LOGINArianna's POV
I slowly turned towards her, but I was stunned by what I saw. “Why do you have a bag with you, and why do you look like you're embarking on a journey?” I asked confusingly. “How the hell will I let you walk this path alone? I told you I was going to be with you every step of the way,” she said, slowly walking towards me with a glowing smile on her face. “Where do you think I'm going to?” I asked, arms arched above my waist as I glared at her. “Anywhere you're going. Not like you have an idea where you're going to as well,” she replied. We both burst into laughter, hanging our arms over our shoulders as we both decided to leave together. But just as we were about to leave, grandma rushed out through the door, causing us to turn immediately. “Are you both thinking of leaving me without telling me anything,” she sobbed as tears trailed down her eyes. Seeing her break down emotionally, I quickly rushed to her as I grabbed her, embracing her tightly. “I didn't want you to see me leaving,” I replied, cleaning the tears that were on her cheeks. “At least you should have said goodbye,” she said softly, pushing my long dark hair behind my ear. My eyebrows furrowed in shock, startled by her reaction. I felt she was going to be against me leaving, but that wasn't the reaction she was giving. I turned over and took a glance at Celine, who was riddled with shock as well. “You're not stopping her?” Celine asked. Grandma smiled softly. “Arianna has chosen a path that seems right to her. All I can do is support her.” Tears slowly clouded my eyes as I looked into hers, seeing the pain she was trying to hold back in. “Thank you so much,” I embraced her once more, sobbing softly in her arms. “Be careful out there. Don't forget what made you start this journey in the first place,” she advised, breaking down in tears as she waved us goodbye. Leaving her all alone was one of the toughest decisions I had to make, but I was willing to make it worth the sacrifice. Placing one foot in front of the other, and with Celine by my side, it felt like there was nothing we couldn't conquer. We made sure to pack up some supplies that will keep us going along the way. It was a long journey towards the walls of Mystic Falls, but I was willing to leave this city. We went head-on, finding our way through the woods. “I'm beginning to feel it was a bad idea coming along with you,” Celine giggled, breathing heavily as we kept wandering deeper into the woods. “I must confess, I never knew it would get this creepy out here,” I chuckled. “We just have to spend one night within this forest. By day, we would have gotten to the gates,” Celine replied. She knew so much more about the city compared to me, and it seemed more like a wonder because Celine despised leaving the house most times. She always enjoyed the comfort of the house but knew her way around Mystic Falls more than Grandma. “But Celine, why did you follow me all the way out here?” I asked softly. It didn't make any much sense to me that she was willing to leave the confirmation of her home to follow me through a journey that wasn't going to be of much benefit to her. It left me marvelled and, at the same time, caused several questions to swell up in my head. “Why are you asking? You're my best friend. Of course, I'll go to any length for you,” she replied nonchalantly. “You're not getting my point here. You're not getting anything from this journey, but you're willing to follow me even when I don't know where I'm going. I have no idea what lies beyond the walls,” I highlighted. “Arianna, you've shown me so much love throughout my entire stay with you. This is little compared to the lengths you would go for me if I was in your shoes,” she replied with a soft smile on her face. “Together forever?” “That's right. Together forever,” we chorused. With the help of Celine's brilliance, we were able to set up a tent for the night and a fire to keep warm through the night. I looked back at the towering castle, reminiscing on the good memories I created within those walls. Sadly, those memories were bound to follow me through every part I take, and maybe even to my grave. “You know he was a coward,” Celine broke the silence that filled the atmosphere, pulling me out of my reverie. “Who?” “Stop denying it. You know who I'm talking about,” she replied. “Ohh, Damien. I don't enjoy talking about him, but I feel you're right anyway,” I affirmed. “Are you doing this because of him?” She enquired. Her question struck deep, causing me to throw the same question to myself at a deeper level. “Why the sudden quietness?” She asked. I was caught in a fix, trying to be honest with myself and also trying so hard not to be in denial. “Nothing. Of course, I'm not doing this because of him,” I quickly snapped, forcing a smile on my face. Fortunately, she bought the answer. But I knew deep down that I was keeping the truth from myself. The lights went out, and we both went to sleep for the night. But right in the middle of the night, Celine began gasping and breathing heavily in her sleep. Turning from side to side, perspiration covering her face. Suddenly, she jerked from her sleep, yelling loudly as her eyes darted around while she kept breathing heavily. “What's the matter, Celine,” I asked, grabbing her arms tightly as I softly gave her a gentle pat on her back. “It was a dream. The same dream,” she revealed, riddled with so much fear in her eyes.Celine's POVRiding through the streets of Mystic Falls, something felt really off about the environment. Everything seemed to have changed from the way I left it before I journeyed off from this city. The witches who I had once given hope looked like their hopes were taken away. Soldiers littered the streets like it was a war, and none of them kept eye contact with me. They all looked away from my eyes, making sure their eyes weren't going to meet with mine. At this point, there's no doubt that there's something wrong. But there's only one way to find out. “Something seems off about this place.” Luckily, Hale notices it as well. I take a deep breath. “I really hope it's not what I'm thinking about.”“What are you thinking about?” “Maybe I made a mistake leaving Mystic Falls in the first place.” I don't feel Alpha Damien connected to me anymore. That's giving me more reason to doubt everything around me. What if Vincent failed? I strike the horse, racing faster towards t
Arianna's POV I'd like to watch her do her best to show me how Celine is behind everything. Celine doesn't even have powers. Yes, she's a witch but she's entirely empty. She doesn't have magic or whatever so how can she possibly command troops to attack me. Theresa stands, grabbing my hand gently as she walks out of the room, leading me to her basement. “What do you want to show me?” “Patience, Arianna. You asked for this. I'm only about to show you what you asked to see.” No matter what she shows me, I don't think I would be able to believe her. The unveils an old mirror right in the centre of the basement. “Look into the mirror.” “I'm just seeing myself.” “Look closer, Arianna. Look closer.” My gaze narrows, taking a deeper look at the mirror. Slowly, my reflection suddenly disappears and then Mystic Falls castle suddenly appears on it. I startle, jerking back immediately. “What's going on?” She smiles gently. “That's Mystic Falls castle. Surrounded by
Arianna's POVTheresa calling me all of a sudden to have a discussion with me is something I didn't see coming. I'm pretty nervous to hear what she has to say. I take a seat right next to her, waiting for her to come out of her meditation state. It's also weird that she called me while she was in this state. This woman is really giving me the creeps, and I must commend her aura as well. It's way above the chart. Just look at the way she noticed me walking inside, and— I need to focus. Focus, Arianna. You're definitely here to talk about something very important. You shouldn't be messing around right now. Finally, she opens her eyes, turning her gaze towards me. “How do you like my house?” She smiles, making me feel a warm sense of welcome around her. “Thank you very much for your hospitality.” “Don't mention. You deserve even more than I can give.” “Why did you call me?” She smiles. “You're just like your mother. You always want to jump straight to the point without wasti
Arianna's POVI'm finding it hard to believe that Ralph is speaking from his right senses. How does he want me to believe that somebody I literally grew up with throughout my whole life would want to hurt me all of a sudden? “Ralph, I'm you must be stressed. That should explain why you're talking like this.”He shakes his head gently and then exhales heavily. “I'm sure it will be hard for you to believe. It's a shame that I can't prove it to you.” He's still going about the same subject. “I'd love for us to drop this topic. Let's talk about something else.” He clears his throat. “What do you want us to talk about?” Well, I've been meaning to talk about our stay here. From the look of things, it seems like we're going to be out here for a pretty long time. I love it out here anyway, but sometimes I wonder if my grandmother is doing alright over there. “How long are we going to stay in this realm?” I know that question is coming too soon. But I'm already feeling uncomfortable
Arianna's POVWhat's going on inside there? My heart races with tremendous fear, and the night slowly draws to an end, but yet there's no sign that this fight is going to end. The whole house literally crumbles under the weight of the magic inside there. It just looks like the whole thing is going to fall apart. But Xavier? He looks rather calm and reserved. From his demeanour, he looks rather convinced that this whole thing will end in our favour. But I don't feel that way. My insides feel turned over completely, and he races with throbbing fear. My palms already feel cold, and the pressure of blood pumping through my veins is causing me to sweat profusely. Suddenly, in the midst of the whole tension and the troubled heart, Ralph and Theressa both walk out from the burning building. I instinctively rush to Ralkh, hugging him tightly. But I snap out of the moment immediately and pull away from him. “Somebody actually missed me.” “That's totally wrong. I was only worried tha
Celine's POVHale knocks on the door, hoping to get a response. “Are you sure he's inside?” “Of course I am. Just relax and let me do the thinking.” “Fine. You can have it your way.” Standing outside here, I must confess, it seems like the man isn't home at all. But just when I had finally given up hope, the lock clicks and the door opens. His expression quickly turns into fright immediately he sets his eyes on her. “How are you doing, my old friend?” Hale smirks as she casually moves hom out of the way, walking into the house like she owned it. I follow up behind her because I don't want to seem too left out. “I…I wasn't expecting you, Hale.” he stutters, trying as much as he can to keep his cool. “Yes. I never knew I needed you until last night.” His brows furrow as he glares at her, puzzled and trying to understand the whole scenario. “What do you want from me?” Hale smirks. “Relax, hun. Have you forgotten the sweet moments we shared together.” “Don't start with this,
