The body of the person she her soul was in was water elemental specifically an ice user and she was in phase one. The place she was where she saw a puddle was actually her soul space. A soul space is a hidden place in one’s soul which opens when one is 17, if one sees water like the puddle of water ivy was presently looking at which changes from water to ice in a minute then one is an ice elemental.

A puddle of water meant one was a phase one water elemental, a bigger puddle- phase 2 elemental, a pond- phase3, a lake- phase 4, a well- phase 5, a river-phase six, a larger river- phase 7, a semi ocean- phase 8, an ocean- phase 9 and phase 10- the endless sea in which ones soul space was filled with water-for water elementals-while fire elemental phases where similar just that the water was fire. But phase ten stopped coming into existence about 300 years ago.

Ivy sighed in despair as she sat on the sand. ‘I’ll have to live as ivory now’.

She knew how to exit this place now-her soul space- she stood up and waved her hand then she exited her soul space.

Ivan sat down on a chair in his father courtyard while his father- duke hemming- did some paper work.

‘Aren’t you going to check on ivory’ Ivan asked with a frosty look on his face. Duke hemming lifted up his head and stared at Ivan eye to eye.

‘I’ve checked on her, but you can also see she has been in her soul space for two days no one can draw her out’.

‘but I still think we should go see her’ Ivan frowned ‘we’ve been admitted to provincial clan, we both know if she’s not awake today, she might really forfeit the chance to join the academy this year’

The duke sighed ‘okay, let’s go see her’. Ivan stood up and walked away without waiting for his father.

‘Have I spoilt my son too much?’ duke hemming asked himself as he gave a bunch of papers to his personal servant.

Ivy opened her eyes slowly; she saw her father and brother by her bedside. She wanted to hug them but she then remembered they were not from earth.

‘You’re awake’ Ivan said coldly.

‘Isn’t it obvious’ ivy replied sarcastically as she sat upright with the help of her father. Ivan cared about her but it was just that he was a cold person in this foreign world, a person who doesn’t know how to express his feeling.

‘Ivory’ duke hemming said hugging his daughter. Ivy stiffened; back on earth she didn’t remember when last her father hugged her. Both her parents were too busy making money to have time for her.

‘Father’ she replied getting a little bit comfortable, she smiled it was oddly comfortable been in the embrace of one’s parent.

‘There’s no problem with your soul space right’ duke hemming asked staring at ivory with a loving gaze. Ivory raised her brow up in confusion wondering what he meant then she suddenly remembered she was seventeen. Everyone would awaken their powers at the age of seventeen, at midnight people of age would be down with fever. If they overcome it they automatically be at phase one but if not it meant death.

Ivory spread her fingers and condensed a little snow flake. Duke hemming smiled with pride in his eyes. ‘Am proud of you’. Basically everyone in their family was an ice elemental.

‘What about me, I woke up earlier than her, she used two days to wake up’ Ivan complained.

‘You brat’ duke hemming said hitting Ivan head ‘how can you compare to your sister, she’s a weak girl’.

Ivan snorted coldly as he fixed his hair ‘I just styled my hair’.

‘Oh lily did I spoil Ivan too much’ he said mentioning the name of his dead wife.

Ivory smiled in amusement, as she watches her dad and Ivan bicker, for the first time in a long time she felt complete. She sensed someone’s gaze.

It was the handsome bodyguard according to her memories his name was Alfred-commoners don’t usually have last names-and he served her since she was eight, the past ivory was his bestie but a year later she turned hostile to him, why? She didn’t know that part just seemed blurred.

She stared at him for a few seconds before turning her eyes away she felt weird when he stared at her, just like a lion observing his prey.

The next day

It was dawn ivory sat up on the bed as she stared into space, the terrifying nightmare which tortured her on earth was torturing her in this world. This time it was clear and more horrifying, she had a feeling if she wasn’t careful that was going to be her future.

She suddenly remembered she had a fiancée in this world and he was the crown prince.

‘Oh my god’ ivory whispered digging her hands into her silver hair ‘I must find a way to call off this f**k**g engagement.

‘Fortunately I’m still safe, my so called cousin hasn’t appeared’ ivory said comforting herself ‘as long as she hasn’t appeared, I still got time’.

‘My lady’ a voice called jolting ivory out of her reverie.

‘Hey Chloe’ ivory responded awkwardly. Fun fact her maid was Chloe who was apparently her bestie and her brother’s boyfriend back on earth.

Chloe put the cloth she was holding on the table, it dawn already, today’s the day we attend provincial clan.

Clan in this place simply meant an academy which trained people how to use their powers. Provincial clan is the second most powerful clan in the whole empire which produced geniuses while the number one is the saintess clan which only accepts females.

Ivory stood up had her bathe with the help of Chloe and got dressed in her clan uniform which was quite free to move around in. While Chloe went to get dressed too, ivory admired herself in the mirror.

She was clad in a sky blue gown which had slits at both sides of the hips that stopped at the waists and blue pants which is visible. Her eye was now blue, ivory noticed her skin was a little bit paler and her ash hair was now silver.

Chloe interrupted her internal debate about her body, Chloe too was going ‘cause she was her personal maid. They both exited her room and went to the dining area. Ivory greeted her dad then sat beside Ivan; they prayed then started to eat. Ivory noticed a lady sitting opposite her, she didn’t really ponder on it until duke hemming introduced her.

‘Kids I would like you to meet your cousin Keya, she’s from your mom’s side and will be attending provincial clan along with you guys’.

Ivory almost choked on her omelet. Ivory stared at the lady in front of her as if she had seen the devil himself.
