CHAPTER 19

CHARLENE'S POV

It was as though there was a large, transparent dome overhead. It looked to be made out of glass instead of concrete. I looked around nervously as I walked carefully, wondering why I wasn't getting crushed by the amount of weight that was being added onto me at a rapid pace.

Suddenly, the whole area around me began to shake lightly, causing me to stumble slightly. I raised my eyebrows in surprise, confused as to what was happening. It couldn't be an earthquake, surely? No way…

Another quake shook the ground violently as I stared at the ceiling apprehensively, waiting for it to pass. When it did, however, it was replaced by a faint rumbling noise which grew louder and louder. I looked around in alarm, trying to figure out where exactly it was coming from. Suddenly the shaking intensified, making me almost lose my balance.
