Loud cheering. Laughter resonated from  the great hall , beautiful magical lanterns brightened up the feast .

He sat with a goblet intertwined between his fingers, he was becoming weary of the toasts he received from each member of the royal clan. 

All of them wore a wide innocent smile, but all he could see was the loathe and deceit beneath.  He wanted nothing more than to rip of their heads,  to allow their blood smear freely over the walls. 

A dark side of him was thrilled at the thought,  allowing his blood to drum in anticipation. 

Allanon swallowed tight,  it was a secret he had held for so many years,  one none of them knew of.  He had always loved the sight of blood,  a part of him would want to hear their screams. 

He'd managed to curb the dark desire,  burying it into a hidden side of him,  but it was still there.  Waiting to be unleashed.
