Chapter eight

The unfamiliar voices coming from a distant, the sound of leaves rustling against the gentle breeze was the first thing Zara heard as her eyes fluttered open. 

It was morning,  the sun was shining brightly,  the birds sang sweetly above the forest trees. 

A slight gasp escaped her mouth at the throbbing pain in her head,  what had happened?

Her wandering eyes took a quick glance around,  why was she still in the forest? 

She last remembered playing hide and seek with....... with that thought she straightened to her feet, ignoring the dull ache in her ankles. 

A shot of alarm and confusion zipped through her as she took another glance around.  

Something was terribly wrong! 

She didn't recognise this part of the forest. 

Where were the other girls?
