Alfred stared at the mirror, he closed his eyes, when he opened them again they were no longer green but a dark cat like eyes. He hated them, they reminded him of his origin each time they reminded him he wasn’t one of them. His eyes changed back to their normal green color.
‘Alfred, are you going to sleep in there’ a voice called from outside his room.
‘I’m coming’ he replied hurriedly, he took a ribbon and tied his long black hair then exited the room to meet the other bodyguards who called for him.
‘Wow, isn’t he handsome’ one of the younger body guards said, everyone agreed while Alfred just smiled. The eldest of them all which was a man in his fifties stood up and helped Alfred adjust the collar of his uniform.
‘time flies, last year you just got admitted to provincial clan now you’ll be in your second year…protect lady ivory well, you do know without her you’ll never even step foot into that clan’.
‘I know’ Alfred said smiling as he hugged the old geezer. He carried a heavy bag and walked out. He first dropped the bag in the carriage then proceeded to the dining area where he knew the hemming would be. On his way he encountered guards whom he greeted and gossipy maids who giggled girlishly when they saw him.
At last he arrived but they had started to eat he found a corner to settle in as he watched the hemming eat. He noticed an unfamiliar girl sitting in their midst because of the creature he was, he could tell at a glance she was a witch, witches were good but she gave off a chilling vibe.
He watched as the duke introduced the girl and he heard a low whisper of ivory words
‘Fuck it’.
He smirked and muttered to himself ‘when did she start muttering such crude words’. He raised his head and saw ivory staring at him with an annoyed face. He stopped smirking and looked somewhere else.
‘How did she hear my whisper’? He looked at her direction; fortunately she was staring at Keya just too intensely. He had a vague feeling ivory sensed something fishy but unknown to him she was pondering how to lock Keya up forever until she was thirty.
‘Hello’ Keya said smiling as she stared at both ivory and Ivan. Ivory felt chills run down her spine, if she didn’t have that dream she wouldn’t believe this girl who had an innocent face and a sweet smile was a vicious bitch. The vicious expression and the innocent expression of Keya merged in ivory’s mind. Ivory turned pale, she unconsciously released her powers making the temperature of the room drop.
‘Ivory’ her father called in a warning tone. She snapped out of her unconscious state making the temperature go back to normal.
Ivan continued to eat, he behaved as if Keya didn’t exist so their breakfast ended in an awkward manner.
After breakfast they all stepped outside where the carriage was waiting for them.
‘I’ll miss you’ duke hemming said as he hugged both Ivan and ivory. Ivory hugged him whole heartedly while Ivan looked bored.
‘Isn’t it good to have a family’ Chloe said while looking at the trio.
‘Are you talking to me’ Alfred asked in surprise because Chloe rarely talked to him.
Chloe snorted.
‘Who else would I be talking to if not you’ she sighed ‘wouldn’t it be nice if we both had parents to send us off as we go to provincial clan’
‘Yes, it would be’ he responded with a smile.
‘Did you just smile’ Chloe asked in surprise ‘I never see you smile’.
‘You only see me when am on duty’.
True, so basically you’re only cold when you are with lady ivory, why?’
‘None of your business’ he responded. Meanwhile Keya stared coldly as everyone interacted with each other, basically she was ignored. She gave up trying to get attention by standing alone and decided to enter the carriage which they would enter when they were done with their goodbyes.
At last they bade each other goodbyes, Ivan and ivory entered the carriage which Keya was in while Chloe and Alfred entered another carriage which had the luggage of everyone.
As the carriage moved ivory peeked out the window in excitement, she enjoyed seeing how the peasant carried on their daily activities, she also enjoyed breathing in the pollution free air it was simply refreshing.
Keya stared at ivory with jealousy which was quickly concealed when she noticed Ivan studying her. Ivan and ivory sat opposite to her.
‘I don’t like you’ Ivan suddenly said which made both ivory and Keya look at him.
‘Me’ Keya asked pointing to herself.
‘Who’s the stranger here?’Ivan asked.
‘Me’ Keya blushed.
‘at least you know your place’ Ivan snorted ‘I don’t want to see you near me, my sister nor our servants unless you are in dire need of help understand’.
‘Yes Sir Ivan’ she answered as she clenched her hands into fists. Ivory had a bad feeling about this; she stared at Ivan with worry evident in her eyes.
‘If I may ask Sir Ivan why’
‘Why… because I and my sister don’t like you that’s why, something just doesn’t seem right with you’
Ivory looked at her brother weirdly, why in Christ name would he tell her she seemed weird it would only make her guarded against them.
‘stop staring at me ivory, I told her that so she can at least learn to conceal her emotions properly and know we hemming are not easy to mess with’.
Keya’s face turned a deeper shade of red ‘didn’t he know she was there then again why was he so direct’.
Ivory couldn’t help but give her brother another look, at home she was the elder who had to take care of Ivan but in this life he took on her role, being taken care off seems oddly comfortable. She smiled then continued to look out the window while Keya was strangely composed like what happened a few minutes ago never happened.
Ivory had to commend her, she was a perfect example of a patient schemer.
At last they all woke up. After sorting their stuffs they began their journey. After four days they got to their destination. ‘At last’ ivory said smiling; they hid behind a big pile of snow as they watched the white leopard doing their stuffs. ‘Do you honestly think we can bypass all those creatures’ Natasha said warily. ‘I think they are up to twenty’ Chevy said glancing around. ‘We should make a proper plan before we barge in or we’re all going to be eaten alive’ Alfred says carefully looking around. Ivory looks at the map. She could see many green and pink dots but the leopard standing at the entrance of the cave was a red dot. ‘This will be a little tricky’ ivory comments as she sighs. ‘Who are those’ Natasha says pointing to two women dressed in white not standing far away from them. Ivory glances at them frowning. ‘Aren’t they from saintess clan’ indigo said as they all stared at them. The women dressed in white stared at them too. ‘Let’s be careful’ Alfred says ‘I’m su
‘I wonder what’s taking them so long’ indigo says as his stomach growls. ‘Don’t worry since Alfred is with her she’ll be fine’ Chevy says while smiling, Nara chuckles too. Natasha looks at them both as she asks ‘is there something going on between them that I don’t know’. ‘He’s her bodyguard nothing can happen between them’ indigo says glancing at Natasha. Natasha scoffs ‘don’t you read romance stories’. ‘It’s a waste of my time and money’ indigo states, Natasha wanted to retort but she kept quiet when she heard footsteps outside the cave. Alfred appears with ivory on his back, Natasha stands up. ‘You’re back and why is ivory on your back’ she asks in confusion. Chevy noticing something was wrong quickly carries ivory in princess style and checks her properly. ‘Quick lay her down’ Alfred says as he drags indigo on his feet. ‘What happened to her’ Nara asks noticing ivory could only move her eyes. ‘She got scratched on her arm by the claw of the Dagi rabbit’ Alfred explains wh
Sighing she looked around; Anita was nowhere to be found. Ivory could feel a slight change in the wind; she turned back and saw Anita smiling at her as she lay down on a bed.Huffing in annoyance, ivory looked at Anita as she asked ‘where did you go’.Anita smiled sheepishly ‘I was in your soul space; I just wasn’t in this exact spot’.‘look when you suddenly appeared and told me the only way to go back was to survive without dying I thought I could do that but when death stared at me in the face I found out that I was too afraid to continue living in this fucked up world’.‘But this is your fate’ Anita responded.‘this isn’t my fate’ ivory yelled ‘it’s a fucked up fate you and ivory made up for me…she gets a vision and goes to my body while I come to hers to fight her battles for her, do you have any idea how annoying that can be’.Anita sighed then stood up ‘you don’t understand’.Ivory sneered ‘understand, I don’t need to understand anything … you know almost dying made me do a lot
‘Are you okay?’ the guy asked smiling.‘Indigo’ ivory called looking at him then at his sword. He stretched out his hand which ivory accepted, with his help she stood up and dusted her cloth.‘Thanks’ ivory said looking at his sword. Alfred grabbed her worriedly.‘Are you okay?’ he asked checking her body.‘I’m fine’ she responded. Ivory’s hands shook, she hid her hands so the others won’t see, she couldn’t believe she just escaped from death.‘That’s a relief’ Nara commented. Ivory stared at indigo’s sword; she wondered what type of sword it was that it could pierce through the bear’s thick hide. The sword looked like it was made from a bone of a creature.‘That sword is indeed made from bone but it was made from a bone of a phase five air elemental’ Anita commented. Ivory’s eyes widened in surprise as she took another look at his sword, she didn’t reply Anita as she was still a little angry.‘If you had the sword all along why didn’t you attack’ Alfred asked angrily.‘I’m a healer n
Seeing the bear turn ivory into ice, Alfred yelled out in surprise. ‘Ivory!!!’ The bear removed the chains around its hand and moved it leg forcefully. It broke Chevy spell and rushed to attack them, Nara joined the fight while Natasha and indigo stayed beside the frozen ivory. Laying the frozen ivory on the snow, indigo suggested ‘enclose her in water, let’s see whether it will melt. Nodding Natasha said ‘water bubble’. The frozen ivory was inside the water bubble for a few minutes but it didn’t melt at all. ‘It isn’t working’ Natasha said in frustration as she called water bubble off, seeing them all fighting the bear, indigo sighed. ‘We should have hid the moment ivory said so’ Natasha said sadly. The ice began to crack, indigo and Natasha stared at ivory. The ice shattered and disappears from ivory’s body, staring at them while laying down on the snow ivory said. ‘Yeap you guys should have listened to me’. ‘Are you alright’ Natasha asked worriedly. ‘Did you forget, I’m an
There was no difference between where they just left to where they just entered, the place is covered in snow. ‘I thought since only phase one and two can enter this place, it will be full of treasures but I was wrong’. Natasha says looking around. ‘Don’t look down on this place, there are many treasures here but if luck is on your side you’ll find one’ Alfred says covering himself with his coat. There was a patch of grass where they were standing; both Chevy and indigo were digging them. Some after revealing their roots they covered them back and some they but in a purse hanging around their waist. ‘Why are you guys digging up grass?’ ivory asked as she watched them doing their thing. ‘It’s isn’t just any grass, it’s snow grass’ Indigo replied. ‘Snow grass, what are those’ ivory asked looking around; Natasha shakes her head indicating she doesn’t know too. ‘It’s a type of grass which is used to make medicine and potion’ indigo replies ‘the older it gets the stronger its proper
