logan, for the love of all that is holy, are you even dressed yet?" he shrieked, barging in for the tenth time in the last hour. "The ceremony starts in an hour! Gavin's already there, probably a nervous wreck, and you're still fiddling wit

Chapter: My favourite meal!
It’s been a few months now and I must say, it has been the happiest for me. Peter had, quite simply, moved in. Or rather, I hadn't let him leave. The house felt hollow without his easy laughter, and the mornings dull without the aroma of his coffee brewing. Even the incessant meows of his three ridiculously fluffy cats, had become a comforting soundtrack to my days. They had taken quite a liking to me too, much to Peter’s amusement who thought they wouldn’t like me, especially Claws. They would often choose to nap on my lap while I tried to work on my laptop. Our days were so comfortable. I still went to the office, the pressures of work feeling somehow lighter knowing Peter would be waiting for me at home. He would often text me throughout the day, sending silly memes or asking about my progress even while still at work. Evenings were the best. Sometimes, I would come home to the tantalizing smell of something delicious Peter had whipped up in the kitchen. He genuinely loved to cook,

Chapter: Closure!
My jaw clenched as my damn phone started ringing, tearing me away from the warmth of Peter's embrace. Reluctantly, I pulled back as I answered the call."What?" I snapped curtly without even checking the caller ID."Sir," my secretary's voice said through the speaker. She sounded troubled too. "I just received a call.. your father is..well his health has deteriorated significantly. You need to come home immediately."I was quiet for a while as I processed the information."I'm on my way," I finally managed, I hung up without another syllable.Peter's brow was furrowed with concern, his hand reaching out to gently touch my arm. "What is it Alex? What's wrong?""It's my father. His condition… it's gotten worse. I have to go.""I'll come with you," Peter said immediately, I shook my head because there was no way I was going to allow that. "No Peter. You can't. You don't understand… my father… he's… vehemently homophobic. It won't be pleasant if he..."But Peter's jaw was set stubbornly

Chapter: He's back!
~ Alexander’s POV ~It’s been fourteen agonizing days since the light had been stolen from Peter’s eyes. It felt like an eternity, a cruel suspension of time where the only constant thing was the fear that his eyes might never open again. Everything else became so insignificant to me. The company, deals, every single thing, I abandoned it all, and I was basically living in the hospital. I felt alien to anything else but the beeping of the machines that kept Peter’s fragile body alive.I didn’t want him to remain in the public ward so I had him moved swiftly to a private hospital, two weeks ago in a VIP ward, where the best doctors and nurses could attend to him. Every morning, I would arrive before dawn to watch over him. I would gently bathe him, clean him careful around the bandages. Then I would comb his messy hair. I didn’t want the nurses to do it. I wanted to do it myself. Seeing Peter like this made me so mad and I regretted listening to Gavin’s weak suggestion of dumping Ja

Chapter: Scrubbing!
~~ TRIGGER WARNING!!! For those who doesn't like torture. I tried to make it less graphic though ~~There was a slow curl of Alex’s lips. It was not a smile, not really, but something far more unsettling. He didn't speak further, just nodded his head towards Marco. Marco in turn immediately barked a series of sharp commands at the other guards. "Get him secured! Set the bastard up!"My gut clenched. A cold dread began to seep into my veins as I watched them move with efficiency. Alex, meanwhile, was on his feet, his gaze dropping to the figure of Jaxon huddled on the floor. There was no pity in his eyes, only disgust. Jaxon was already a mess of whimpers and desperate pleas, his voice cracking with terror as the men descended upon him.Two of them hauled Jaxon up, his limbs flailing uselessly, and dragged him towards a heavy looking iron surface that lay in the center of the room, I didn’t even notice it before. He was laid face down, his body trembling violently against the cold meta

Chapter: Vendetta!
“I want in,” I stated, my voice firm, brooking no argument. Alex turned to me, his emerald orbs that had turned so dark locked in my gaze. “Can you handle it Gavin?” he asked. I met his gaze, and I felt a bit offended. “What do you take me for?”His eyes narrowed, a hint of something dangerous glinting within them. “What I’m about to do isn’t about ordering someone around Slade. I’m going to do this myself. With my own hands.” His voice was colder now, devoid of any warmth. “Can you handle that?”I stared into the abyss of his eyes, seeing the raw hate that resided there. It was unsettling. I swallowed hard before replying. “Yes,” I finally said, my voice low but resolute. “I can.”Alex nodded, a grim satisfaction flickering across his features. He stood up abruptly. “Let’s go. We need to be back before Peter wakes up.” He started towards the door, then paused, turning back. “Where’s Logan?”I snorted. “I thought you’d never ask.” I told him about Logan’s internal bleeding, the shar

Chapter: Chapter 169
~ Iris POV ~Three years had passed since the blood and chaos of that night in Luka’s mansion, three years since I had looked into the cold, dead eyes of Luka Lane. In those three years, Leigh and I had built a life together, a sanctuary away from the shadows of the past. Our own mansion was where we lived now, far away from the main Troy mansion. Two years ago, under the glow of the full moon, we had finally become one, our souls bound together in a love forged in fire and tempered by time. He had made me his mate and we were blessed by the moon goddess. Leigh had sworn not to return to the old Troy mansion until the old Alpha breathed his last and he had kept to his words, it was a heart breaking but necessary severing of ties. We had found our own happiness, clinging to each other as we navigated our own future together.Today also, was a day for celebration. Nicolas and Clarisse were finally tying the knot. The air in our bedroom was thick with the pleasant chaos of getting rea

Chapter: Chapter 168
~ Leigh’s POV ~My lungs burned, each ragged breath shot pain through my entire body. But I knew I had to forget this pain I was feeling, I knew the ceremony was fast approaching, and Travis was unreachable this whole time too so we did not know whether he had arrived Lane’s pack or not. There was no time. No time to rest, no time to fully heal. Iris was in danger and I must save her.Every fibre of my being screamed at me to move faster, to bridge the impossible distance that separated us. Every mile felt like a lifetime, every rustle of leaves a potential delay. Clarisse was so worried. “I can’t reach Travis… we don’t know if he made it.” She said on the way. Nicolas’s updated us not too long after. “Travis just called… they encountered heavy resistance. It is clear that Luka anticipated them.” I clenched my jaw. That bastard. He is indeed an old weasel. “No matter what,” I snarled, “we break through and defeat him. We have to.”And we did. The fight was brutal. When we arrive

Chapter: Chapter 167
What I felt inside wasn’t just a power. It was an understanding. An understanding that made me feel ancient, yet utterly present, as if the moon goddess and I were two halves of a perfect whole. My vision were sharpened, and I could see everything. Every sin, every judgement. Every weakness and strength. I could see it all. With a roar that echoed through the hall, I launched myself at Luka, and flinged him far, sending him crashing against the wall. He hadn’t even fully regained his footing before I slammed into him again, sending his hulking form sprawling again once more. My eyes, I could feel, burned with an otherworldly light, fixed on Luka with an intensity that made him flinch.“Your opponent is me, Luka Lane!” I stated, my voice resonating with a newfound authority, a power that was both mine and something far more greater.Luka snarled, pushing himself up, his grey fur bristling. “So, the little moonflower has finally found her thorns, huh! Chapter: Chapter 166
Travis’s strength was visibly slipping away but I could only watch. Each blow, each snarl, seemed to cost him more. Then, the unthinkable happened. Luka, with a brutal swiftness, plunged his massive claws deep into Travis’s chest. An agonizing shout ripped through the air, a sound that tore at my soul.Luka ripped his claws out, and Travis’s powerful wolf form faltered. He crashed to the ground, as a dark stain of blood spread rapidly under him. His gaze was filled with pain and exhaustion, flickered towards me. In his eyes, I saw a heart breaking message. “I’m tired. I tried.” That’s all I could see in his eyes. He was tired and I was powerless. Tears streamed down my face, blurring the horrific scene before me.Luka with his eyes gleaming with a cruel triumph, loomed over Travis. “Insect!” he sneered as he opened his massive jaws, ready to deliver the killing blow, aiming for Travis’s throat.“NO!” The shriek tore from my own throat, it was a desperate shout, hoping it could somehow

“What was that sound?” Archie demanded of the guards turned towards the door. They all looked confused as their eyes darted nervously around “We… do not know Alpha,” one stammered, “but it sounds… it sounds like someone is blowing the place up.”My heart leaped into my throat. Could it be? Could it possibly be him? A flicker of desperate hope ignited in me, chasing away the fear in my heart. Leigh was here. It had to be Leigh. He wouldn’t let them keep me here.Archie’s jaw tightened, his gaze locking onto mine, then a cruel smirk twisted on his lips. “Keep her contained,” he snarled at the servants who stood. “Do not let her escape. I will go and see what this… disturbance… is.” He shot me one last venomous look before turning and striding out of the room, the guards hurrying after him.My mind was a whirlwind of possibilities. Sleep. That word felt foreign. After what I had heard from Ethel, how could I possibly fall asleep. The locked door was a solid testament to my captivity, and the high, narrow window offered no solace at all or a route of escape. I was trapped, and those guards were outside watching. I paced back and forth in the confines of the room. My mind was running like a hamster on a wheel with no way to stop. As I turned sharply, my foot caught on the edge of the bed, sending me sprawling on the ground hard. The back of my head slammed against the marble floor, as a sharp blinding pain shot through me. A loud groan escaped my lips, and for a dizzying moment, darkness threatened to take me again. But then, as the pain subsided, a torrent of memories, sharp and vivid, began to flood my consciousness wildly. The fragmented dreams, the unsettling whispers, the faces I couldn’t quite grasp, they all snapped into place with startling clarity. I could remember everything all of a sudden. I wasn’t

Chapter: Spineless!!!
The heavy doors had barely hissed shut behind Kael before the vacuum he left was filled with a frantic energy from the alphas still seated. It was as if the oxygen which was drained out moments ago had suddenly rushed back into the room, and every Alpha in the chamber was choking on it.Silas was the first to act as he slammed his fist onto the table, the sound echoing like a gunshot. "One security signal? A unified network? He’s not asking for cooperation, that monster is blatantly asking for our throats!" He hissed with disdain and the veins on his head looked like they were about to pop out. His Luna was on the side trying to tell him to calm down but he shrugged her off. "It’s worse than a takeover," Miller of the West added, his voice thin and shrill. He was pacing the length of the glass window, his reflection ghostly against the drop of the valley. "If he controls the encryption, he controls all our movements, our trade, and our very lives. We might as well hand him our title

Kael leaned back, his fingers interlaced over his midnight-blue tunic. He looked relaxed, almost bored, but his eyes were like two blue lasers scanning the room for any form of weaknesses."The borders," Kael began, his voice dropping into a deceptively calm tone. "I’ve spent the morning reviewing the satellite feeds from the Southern Reach and the Northern pack.” He paused as he let the words sink in and I could see all the alphas gulping nervously. “It’s fascinating, really.” He grinned, but it was clearly not out of amusement. “We spend billions on drone technology and biometric fencing, yet the reports of rogue incursions have tripled in the last quarter."Alpha Silas cleared his throat, the sound like gravel in a blender. "Your Majesty, the terrain in the Ridge is difficult and the rogues are using the old mining tunnels to bypass the sensors. We are doing everything we possibly can to….""Everything?" Kael interrupted. He didn't raise his voice, but the word cut through the air

Chapter: Definitely Dangerous!
The air in the Grand Hall didn't just feel cold and suffocating, it felt thin, as if Kael were personally consuming all the oxygen as he descended the final steps of the dais. My heart was thumping frantically against my ribs, the vibration traveling through all the pulse and cores in my body.Cade’s reaction was definitely not to be missed as well. His hand, previously resting with fake affection on my arm, suddenly clamped down. His fingers dug into my bicep, his knuckles turning a ghostly white as he held me possessively with jealousy. It wasn't a gesture of protection but it was just a brand of ownership that he wanted everyone to see. Kael didn't look at the Alphas bowing in his wake. He didn't look at the opulent decorations or the shimmering chandeliers. His eyes…. those predatory, piercing blue were locked onto mine. Every step he took toward us felt like a countdown as the distance closed from ten feet, five, three…and I found myself holding my breath, my lungs burning, wait

Chapter: No peace!
The air in the waiting room was filled with the scent of high-grade cologne, cedar, and the sharp smell of shifting wolf-energy. It was a holding pen for the most powerful people in the territory, yet as we stood behind the massive, carved black doors, we all looked like children waiting for the principal.Cade was vibrating as his fingers flew to his tie for the tenth time in as many minutes, straightening the silver silk until it was likely to fray."Risa, look at me," he hissed, his voice thin. "Is the crest straight? Do I look... solid? The lighting in here is unforgiving." He kept complaining. I leaned against the cold stone wall, swirling the champagne in my flute. "You look like you're about to shit yourself.” I said without looking at him. “Relax. It’s a summit, not a firing squad.""Easy for you to say," he snapped, his eyes darting to the heavy doors as the announcer’s voice boomed from the other side, calling in the Eastern Ridge. Chapter: Weak ego!
I sat before the mirror in my silk bathrobe, my movements slow and deliberate as I applied a dark, smoky shadow to my lids. I looked like a woman preparing for war, which, in a way, I was.Really, it was exhausting, having to do all these and appear perfect all the time, but I had no choice. The door to the room opened, and Cade walked in, the heavy tread of his boots echoing on the marble. Without a word, he tossed a garment bag onto the chaise lounge and dropped his smartphone onto my dresser with a sharp clack."I had the stylists bring this up from the local boutique," he said, his voice tight with an unearned sense of authority. "It’s silver and traditional. It matches my tie and the Northern crest. So wear it." He said casually. I didn't even pause my eyeliner. He wanted me to wear a dress just because it matched his tie? He must be joking. "I’ve already seen it, Cade." I said curtly. "And?" he pressed, leaning against the doorframe. "I know you’re sitting there planning how

Chapter: Thoughts!!!
I lay in bed as the darkness of the room covered me whole, the expensive silk sheets feeling like sandpaper against my skin. Beside me, Cade’s breathing was deep and peaceful like the sound of a man with a clear conscience, or perhaps just a man who felt entirely too secure in his power. He was sleeping way too peacefully for a man that was worried all day, while I couldn't get a moment to shut my eyes. I've been tossing and turning all night, feeling very uncomfortable. I rolled onto my side, my eyes tracing the silhouette of his face in the shadows. Even now, after everything, he was devastatingly handsome. His eyelashes cast long, feathery shadows against his cheekbones, and the harsh line of his jaw had softened in sleep. For a fleeting, weak second, my hand twitched. I wanted to reach out, to trace the bridge of his nose, to feel the familiar warmth of his skin and pretend even if it was just for a moment that the last five years were just a bad dream that I could wake up from.
