Matthew pulled his hat down low. He knew it wasn’t a good idea to be back in Silver Falls, but it had been a couple of days, and he was becoming increasingly more stressed. 

Juliet had been consistent in messaging and calling him, but while he hadn't been able to answer, he could at least hear her voicemail or read her messages to know that she was okay. Now, he had no idea what was happening with her and needed to see that she was okay for himself. He had tried to get a message to her through Hawk, but Hawk had disappeared, too, and Matthew hadn’t figured out where he would be hiding yet. 

Still, Matthew didn’t want to wait any longer. He at least needed to see for himself that she was okay. If she were, he would hang around and ensure she stayed that way. 

He didn’t know who had been assigned to Juliet, but he wouldn’t trust his woman’s life in anyone’s hands but his own.

For the next two weeks, the U.S. Marshals would have someone posted nearby to blend in with the neighborhood as a precaution to ensure they hadn't been followed and that they were no active threat to them.
