CHAPTER 20

CHARLENE'S POV

As they entered the room, the man in the front stepped forward menacingly with his arm extended in front of the woman defensively. He shouted threateningly, "Where's the kid? Where is she?"

The female wolf growled fiercely at him, "Keep your voice down, you idiot! If you wake her up, you'll never hear the end of it."

He sighed irritably, "Fine…" he conceded reluctantly, although his eyes were still narrowed dangerously at her. "I hope she's worth it."

As the two stopped a couple of yards away from me, I noticed a long cut across his chest which covered most of his shirt. He must be hurt badly enough to need medical attention! But what could I do to help?

I couldn't heal the injury, and there was definitely no way for me to transport him anywhere without risking exposure. If he hadn't shown up already, I doubted he ever would. My eyes flicked between the three of them as the female spoke.
